On this bright and sunny morning, I had to haul myself out of the house, on my day off, and go visit my cardiologist. They require that I see them twice a year in order for them to determine whether or not my heart is still beating. Needless to say, I passed with flying colors. Now going to the cardiologist always makes me hungry and there's a place over in Liberty that I've been wanting to try for quite some time now it's called Ginger Sue's. So, after my appointment I headed over towards Liberty walked in sat down and ordered up the Gravy Scramble. The Gravy Scramble, consisted of skillet fried potatoes, sausage, ham, mushroom and cheddar-jack cheese and three scrambled eggs topped with peppered sausage gravy. Good breakfast! I agree with the other reviews that that pancakes ARE incredible. A meal in itself! Because it's fall and today is Apple fest day everywhere we ordered an Apple cinnamon one a la carte to share and it was huge, fluffy, and delicious. My main breakfast ended up being the Ginger Sue Special - a basic 2-egg breakfast. I probably should have ordered the Eggs Benedict or the West Coast omelette, but the potatoes were flavorful and the bacon... well I see why they give you 4. It's candied and so good! Even the toast was good. The wait wasn't too bad - 20 mins and it gave us a chance to shop around the square. My eggs were kind of boring though :/ I'd come here again though and order something else. read more

Damn you Ginger Sue. Your pancakes are incredible, the atmosphere of the little diner is perfect, yet you're more than 30 minutes away from my house! Dying to try this after seeing all the pancake photos on Yelp, my wife and I took a little morning day trip over to Liberty on a random summer weekday. The timing had to be just right because staring down a 30+ minute drive early in the morning had the potential to equal pure, unadulterated hangriness. We made it, and I knew the pancakes would be good but wasn't ready for just how good. These pancakes are fluffy, served with soft, whipped butter and syrup. They feature classic flavors like blueberry with compote, apple cinnamon (my choice), peanut butter banana and original. A half stack of two is enough, and in the words of our server, "I've never seen anyone eat a full stack. Not even hungry teenagers coming in after practice." The maple bacon side is worth it too. I was skeptical when they told us that it's not crispy and comes out floppy but went with it and was glad I did. Peppery, mapley and it came out in a huge portion. My wife and I had a blast and jokingly but slightly legitimately left bummed that it will be pretty inaccessible for us to get here again. Definitely a hidden gem in old town Liberty. I'm a out of town season ticket holder for the Chiefs and when there are night games, we stay over in the KC area and grab breakfast before heading home. My significant other happened to come across Ginger Sue's, so we thought we'd give it a try since we always try and support local restaurants when we can. I've now eaten here three times and have loved every meal. Two meals consisted of the vegetarian omelette and the last was the peanut butter banana pancakes .... OMG, so freaking good! This is one of two locations in the KC area. With street and lot parking options are nearby, this is an easy choice for a weekday breakfast stop. We dropped in on a Monday morning. The space is cozy and inviting. Staff gave a friendly greeting and helped us to our seats. The business has barside seating, tables, booths and a more private room that overlooks the dining space. The menu is a delight. A nice variety of popular breakfast items, like omelettes, scrambles, biscuits and gravy, smoothies, coffees, and hearty sandwiches. We ordered a west coast omelette and a Ginger's classic with Turkey sausage, plus a pancake to split. The omelette was filling and pancake was a knockout. The Turkey sausage was a bit rubbery and didn't have much flavor, but the over easy eggs and seasoned breakfast potatoes were amazing. I'd definitely recommend this spot for breakfast or brunch. $9 for their seasonal Blueberry Stuffed French Toast?! It was two slices of wimpy bread with purple specks. I sent it back and the cook said they would still charge me because she "didn't do anything wrong". This "meal" was pathetic. Oh, and my mom's salad was wilted and my sister got about a half cup of cold fries. Visited this location for breakfast. Server was kind n attentive and did a great job . I had received my food and as I took a bite of the West Coast Omelette it was very sugary sweet. I re-read the description of the menu From online " Take in the warmth of seasoned bacon , sliced avocados, and shredded cheddar Jack cheese. Topped with salsa and sour cream ." The menu should have stated in the description-- the specific - seasoning as I was expecting a savory breakfast -- if bacon is maple or seasoned with sugar then it should be labeled as such . As most bacon is salty. The waitress was like let's get u something else . So I ordered same breakfast but with chorizo as she said that wouldn't be sweet . Then a manager came to table asked me what was wrong with my food -- I explained it was too sweet and on the menu of that item it didn't say it was sweet sugary bacon -- she said " since this was not their fault I would also have to pay for the new meal coming out . I told her I want nothing do not make the meal . Then she just turned around without saying any anything else and walked away. Never have I been treated in such a way . I will not be back . I sure hope someone tells this person she needs to be trained on customer service as it appeared the staff also was not on board with how she treated me . read more

Great service, our waitress was very friendly and extremely attentive. We had speedy meal delivery on Mother's Day brunch. My son liked the Don't be Crabby omelet but said he wished it had more ingredients than just the meat and cheese, he wanted some veggie in it. I ordered the Aloha omelet and it was good but the eggs were a little overdone. Rest of our table had pancakes and they enjoyed them! Went to Ginger Sue's for the first time on a Saturday after picking up out of town family from the airport. Cute place, no wait which we appreciated. Service was a tad slow but not annoyingly. Two in our party ordered the eggs Benedict and said it was very good but only warm, not "hot". Found that to also be the case with the omelette I ordered. That was the most disappointing. We were half finished with our breakfast before our server stopped by to ask how everything was so no point in asking if it could be reheated. read more
