Passing through Chicago on my way to NY, I had to find true authentic Chicago style pizza, and I didn't want to just find any ol' place, I wanted to find the best of the best, and through all of my searches, I came up with Giordano's. We arrived here a little late, the dining area was closed by the time we got there, the hostess was a little rude when she told us and then stormed away right after, not a big deal, because they were still nice enough to let us make a to go order. So we ordered the Special: sausage, mushrooms, green peppers and onions. We felt a lot of pressure to hurry up our decision, not a big deal, I mean, they were trying to close up. 35 Minutes Later They didn't call our name, we just assumed the pizza they put on the counter was for us, and luckily, it was! Since we were on a road trip and they wouldn't let us eat there, we had to do the most logical thing, find a park! So we found the nearest park and ate what I was craving for the last 500 miles. My friends LOVED it, they loved how cheesy and crusty it was. I on the other hand had a more difficult time enjoying it. To me it was waaaay too cheesy (which I never thought could be possible), but there was so much cheese stuffed inside and out of this pizza that it masked all of the other flavors. I could hardly detect any of the other toppings, I could feel the texture of the peppers and onions, but all I could taste was cheese...so...sorry Chicago, not a fan.... I didn't get a chance to get the whole dining experience at Giordano's, but after spending 35 minutes waiting around inside, I would imagine it would have been a fun experience, and who knows, during regular hours the servers may actually be pleasant. read more

I never understood the meaning of deep-dish pizza because none of the pizzerias I've been to made my jaw drop in 'deep' awe. I admit, this was the only place I've eaten pizza while I was in Chicago, but I have eaten at many pizzerias who claimed to serve deep-dish or stuffed crust pizza either. You should have seen my eyes like they would pop out of the sockets and my jaw slowly drop in amazement when this 10-inch deep and stuffed cheese pizza came to my face. Not only did I feel cheated for having such a deep pizza, I felt such a pig for ordering it all to myself. Contrary to the menu stating it serves 1-2 people, the 10-inch can easily serve 3 to 4 hungry people. It was freaking ginormous! Sauce was sooo good. I loved how it was stuffed with soooo much fromage!!! I *heart* cheese! I took my leftovers (3/4 of the pie) and shared with other travelers (I was backpacking the east coast on Greyhound bus at that time). Come to find out from another traveler, a few blocks down, another joint was serving thin crust pizza, a slice as big as a quarter size of a regular umbrella. That lad didn't seem like he was joking either. read more

This was the first thing that I got at Chicago after landing here. My first flight was cancelled and I was famished. I didn't know what I was getting myself into, but my friend knew this place, though it be a slight food chain feel, was something special in Chicago (and apparently Florida). We got the pizza that could be shared 3-4 people, but obviously my friend and I finished the thing. We ordered the stuffed pizza with sausage and mushrooms. When this thing came out (about a 30-40 minute wait) I was amazed at the height of this thing. I had my first bite and I was in LOVE. ABSOLUTE LOVE with this dinner. It's just amazing and I realized why it takes soo long to make. 20 Minutes for the first layer of pizza and your picked toppings, and 20 minutes for the second layer (tomato sauce and cheese). Not going to lie, this is good as, if not better than an orgasm in the mouth. read more

We had the Canadian Bacon & Pineapple stuffed pizza. (can't remember exactly what they call it there.) It was amazing. I definitely recommend it. Lost a star because the service wasn't that great. It took over an hour to get our food and had to flag the waitress down to get drink refills. Derrick Rose was in there filming a TV show and the waitress told us straight out she wouldn't be giving us that much attention because he was there. I thought that was a little rude. And if they needed to dedicate a waitress to his table then they should have given us a different waitress. read more

I'm not a fan of deep dish, but when I have guest in town and they want deep dish I always recommend Giordano's over other deep dish places. This is definitely the best. They also are very prompt with their delivery. It usually takes around an hour but the time the quote to deliver is spot on. read more

It was my first time coming here, first time coming to Chicago and a friend had recommended coming here for the deeps dish style pizza. It was very delicious I recommended coming here, I just got the Chicago classic style pizza it did not disappoint. read more

What hasn't been said about Giordano's that hasn't been said about Pizza Hut?! Just kidding! This is a must if you're a deep dish newbie. Staff is super friendly and attentive. This gets super packed so plan accordingly. Also the pizza takes about 45 to come out so take that into consideration when going to any deep dish pizza place. Thank goodness the host that informed us about the cooking time. We went to the bar and had some beers while we waiting. The bar ended up being better seating place than expected. I'm sure there are better alternatives that locals go for their deep dish pizza fix but for a first timer of true deep dish pizza this was amazing. read more

Really good deep dish pizza; and the service was awesome too; Robert, my waiter was fantastic and he whole experience was excellent. Would def. recommend for anyone who wants classic deep dish! read more

