Free management tip - 11:45-12:00 is not a great time to close your restrooms for cleaning. New menu is nice. Extensive if your into sushi and such. Tried the fried rice with chicken. Tried this place simply because I love asian food. Not a bad place to eat. It's really three restaurants in one. They have a sushi bar and a decent selection of rolls and sashimi. We tried the pink lady, Lincoln, and Phoenix rolls. All were good and different. Full of fresh ingredients and had some nice flare and look. They also are a Mongolian grill, much like HuHot in Lincoln and Omaha. Mostly the same ingredients however they do have more seafood options to choose from. This is what they have for the Mongolian grill, even for lunch: beef, chicken, pork, crab, shrimp, clams, fish, and bay scallops. The third part of the restaurant is off the cuff asian menu items like asian hot dogs, lettuce wraps, asian tacos, and more and a full service bar. The building and decor is fantastic. Lots of glass, stone and stainless steel. This place is very upscale and trendy. The high ceilings and excellent ventilation left no lingering odor on our clothing as we left which is a bit of a pet peeve of mine at other Mongolian grills. The free standing building is absolutely huge and I bet you could fit 250 people in it. Probably one of the largest restaurants in south lincoln and a real treat to try. On the downside, no private room. I am always in need of private rooms for work meetings and they do not offer one. Price is another consideration as things are mostly in the mid to high range. Our party of 3 ate for just under $100 and no alcoholic beverages were ordered. I would expect the average person to expect to spend $30-$40 each with apps, dinner and drinks. Unless you eat like a bird and just order a salad and water, then your at $10. ;) read more

We went for the first time for lunch last Sunday & food, service and atmosphere were superior! We ordered the "Happy Hour" California Roll as an appetizer for $4 and the Mongolian all-u-can eat buffet for $13 and once was enough for me. Lots of seafood choices like shrimp, scallops and mock crab, in addition to the usual meat choices. Very fresh ingredients & clean buffet. We are heading back tonight for a business dinner. I have always loved this place and it's been my top sushi spot for a would now! The sushi is absolutely to die for. Our servers have always been polite and courteous. As for the grill, it's amazing too!! Lots of options which is lovely for those who are picky! This is a great spot for those who want sushi but perhaps your friend or family member doesn't like sushi since it has the best of both worlds. I've been to Ginger lots of times with my kids. As a single mom going to a restaurant can be very stressful, but at Ginger my dining experience is never stressful. I really love sushi and at Ginger, with them having both the option of sushi and a Mongolian grill I can feed my small children the grill while I wait for the rest of my food to finish! The staff has always been very helpful and kind. The decor in the dining area is very family friendly. The decor also makes for a nice date night restaurant by the bar, the lighting is darker by the bar which can make for a romantic setting! The place is basically a fancy huhot, with more expensive options and sushi. Although the staff was very friendly and welcoming, we couldn't believe we couldn't have a to-go box for our leftovers from our last round of the Mongolian grill. On 4/23/23 my wife and I went to Ginger today, we had an expired Groupon to use, knowing it had expired, but there was still a $12.00 value. When we presented the Groupon, the waiter had to check with is manager to ask how to use it. When the waiter came back, he told us that his manager said they know longer take them. We explained that the Groupon states, that it NEVER Expires. Once the manager final came out to talk to us, he was wanting to see our account on our phone. We stated that's not necessary, we had the printed copy and never had to show that to anyone before. My wife said "it's simple, you take off the $12.00" granted, she wasn't happy at this point. Then the manager just disappeared leaving the waiter to deal with it. The waiter apologized and even offered to pay the $12.00 so we would be happy. We said no, this shouldn't be on him. The manager never did come back to talk to us or tell us anything about the Groupon. He clearly doesn't have a clue on how to treat customers or any type of conflict management. We just wanted the $12.00 removed from our bill, that's it! We told the waiter if the manager doesn't come back in 5 minutes, we are just going to leave. Not five minutes later we had a bill with the $12.00 removed. I just hope the waiter didn't take a hit for us. We did tip him well, but needless to say, we will not be going back to this place. read more

