Castaway
Ashlee S.

Ginger at MGM National Harbor I recently stopped by Ginger before a concert at the MGM, and the convenience alone made it an easy choice. Since it was my first visit, I was excited to try something new, and overall, it was a solid pre-show dinner experience. My dining companion and I shared the Ginger Salad, Edamame, and Crab Fried Rice topped with a soft-shell crab. The standouts were definitely the salad and the fried rice. The Ginger Salad was fresh, flavorful, and one of my favorite dishes of the evening, though I do think the portion was a bit small for the price. The Crab Fried Rice was delicious, generously portioned, and easily shareable. The soft-shell crab on top was a nice touch. The edamame, however, missed the mark for me. It was a little overcooked and fairly bland. The menu mentions crispy garlic, but I wish it had been incorporated more as a sauce or seasoning to better distribute the flavor throughout the dish. For drinks, I ordered the Castaway, a refreshing gin cocktail that paired perfectly with dinner. My dining companion enjoyed a glass of wine followed by a skinny margarita. Both were well-made and helped kick off our concert night. Service was good overall, and our server was friendly, but we did have to ask for a few items multiple times, including a straw and the edamame. Nothing major, but it did stand out. The restaurant itself is spacious with attractive décor and beautiful views of the promenade. It's a versatile space that would work well for both date nights and larger group dinners. My only disappointment is that there isn't any bar seating, which would have been nice for those looking to grab a quick bite or drink before a show. One thing I'd love to see added is sushi. It feels like a natural fit for the menu and would give guests even more options. The prices are definitely on the steep side, but that's somewhat expected when dining inside the MGM resort. Overall, Ginger offers a pleasant atmosphere, good cocktails, and a few standout dishes that make it worth considering if you're already heading to MGM for a concert or event.

I come here frequently whenever I'm at MGM casino--probably the best restaurant in here, and they are open late, which is a huge benefit when hungry at night. Service is pretty good too. Overall, the food is good, not the best out there, but it's consistently good! For soups, Hot & Sour Soup, Oxtail Soup, Wonton Noodle Soup, Minced Beef Congee or Pork & Century Egg Congee are my top favorites. For entrees, highly recommend House-Style Diced Beef, Ginger & Scallion House-Style Lobster, Honey Walnut Prawns, Crispy & Spicy Pork Chops, Peking Roasted Duck, and Soft-Shell Crab Fried Rice. Obviously since the restaurant is located in a casino, the prices here are indeed overpriced--but you are able to use your MGM comps! Just be prepared to spend here.

Went here on a saturday night and was seated relatively quickly. There are a variety of dishes to choose from but everything is so expensive. I thought the quality would be better for what we are paying for but I would not want to go back. Everything was below average and was not close to authentic. Someone we were eating with said usually the food is better but something about this place was off and bad. Lamb chops barely had any meat on the bone. The noodle soup was really salty and the fried rice and pad thai had no flavor. the portions are relatively big but would not want to go back again. Save yourself and go somewhere else.

We were a party of 6 (3 couples) & thankfully had our 6:15om reservation before the Russell Peters show. I would have given 5 but pricing increased soo much. Our server was Jennifer & she was awesome Our BIL came to $710 w/tip ($110), we did order a lot though - fish maw soup, lobster w/scallion ginger sauce, pecking duck, shrimp fried rice, yochoy veggie, vegetable spring rolls & steamed seabass. ** the pecking duck is way better than Pecking Gourmet

Great ambiance, food was flavorful, service was wonderful. Deserved 5 stars in my book. Located within the MGM Grand Casino, so price was high but I felt like that was expected. Portions were huge. Went with a group of 6 and did family style dinner- we were all stuffed.

I don't understand the negative reviews on this. I think it was great! They took us in right away, no wait on a Friday night. Drinks were strong and good. Portions were good size. We got a bunch of dishes and split them all, and each dish was great!! The chicken wings were fire!!!!! The only negative thing I would say is the prices are a little higher than I would expect for this type of food but people need to consider the location.

Delicious selection of Asian cuisines. My go to is usually the lo mein as it's so yummy eaten fresh! Ask about the oysters! When available they're PLUMP and deliciously yummy! Minzy is such a sweetheart and always so accommodating to my family and I! She makes the experience here worth it every time and even remembers our favorite orders or dishes! Right outside the casino next to the conservatory you can enjoy a nice view while eating in an open space.

Convenient location inside the MGM. Had dinner right before a concert. Made dinner reservations. They were able to accommodate an addition. Really nice atmosphere. Good service. Food was okay for me. It's expensive. We ordered the duck, edamame, and salted fish and chicken fried rice.

Garlic snow pea shoots and Salt & Pepper pork chops with jalapeños and peppercorns. Don't forget the side of chilies.

