They remodeled about 5 years ago and it has that real pizzeria feel and decor. Plenty of parking and they have 40 percent off your pizza on Mondays - Note: Dine in only. We love the large deep dish with green peppers, mushrooms, onions and sausage. You can actually call in your pizza and time it perfectly. Pizza was good, service was decent. It was a little bit awkward at first since when we walked in, nobody came up to us for a few minutes even though there were a few people behind the take out counter and we almost sat ourselves down because that's what we assumed we should do. Ordered the Classic pizza along with some beer. As advertised, the pizza took the whole 45 minutes to cook. It was pretty good - better than Lou Maltani's I'd say because the cheese is not as overwhelming. The green peppers were a little too dominant in the pizza but otherwise pretty delectable! After we got the bill, nobody checked up on us so we ended up going to the front to pay since we again assumed that's what we were supposed to do. While I'm not personally a fan of deep dish pizza, this place has better deep dish than I've had elsewhere! I'd say to improve hospitality a little bit more - I barely saw my waiter except for when he took our order, delivered our food and then our check. The guy behind the counter said it was going to be another 45 minute wait. Geez. I sit. I wait. I listen. While waiting, I over heard an upset mother ask to speak to the manager because her and her daughter have been waiting over an 1 hour and 15 minutes for their pizza. Made the unfortunate decision to stop by this past Saturday evening. Every table around us was dirty with plates and garbage. Staff only cleaned a table as customers came in and it was needed. And I could hear them complaining when they HAD to. Stuffed pizza was stuffed with air more than anything. Skimped on the cheese, the ingredients and the sauce. Went in to sit down today with only a handful of tables eating. They said for thin crust pizza it would take 1 hr. Said that's normal and not true. I go to other Giordano's and deep dish is 20 mins. I get there's a lot of to go but this was for in dining. Ridiculous. I understand for deep dish why it takes so long. If you have lots of time, this is definitely the place for you! After over waiting just to be seated, we finally got a table and it took more than 10 for our server to come. The bus guy who brought us water, came back and brought us two kids cups for the kids, came back a 3rd time and the look i gave him (not towards him) was that we are waiting on our server. He went back and told someone, another 5 mins someone finally came. Ordered two appetizers and a pasta and pizza (thin crust) and seems to take a long time. I'm not sure how long our appetizers were sitting on under the lamps (assume) before i asked if those are ready please bring them out to us. It was not that busy so fries and chicken tenders should not take more than 15 mins especially if they are "starters". The service at this place is terrible and too LONG of a wait. I saw about 3 servers only and when i walked by later on the manager (i assume by his shirt) was just chilling leaning on the counter into the kitchen chatting away. IF you have hiring sign and you seem to be short, why not get out there and help your employees and be a manager of the place. Will definitely not be coming back to this location. The deep dish pizza is always so good, but just about everything else is mediocre now, which is why I hope the owner(s) will pick it up several notches here. I used to love coming to this place years ago, but it seems to be in decline these days. Along with the deep dish pizza, I ordered a very pricey "family bowl" salad, which was so paltry, with not enough salad, meat, or dressing to go around. Not all of us can eat pizza, so this mediocre dish was such a disappointment. The decor, which was once very nice, seems unkept, with lots of tables not really organized in a dining area setting, but more like as a storage area. A table we sat at by the window was cold and drafty. I feel like if the owner(s) could vastly improve their non pizza mediocre menu and could make better use of the decor they already have and dress the place up a lot better to feel more alive and cozy. read more

Had my son's second birthday party here a few weeks ago. It was the absolute best experience! We had about 70 people attend and the space was perfect, great party room. Put in my order the day before our event and was given great suggestions on what and how much to order. The amount of pizza we ordered was just the right amount. Bella and Alyssa were the best servers. Beverage pitchers were always full, made sure we had plates, utensils and enough food. I'm with Jacob J.: their stuffed pizza is now awful. They must have changed management at some point, because I can clearly tell they changed their recipe. Excellent appetizers. Cheesy bread, boneless wings, garlic parm fries, and the bone in wings were made to perfection. Came in with 10 people and the service was spot on. Kind, polite, and very well-mannered staff took care of us and checked on us routinely. They have a very kind staff and believe me that goes a long way. You can have crappy food but if you treat someone this good they'll come back anyway. We ordered a medium deep dish with pesto chicken, spinach, and garlic. Great service, great food, pretty big location, sufficient parking, friendly staff, perfectly prepared food. Came here with a friend and ordered one small chicken sausage pizza and it was absolutely delicious! Our server served us our slices at the table, kept up with our soda orders, and promptly brought out dessert (their tiramisu is awesome, and that's coming from someone who definitely knows her desserts!). When I call, 20 minutes after the delivery window has expired, the manager asks me what my problem is. It's now 30 minutes after delivery window and food is just arriving. No apology. No offer to make things right. No explanation. What's my problem? My problem is a basic and fundamental lack of customer service or respect. I had read mixed to negative reviews about this location. WORST.... I MEAN WORST dining experience we have had. This was the first time in my life we have walked out of a place before we got our food. I have ordered delivery from giordanos many times but this time for a change of pace we decided to eat in. We went wednesday oct 30th at 730pm incase the manager wants to look up our order to see that we were in fact there. As we walked in we saw only about 6-7 tables full so thought that would equate to a low wait time...couldnt be further from the truth. We ordered some cheesy garlic bread which came quick and then We ordered a small THIN crust with 3 toppings. I capitalized " thin" since im fully aware the stuffed takes longer. 1 hr later we were still sitting there waiting for our food while our server was chit chatting it up with the people behind us about halloween parties. We were hungry and angry at this point so we decided to do what we have never done...leave. We walked up to the counter and I told the lady we just wanted to pay four our appetizer and leave since it was taking way too long for our pizza and we were very disappointed. She rang it up and gave a soft and simple "sorry about that" and that was it. you have people wait forever and just say yeah sorry? thats it? this was a very bad experience for us....we have gone to dine in before and had to wait quite a bit as well but that was for stuffed so understandable but for what we went through this time, the lack of interest by our server, the lack of compassion from the management I will NEVER dine in or order for delivery from this location again. Stopped in this past weekend to celebrate a birthday with family. Cold and rainy outside, not very busy inside. The last time I came through was more than a year ago. I feel like management has changed since then. They gave us a long table near the front door, six people. We arrived in two groups, the first got silverware and plates. We sat. Asked for flatware, etc Ate some apps, then the pizza came and after she brought our plates, etc. I wondered (silently) how long our server had been in the service industry. She was crappy at it. Slow with refills, I know we wanted beers, but, they never came. The stuffed 3 topping pizza was terrible. Too watery and there was a dip in one slice where you could see 3cm of oil just sitting on top. Tasteless. More than half remained and we chucked it. The thin 3 topping pizza, much better. Tasteful, the entire pie was gone in minutes. Amongst appetizers, calamari was best. Giordano's isn't one of my favorite places, coupled with the service and the poor overall taste of the stuffed, I wouldn't recommend this location to any friends. read more