The server was great! The food, meh. I was allergic to the first thing I tried to order (the server checked for me), so I ended up with sushi. My side salad was great! I am a very light eater, but I had to eat 1/2 a sandwich at home after I finished my meal (the 2 roll combo). The meat was non-existent in my two rolls (both shrimp). I must have been allergic to one of the sauces, since I'm feeling a slight reaction tonight. Normally a little sauce on my sushi roll wouldn't be a real issue, but the roll was literally swimming in it. Both rolls together were about the same amount of food as one roll at our usual restaurant (and not as much meat). My husband enjoyed the Mongolian grill, but I was hesitant to try that without checking the ingredients in the sauces. It did not look as good as another grill in town, and that is expecting too much from a server, though. He had to wait a long time for someone to come out and cook his food. Never give your business to Ginger. I had the party room reserved 4+ weeks ago for my sons 21st bday party my son has special needs and I explained to the business I need a quiet area for him due to his needs they said no problem and I was the only one who had a large party scheduled that day so I wasn't worried but...... They kicked me out 4 hours before the party because a bigger group was coming(30 people) and it was the managers discretion who gets the room. The solution "we can seat you in the dining room but cant guarantee you will all be together for your party" Um Hello its a bday party the point is to be together to celebrate. I wont ever give my money to a place that doesn't respect or care about customers and customer service. I was sent scrambling to find someone else to accommodate our large bday party it was such a horrible situation to be put in 4 hours before a scheduled party. Manager didn't even have the balls to call me! I again explained how important this was to the staff who did call but got nowhere. We used to eat here frequently but not anymore. My sons day was ruined all he wanted for his bday was a party at Ginger but I had to break his heart and tell him we had to go somewhere else. read more

Very unsafe place to eat!!! I ordered take out and they handed me the wrong order. They called me 10 minutes later and told me, so I turned around and headed back. They handed me my correct order (the one that had been sitting there for 20 minutes) and I asked if they were going to compensate me for driving 30 extra minutes for their mess up. The host went to get the manager and while I was waiting for the manager they took the bag of food I had brought back and handed it to the customer who had been waiting for 20 minutes! I told them that was a serious health code violation to which they replied "this happens all the time". (What!?!?!) I told the guy, I had driven away with that food 20 minutes ago (it was a hot order). They all acted like someone leaving for 20 minutes with food and then bringing it back to give to another customer was totally normal. Mind blown. They offered no refund for the screw up and the manager just walked away when I called her out on the violation. This place won't be in business much longer once someone gets sick. read more

I came here with my family for dinner when we were in Lincoln one day and really liked it! We were pretty early, so getting seated/ordering/getting our food was super quick. My parents don't really like sushi, so I thought it was great that there were plenty of cooked, non-sushi options. We had the avocado egg rolls, teriyaki salmon, miso salmon, and orange chicken. The avocado egg rolls have quickly become a family favorite and I can't recommend them highly enough as an appetizer or a smaller meal! The teriyaki salmon and orange chicken both came with the same thinly sliced, cooked vegetables (carrots, peppers, zucchini, etc) on the side- I feel like I have to mention these because they were so well done! The miso salmon comes with asparagus instead of mixed vegetables, and the asparagus was pretty good, but the mixed vegetables were just fantastic! The salmon is a good size and tastes great, and the orange chicken was super crispy. My family has been back a few times since- our favorite thing to get is definitely the avocado egg rolls! I would recommend Ginger to anyone looking for good asian food in Lincoln! read more

This was my first visit to Ginger. I have had it on the list for awhile, but I don't get out much. Today I had an afternoon to kill while I waited on some car repairs, so I walked over there. The menu offered some typical Asian favorites, a Mongolian grill and a sushi bar. I like raw sushi, but to me, it's a date thing. I went with the (cooked) tempura salmon sushi roll and the ginger soup, which was part of the sushi lunch special: sushi and a side. The sushi was fantastic! The tempura salmon was amazing on its own, and I would definitely buy that anytime. I thought about getting another roll to go. The carrot ginger soup was great as well...just spicy enough. The atmosphere was modern and not noisy, but there were few people there in the mid-afternoon when I was there. I wish there were more booths by windows, but it wasn't a deal-breaker. Jacob, my server, was so helpful and patient with all my newbie questions. I will definitely be going again soon. read more

This is a really nice, clean restaurant. I was in Lincoln, NB for business and needed lunch before my flight as I knew the airport was limited. It was hard to find via GPS but made my way. The Owner/Manager was "hands-on" and personable young man. The food was good but I wish the sushi menu was a more vast. It seem they all have wasabi integrated. I did like the fact they can deep fry any role for an extra $1. The crab rangoon was really tasty. read more

