We ordered a large deep dish with sausage, mushrooms, extra cheese and well done. We did this online. I wasn't feeling well and was happy to see they could deliver to Mundelein. The order was only about 5 mins late which is no biggie. However our pizza wasn't cooked all the way. We ended up dissecting the pizza and ate the toppings off of about half of it. The only crust that was fully cooked was the outter crust. The cheese in the middle wasn't all the way melted and all the rest of the dough was still raw. When I called to complain I was asked to take pictures of the dough and email them. I did this right away and then threw the rest of the pizza out..... in the dumpster. A different person called me after reviewing the photos and wanted more photos of what was left. I told him I already sent pictures and have thrown out the rest. The manager repeated you threw it out, in a way that made it seem like I was lying. I said yes why would I keep an undercooked torn up pizza? He asked if they could make another one and bring it. I said no this is our first time using this location and won't be going back. He wanted to know what could be done to make us happy. I told him to refund half of the money since we did eat at least half the toppings. I was told they can't refund anything on closed checks, but would give me a credit. I proceeded to tell them a credit is useless since we aren't going back. He was chuckling repeatedly while saying they are good at what they do and want to make me happy. I visited Giordano's for lunch on Oct. 20. My friend and I were working that day and didn't have much time, so we each ordered the pizza lunch special -- a personal-sized pizza and side of garlic Parmesan fries -- because we were told it would be ready faster than the deep dish we would have preferred. The pizzas were small and simple, and the fries were generously portioned. It was a nice amount of food and the lunch special was only about $8. I'll definitely keep Giordano's in mind for future lunches, but my priority is to future for deep dish when I have more time to spend there! read more

My team and I had a good experience at Giordanos. We were in the area for some customer work and Giordanos pizza was recommended to us as a must try, and I'm very glad we went. Our waitress was very nice and did a very good job making sure our waters and drinks were always full. We ordered the sampler appetizer which was quite large and everything on it was very good. We ordered a large deep dish pizza and devoured it. It was very very good. We've had other deep dish pizza in the area and honestly assumed it was going to be a copy cat of the others, and its definitely not. I was in Wheeling for a dance convention in the Westin Hotel. I couldn't come to Chicago without getting a deep dish. I ordered a custom small deep dish from their website. The pizza is good. I ordered it with pepperoni, artichoke, onions and spinach. I would have wanted the spinach to be mixed in as it was mushed to the crust. The crust was a bit over cooked but otherwise the pizza was good and had plenty of cheese. The driver was nice to call me that he was running 5 min behind the scheduled time which was greatly appreciated. He was prompt and nice. We had the Super Veggie Pizza and salad just like at the other location and were not disappointed. I also like how they tell you right away when you order the pizza that it will take about 25 minutes so at least you are prepared. Which brings up a good point, don't wait to put in your order until you are starving because you will have a long wait ahead of you and that wait will feel even longer if you are starving. We would have bought some frozen pizzas to take home but they only had the regular, pepperoni, and spinach. Many people have told me if you go to IL that you *must* try the Chicago style deep dish pizza. Because of that reason, I headed to Giordano's. This location is the closest to the hotel. We decided not to dine in and have it as carryout and eat at the hotel due to time because we have to wake up early the next morning. We decided on meat lovers deep dish pizza. The cashier told us it would be 40 minutes and we were okay with it. I mean, just *had* to try it cause it would be my only chance to. By 40 minutes, the pizza was ready and we took to hotel. Even though we got a small size, there will be 6 pieces. The box was heavy even though the pizza box was small. The pizza was a little messy because they didn't cut it all the way to the bottom but it's okay. Even though it's very gooey, the flavors were there. Some of the bacon pieces were burned at the top but no big deal cause the pizza is so delicious. We loved it so much, we talked about it the next day and where we could get something similar like this in Atlanta. I swear, so yummy! We weren't able to finish and had two pieces left. Unfortunately, we were sad that we had to trash the rest cause the hotel didn't have a fridge. We could've put in the car cause with Chicago's weather, it was below freezing. I love chicago style pizza!!! I would give 5 stars if I just had their pizza but I also had their appetizers. Their not AMAZING but they're just good. I did take star off because of their service. They gave our pizza away to another table and didn't even realize it until we asked them about our pizza! Not sure how that could happen and how the other table that ate our pizza didn't even notice. They had to start over and make us another pizza so we ended up waiting about an hour and a half. I must say though, they did their best to make it up to us. We ordered our dinner today before 5:00pm and after having our salad cancelled, we are still waiting for our pizza 2.5+ hours later. We live 14 mins from the location. The phone is barely picked up, and when it is, we are told "it's on the way"- which is what we have heard for over an hour now. No one will put us through to the driver or allow us to speak to the manager. Completely unacceptable to have dinner take this long and arrive after kids will need to go to bed. Since my original review I had nothing but terrible experiences here. The last straw was 2 disgusting pizzas that were completely thrown away. When I contacted the company they gave me the run around saying they will return my call/message. Fast forward me contacting them 5 times and approximately 6 months, they still did nothing to fix or refund the issue. Finally I got a message and a personal number to call for the new owner that took over the location after the fact and knew nothing about it. He IMMEDIATELY offered to fix the situation even though it had absolutely nothing to do with him. I have no plan to take him up on the offer since my issue has nothing to do with him. I'm a fan of Giordano's!! This location is particularly close to my job so I tend to go with co-workers for lunch. If we know we want deep dish pizza which is great here what we do is call in advance so the pizza is ready in a decent amount of time. Deep dish usually takes about 30-45mins to get it so we don't have all that time to wait for too long. My personal favorite is the pep deep dish however the sausage is also not bad. You can build your own pizza or get one of the favorites. Service is always attentive and fast. If we get soda, we usually do not have to harass the waitress to bring us more. Also, if you are there for lunch they do have lunch specials (mon-thurs) for individual deep dish pizza with a side so keep that in mind as well. read more