I have been eat in this chain many times (both sit-in and take-out) for their famous Chicago style deep dish, although the experience is getting worse every time. Sometime dough or crust were still quite soft (maybe have too many topping and sauce on it, but tried another deep dish in Chi-town, no issue there). With a few sit-ins my friend and I have to wait long time to get seated or serviced, so only would try take-out now. read more

Disaster. Giordano's is struggling-- it's no news to anyone in the Chicago area. However, this location is an example of looks being deceiving. The store itself is clean and well-maintained, and there's plenty of parking. The food, service and pricing are absolutely abysmal. We've dined in around 8-10 times in our 4 years living in MG, usually on the half-price Monday nights. I'd say that on about half of those occasions, our order has been wrong. On the other half, we've waited for over an hour for our meal. Service is incredibly slow (usually have to flag down someone for a refill, check, etc) and unfriendly for the most part. We've interacted with two managers who have been somewhat helpful, but one of them told us that their headquarters was difficult to work with, and if he could change things himself, he would. Don't know if that's a copout, but it seems possible given the company's current situation. Pickup service is ok, but spending $28 on a 4 topping pizza is just not realistic. We try to save coupons sent in the mail or newspaper, but eating at Giordano's is fairly cost-prohibitive without them. For my money, I'll stick to Lou's and Pequod's. Keep trying, Giordano's. Hopefully D-Rose will be your savior, as well as the Bulls'. read more

That's until I tasted all the other places and realized giordanos is on the lower end when it comes to taste of deep dishes. So as a long time chicago area local I have my pizza preferences and always thought Giordano's fell in the middle. Due to that I had not had G's in few years but decided to break my habits and come in and sit at the bar and have a beer and order a pie to go. The restaurant as a whole is nice and typical of a chain establishment. The type of service you expect and ambiance you expect at a chain. Nothing special and adequate but nothing wrong with that. The issue here is the pizza (stuffed) to me it's dry and overly bready and u do love my deep dish chicago style pizza. Just doesn't measure up to Ginos or Lou's. And WOW was it expensive (spinach pizza and salad=$50). 3 stars BUT I won't be back soon. In my opinion there are better options. read more

We came here the other night with a large group - about 16 people. They gave us the back room to ourselves, though honestly, we could have sat anywhere since there were maybe 3 other tables in the whole place. First of all, service is slooooooooooooooooooooooow. I think we sat for about 10-15 minutes before anyone came by for our drink order. And waiting for the pizza took forever! We ordered a few pizzas and one deep dish. We understood the deep dish would take about 35 minutes, but with the restaurant nearly full, it should not have taken almost an hour to bring out. The pizza itself is rather bland. The sauce is unremarkable in any way. Good thing they have spices at the table - they put nearly none on the pizza itself. One last thing that kind of irked me. As we were wrapping up, meaning finishing up our food, paying the bill, and starting to put our coats on, the bus boy came over and started clearing off the table. No big deal, but he was literally in our way, reaching over us, as we tried to finish up. It's not like he needed to turn the table quickly. Couldn't he have waited 5 minutes until we left? I was in Chicago for the week so I decided to order Giordano's to my hotel room one night per the recommendation from the front desk. The girl on the phone was nice enough while taking my order, but the pizza itself was quite underwhelming. I ordered the stuffed deep dish with pepperoni and although it looked good once I opened the box, the saying holds true that you can't judge a book by its cover. The sauce (what little there was on the pizza) was watery and tasted like store bought marinara, ala Ragu or Prego. I realize that deep dish pizza is supposed to be more doughy, but I really think that this pie could have used a couple more minutes in the oven.