Ginger is located in MGM casino and is one of plethora of dining options. More casual than fine dining and the wait time was short. We came before the dinner rush on a weekday and the casino's garage parking was easy. In cantonese fashion, the dishes were delicious. The menu is extensive and the service was friendly. Salt and pepper pork chop was incredibly crisp and seasoned well. I love the added crispy jalapeños and side of chilies. The garlic snow pea shoots is my personal favorite and I could've eaten that alone. Not pictured is chicken and salty fish fried rice to take home. It was loaded with chicken, very pungent, and filling. There's no doubt this place can get busy as it picked up toward the end of my visit. Consider especially during conference season (nearby Gaylord Resort) and holiday months as the lobby is decorated elaborately. Definitely plan your visit!

The food was served cooked to order but the flavoring wasn't as seasoned as I would've liked it to be. The ambiance was nice and the service was fast. I would definitely probably try them again

Do they still offer dim sum on the weekends?

Yes

Good options for vegans?

There were some vegetarian options on the menu but I'm not 100% certain on the vegan options but I wouldn't doubt that some of the items can be made into vegan meals.

We arrived around 6 PM without a reservation, and since the restaurant wasn't very busy, we were seated immediately. Our server, Dawn, was AMAZING! She was attentive, friendly, and made excellent food recommendations. The restaurant gave my goddaughter a thoughtful gift bag filled with little goodies, which was such a sweet and unexpected gesture! The food was absolutely delicious! We enjoyed the catfish fingers, shrimp fried rice, chicken dumplings, and crème brûlée. Everything was flavorful, beautifully prepared, and thoroughly enjoyed. From the exceptional service to the delicious food and thoughtful hospitality, we were extremely pleased with every aspect of our visit. We will definitely be returning and highly recommend Grace's for a wonderful dining experience!

For starters, the food presentation can be rather sloppy, which takes away from the dining experience. The atmosphere is also a bit of a mixed bag. In the evening, the darker setting feels more fitting, but during the daytime, the restaurant comes across as dark and dreary. The tables are also entirely too small, which becomes especially inconvenient once the food starts arriving. On a positive note, the service has been good, and the food itself is solid. It's certainly not the best Chinese cuisine I've had, but it's decent. I just wish the presentation and overall dining experience matched the quality of the food a little better.

Last night was my first time in Alexandria and what a cute area! Absolutely loved the vibes all…read morearound, and Kisso was the perfect spot to kick things off. We started with the yellowtail jalapeño and the black pepper tuna tataki. The yellowtail was absolutely the standout for me! The buttery texture of the fish and flavors complemented each other so well. The jalapeño with the ponzu just worked, and it all sat on a bed of what I believe was shaved radish that was sauced really nicely. Everything about that dish came together beautifully. The tuna tataki ran a little on the drier side for me... but I'm now remembering it may have came with a sauce that I completely forgot to use, so that one's on me LOL. We ordered a bunch of sushi for the table and got some really great options. The black dragon roll was really good, and the Kisso roll was very good too, though it's a deep fried roll and those just aren't my personal favorite style. My favorite roll of the night by far was the mermaid roll. Absolutely delicious! We also shared a couple of hand rolls. The spicy salmon was unlike anything I've had before: the salmon was finely ground and mixed with crunchies, which made for such a cool texture. Really enjoyed it! Next time I think I'd ask for a side of spicy mayo to dip it in, which I think would take it totally over the top. The Philadelphia hand roll was good as well, and you could tell the fish was super fresh, but the cream cheese ratio was a lot for me and threw off the balance a bit. Personal preference though, because the ingredients themselves were delicious! Overall such a lovely dinner. Fresh fish, great vibes, and a cute neighborhood to stroll around after. Definitely coming back next time I'm in the area!

Since Indonesian food isn't easy to find in the DMV, I'm really grateful to have Artha Rini so close to home. The restaurant itself is small, casual, and welcoming, and everyone we interacted with was genuinely friendly. I ordered the Soto Ayam, and it was exactly what I was hoping for--warm, comforting, and flavorful without needing to add much of anything. My wife had the Pecel Lele, which was tasty, though the fish was just a little overcooked. My only other minor complaint is that I wish the portions were a bit larger. One thing to note is that the menu leans pretty heavily on coconut milk, which can be tricky for my wife because she has a sulfite allergy. What really impressed us, though, was Artha herself. She patiently answered all of our questions and even told us that if we call ahead, she'll source the one brand of coconut milk that doesn't contain sulfites so she can prepare dishes my wife can safely enjoy. That level of care and customer service is hard to find these days, and it's more than enough reason for us to keep coming back. We're excited to work our way through the rest of the menu.

It was decent, sauce was on the side so that helped a lot from being super soggy. This was probably the only decent thing at a reasonable price. Hunan style combination was salty, the walnut shrimp was soggy as well, I guess i could have reheated this up as well since it was fried in batter. Shrimp was big and plumpy, there was no sauce that came with it on the side, only this yumyum sauce. Not sure if it was for that, if it was, very meh since the sauce is salty and not sweet. My favorite thing to get at other asian places is the Gway Tiow aka Chow Fun, but it was super soggy. The noodles were over cooked, it was also a tad salty, the lo mein was salty too, and the pad thai was meh, noodles were over cooked. I picked it up and the noodles would fall off the chopsticks and tasted mushy. It didn't have much flavor to it anyways. Kinda disappointing since of all the high ratings and the pics look tasty.