This is some of the worst service I've ever received. My husband I are were visiting Chicago and wanted to end the night with some pizza a little closer to our hotel. We sat down at around 8:15 and left at 10:00. It took forever to even get a water refill and it was pointless to order an appetizer because if didn't come until around an hour after we sat down. If there is a downside to this place, it's that pizza this thick takes 25 - 30 minutes to cook. No shortcuts. Appetizers are good and will help fill time during the wait for the pizza. This is not a quick in and out place, but the pizza is worth the wait! Service is good and efficient. On busy nights, the wait can be long to be seated due to cooking times. read more

We were recently in Chicago (Buffalo Grove area) for vacation and had to stop at this pizza place. The deep fried cheese curds are to die for and the deep dish pizza is amazing as always. The service was a little slow (I think our server forgot about us a few times for drink refills, etc., but it was very busy) and the bathroom could have been cleaner. I'll start this by telling you that I had a terrible, disappointing experience here a couple weeks ago. My husband and I recently moved to Kentucky and were craving some Chicago deep-dish pizza; so, while we were in town a couple weeks ago, we made plans to eat here at 6pm on a Saturday night with some friends. We should have gone somewhere else. First off all, this location doesn't take reservations. Fine. We showed up a few moments before we were to meet with friends and asked for a table for nine people. They quoted us at a thirty-minute wait. Since some people were running late, we were fine with that. We waited outside and let the host person know. Wasn't a problem with them -- other people were waiting outside too. An hour went by, and still no table. At this point, we had moved to the indoor waiting area and were getting cranky with rumbling tummies. One of us approached the hostess and asked what was going on. Apparently they seated a group of fifteen people that had come in after us because they thought that was our group (although we have nine people and gave them my husband's name). We were quite unhappy. When the group of fifteen left a few moments later, we were seated in their place and immediately given menus. Our drink orders were taken as the last of our friends arrived (they were over an hour late). All of us, knowing that the pizzas take about a half hour to cook, ordered appetizers because, well, we were pretty damn hungry at this point. Most of us ordered the fries. More time goes by. We notice that no appetizers have appeared at the table yet. It's been awhile -- longer than any hungry person should wait for appetizers. Annoyed, one of my friends approached the manager and asked what was going on. Get this: THERE WAS NO MANAGER ON DUTY. There wasn't even an official host/hostess. The restaurant was extremely short-staffed that night which explained the mix-ups and terrible service. Still, that doesn't excuse anything. However, the 'manager' -- who was apparently the head cook from the kitchen or something -- offered to personally serve our table. Our fries & appetizers arrived shortly before 8pm -- and yes, the 'manager' served a couple of those plates. We scarved down our appetizers quickly; our pizza appeared moments afterwards. By this point, none of us even wanted the pizzas anymore. Most of the pizzas were boxed up. And then, of course, we waited another half hour or so for the bills to arrive/be figured out. Sigh. So... our thirty-minute wait turned into an hour and we didn't eat until an hour after that. NOT ACCEPTABLE. We had expected to be done with our meal by 8pm. Instead, we left the restaurant around 10pm.... exhausted. The 'manager' ended up giving us 20% off the bill. It was a nice gesture, but with taxes & tips, we payed as much as the original bill.