Stopped by on the way home from the museum because it we this place to try, not bad but not amazing either. Chicken pesto pizza: small size, good for 2 people and good taste. Got thin crust so it want too terrible on the dough side. Boneless wings: small pieces but great that it was lightly breaded compared to others. Decent portion Greek salad: surprisingly better than expected. Good amount of toppings on it but s little too much dressing. Maybe ask for it on the side but overall. Classic salad. read more

Went last night with a group of about 40 people...our server Lorita was flippin AWESOME! Let me tell you...this chick not only took all of our orders but could recall everyone's orders by memory!! What?!!! And she had great customer service to boot... She was very refreshing in a city where most folks are pretty rude and all about what they want...if you go there ask for Lorita and give her a nice tip she deserves it!! As far as the food is concerned...it speaks for itself! Great Chi style pizza...had both thin and stuffed...both were RIDICULOUS!! Also had garlic chicken wings and salads were really fresh...need I say more??? Only...gave 4 stars because some of the other servers were unprofessional and pretty rude...especially when we were paying our bill at the end (remember it was 40 of us so professional patience and courtesy are a must!!...much of which they didn't have!). But other than that...loved the experience. #greatfood #greatmemories read more

My friend and I were in from out of town. (From Tulsa and Oklahoma City) Best pizza I've ever had, and great experience to have in Chicago! The wait was a little long, but once we tasted our pizza - deep dish, half veggie and half Canadian bacon.. We understood why. Yum!! read more

Over an hour for a deep dish pizza? I had no idea. Had to get thin crust because of time constraints.

Imagine Dying and going to pizza heaven where when you take one bite and a symphony of orgasms hits you in the face like a 10 foot wave crushing down on your soul... yes its that good. PRO TIP - DEEP DISH read more

An extremely disappointing pizza. We ordered the Chicago special and all we got was an undercooked cheese no bomb that didn't agree with us. Search for a more upscale pizzaria. This one is produced for mass consumption by ignorant tourists. Don't waste your calories here. Also the service was entirely mediocre. (I had to explain to the waiter what a martini is!). There's better pies to be found. Don't settle for this. read more

We ordered one pizza, it came with 10 slices. I had the lasagna with meat sauce and it was delicious and a good portion. For the pizza you can preorder before arriving since it takes about 45mins to an hour to cook. They were busy the night we went and we got good service. Definitely recommend. read more

There was so much pizza for 2 people. We got an appetizer beforehand because it takes 45minutes for the pizza to cook. The wait went quickly and the pizza was well worth the wait. read more

I have been to many Giordano's establishments; this one has been the best on so far. The atmosphere is amazing. Although there was a long wait for the pizza, it was all worth it. The cheese curds were also amazing. I enjoyed being able to enjoy good pizza with my family. I would highly suggest this to anyone looking for pizza that is worth its price. read more

Had a great server Nikki. The restaurant was busy and well organized. Food came out great. Thank you!

I prefer Giordanos over Lou Malnati's because it's less saucey and more savory. However I still wouldn't rant and rave about this pizza place. I enjoy going during lunch when the personal deep dish pizzas are only a 10 minute wait or so. I enjoy pepperoni and am always left pretty stuffed. I recently tried my own variation of veggies (artichoke, spinach, bell peppers and tomatoes) and I wasn't pleased =( I also had a bite of the meat lovers pizza which was much more satisfactory but I recommend going for the lunch personal pizza special for a convenient bite. I wouldn't go out of my way and I don't get cravings for some giordanos so it's a simple A-Ok rating. I'm still in pursuit of a "as good as it gets" pizza spot. =) read more

This place came highly recommended from all my friends who have been to Chicago. It is good but being a New Yorker I'm not a fan of the deep dish. This pizza is definitely stuffed to no end so go hungry. We ordered the meat and more meat stuffed medium pizza for 4 of us and still had 3 slices left over. Cheese is like 2 inches thick, which was way to much for me. They need a little bit more tomato sauce but the Italian sausage and pepperoni were great toppings. Went on a Saturday for lunch and got seated within 10 minutes even though the place was packed. Service was great and super friendly. Right down the block from the sky deck so a must for tourists. read more

Yummy! Three of us shared the family size Caesar salad while waiting for our deep dish pepperoni pizza. The salad was really good - tasty dressing, fresh lettuce, big flakes of Parmesan, and greasy (but so good!) breadsticks. And when we finally made our way through that - pizza! Cheesy, gooey, pizza! I liked their light, biscuity crust, although I wish it had a little more flavor. I also wish there had been a little more sauce on the pizza, but I know that's the way it's made. If you are in the Loop and looking for pizza, this is definitely worth a try. read more

all i can say is i died and went to pizza heaven when i went to eat here. I ordered a small deep dish pizza. the small deep dish will feed 2 people very well. the pizza was a eewie gooie trifecta of cheesy heveness. I had mine with black olives and Italian beef . the price is a bit steep but if you want some good Chicago style deep dish definitely pay this place a visit. read more

Overrated. The pizza really isn't worth the calories. There is no taste. All you eat is cheese.

Our server at this restaurant was wonderful- some of the best service I've ever had at a pizza joint. We enjoyed beer and margaritas, along with the delicious deep dish pizza. We definitely enjoyed their veggie pizza- one of the best I've ever had- and the meat lovers was good too. Deep dish pizza is a Chicago staple, and this location did not disappoint (the Giordanos by my house is not good, so I am glad that this one is good). The meal was pricey, but worth it. If I lived in the city I would definitely be back! read more

Came to Chicago for business, and knew I could not leave without trying some deep dish. Giordano's was highly recommended and I could see why. These slices are huge and very filling! It takes some time for the pizzas to be made/delivered (around 45 minutes) so if you are a tourist in the area check out the Willis Tower or walk up Michigan Street while you wait. read more

Giordano's had excellent lunch combos. Each of the combos came with a fountain drink, a side, and a main entree. The pizza combos were nice and cheesy, but not too salty. The lasagna was a little skimpy, but very delish. The chicken carbonara was very saucy, but good. We ordered a combo for each person and still had a box of food left over! We were stuffed. read more

Long time waiting for our order... The bathroom wasn't clean... That was our first time there so we ordered a deep dish pizza (The Chicago classic) and honestly it was just "ok"; definitely I won't order it again. And well about the price it is not THAT expensive, the pizza is a good amount of food (we were 4, and ordered a medium size) read more

First time to Chicago, how could I pass up a stop at classic Giordano's? A friend and I enjoyed their famous stuffed pizza, the "classic Chicago" style. It was huge! We couldn't eat more than one slice each! The small stuffed pizza is supposed to serve two, but it comes with six heaping slices. it does take 40 minutes to make, but it is well worth the wait. So other than being way too much food, and a bit of a wait, it was great. read more

Excellent deep dish pizza. Service is very quick and it just flows very well. They have a long wait but the deep dish take about 45 minutes to cook. So when you give your name, the hostess gives you a menu so that you can place your ordered for your deep dish while you wait. So when you're called for your table you'll only wait about 10 minutes for your pizza which is great. read more

I came here after visiting Willis Tower. I tried the classic pizza. The awful thing about Chicago style pizza is the time is takes for the pizza to cook when you're staved. Prior to coming here u tried Lou Malnati's which I liked a lot. Giodarno's crust was too thick for my liking. read more

I was impressed that we could get such quick service for a group of 8 for a birthday lunch. They have awesome $10 lunch specials, and I went with the chicken parm sandwich. Our server had more of a quiet do his work demeanor. My sandwich was pretty good, and the house salad was tasty too. We were able to have lunch within an hour long period. Definitely one of those places to keep in your pocket. I think it can be a hit or miss as I have seen lines out the door since it is in the loop and near many tourist attractions and a very good option for Chicago deep dish pizza. read more

Whoaaaa! I never had deep dish pizza before but wow, this was sooo good! By far one of the best pizza's I ever had in my entire life! I did not like how slow the wait was though...they could have told us it took so long for the pizza to make but they just kept us waiting..otherwise, this place was really good!! read more

This place has the best Chicago pizza EVER. Don't get fooled by piquods (been there, GROSS AH they barely put any cheese! ). We ordered the stuffed veggie without artichokes and broccoli and it was a gooey cheesy piece of heaven in my mouth! What makes this place great is that they also stuff the deep dish pizzas, so that its not a huge hunk of dough and one can still enjoy the cheesy layers of goodness that makes pizza so good! I was in Chicago for only 5 days and I couldn't leave without going again ! read more

We came in late on a Friday after polar express and JR was our waiter. Jr was amazing!! His service, politeness and recommendations were spot on! We ordered 10'' half cheese and half Veggie Deep Dish pizza. Fully cooked and they were so generous on the cheese

Sadly I had had the most amazing deep dish a few days before here so the pizza here just wasn't that great. The crust is horrible. It's like flour and water. No flavor or crispness. My fiancé ordered a Italian beef personal deep dish and it was just dry and tasteless. Good going they gave him and bowl of au jus to dip in. Disappointed in our lunch choice as I'm sure we could have had a bettter meal somewhere else. read more

Awesome - as expected! Stopped in (by myself) on a Sunday eve. Not too crowded, was able to sit at a table right away. Took a few minutes for server to show up - but as soon as he saw me, came over and said he'd be right there... did I know what I wanted to drink?... Came back in under 5 minutes, with my beer and a water. I ordered an individual pizza - good size when you are alone, but they are not as fresh as ordering from scratch. Also ordered 2 smalls to go (flying out next day). Came with an insulated bag - nice! Not cheap, but worth it to share with the family. Giordano's is an institution... better when sharing with friends/family, but still not a place to miss! read more