I am so not happy with this new restaurant in Lincoln! I usually don't give restaurant this bad rate! First, the service is ridiculously awful! We had been sitting down the table for more than 10 mins and the waitress was still not stopping by the table, and the restaurant was not full. Let me start this review by saying that if you are looking for a sushi place where every item is perfect this probably isn't the place for you but if you are looking for a place with nice decor to drink and have sushi with friends or a significant other in a casual atmosphere Ginger might be a good match for you. I certainly like Ginger. I like it so much that my boyfriend and I probably eat there twice a month. My boyfriend has a shellfish allergy and Ginger has a wide variety of menu items that help us work around it. We have only ever gone during happy hour and only occasionally stray from the happy hour menu. Happy hour is from 3 to 7 Monday through Saturday and all day on Sunday. The happy hour menu is decently sized and the prices are fabulous. It offers a variety of drinks, appetizers, cooked items, sushi, sushimi, and desserts. I find some of their mixed drinks to be a bit on the sweet side but then again... I don't care for sweets. For me, the Bloody Mary and the Cosmopolitan are the stars of the show. My boyfriend, loves the sweet drinks. His favourites are the Lemon Drop and the Sakitini. The onion rings have a nice tempura batter and are served with a wasabi ranch that I personally love. We have only had the edamame once and found it quite over seasoned. The sushi rolls on the happy hour menu are all uramaki. The fried sweat potato roll, Peanut avocado, Philadelphia roll, fresh yellow fin tuna, and fresh salmon rolls are quite tasty. A couple of the other rolls feature fish that has been shredded and mixed with some sort of sauce which is a texture aesthetic I don't personally care for. The first time we went we got great service from Danielle. Now, we ask for her every time. She is an awesome server who always makes us laugh. When she isn't in we ask for Sayvon. He's quick, accurate, personable and effective. Neither of our preferred wait staff rushes us to order or rushes us out when we are done eating regardless of how big the crowd is. The only reason I do not give Ginger a five star rating is due to the people who go there. My boyfriend and I are in our early 30's, live downtown and are happy to not have children. Ginger is Asian fusion made for the Midwestern palette. They have lots of options for people who are uneasy about fresh fish including Americanized Chinese food and a Mongolian grill. Which, a lot of people find appealing. The Mongolian Grill in particular seems to attract loud crowds of families with screaming kids at peak restaurant hours. Luckily, Ginger is large enough for privacy if that is your desire. In my opinion ginger has far more ups than downs. Overall, It's a great place to go for some cheap drinks accompanied by sushi. Ginger's decor is very sleek and modern. Happy Hour is in the bar area, where you can either sit at the sushi bar and watch the magic happen, select a booth for a bit of privacy or sit at one of the hightops. The music is modern radio fair, a bit better than the usual surfer/semi Asian background music most places default to. I started with the pineapple mojito which was ready quickly (Ginger has a full bar opposite the sushi bar.) The drink was super pretty (I care about those kind of things) but outside of that, I wasn't impressed. There was something a bit off about it but I couldn't place what. Would probably try a Mai Tai or Gingertini next go round. The first item that arrived was my crab rangoon. These were winners because they actually had crab in them! Not just the blah cream cheese most places pass off as crab rangoon. They came out super crispy and the sweet and sour sauce wasn't too thick or sweet. Definitely the best thing I had that night. For sushi I went with the spicy tuna roll which again was a great portion (8 pieces) and well presented. These rolls were as fresh as sushi can be in a landlocked Midwestern city. Came here for my birthday for the first time, which was on a Tuesday. Had happy hour specials plus it was 1/2 price bottles of wine! Started off with two appetizers of Crab Rangoon (HH price is $4.50). I'm not usually a fan of it but I was quite pleased. My husband and I both got sushi, some off the HH a menu and some not. I also had to try steak kabobs which were SO good! Steak cooked just right. We got a bottle of Black Ink wine which is now my favorite red. Didn't take any pictures of the food unfortunately, but the display was nice. Way too much food, but the kabob heated up nicely for lunch the next day. Our bill was a little high but realized the wine wasn't half price. Not too bad for a birthday dinner! read more

This place offers a very wide variety of types of food. They have sushi, salad, all types of stuff. They have this bar thing where you fill a bowl of stuff up (noodles, meat, etc.) pick your sauce, and they fry it up for you, for about $13. That's what I got to eat. This restaurant was very clean. Maybe it was because it was a Monday night, but everything seemed so neat. The design was really nice, everything worked really well together. All of the chairs were lined up nicely. I really love clean restaurants. The food was a little too salty for my liking, but I was the one who picked out my sauce so I can't really complain much there. I ate all of it. Like most other places in Lincoln, they are a Pepsi restaurant. That is my only complaint about this place. I tried my grandmas orange chicken and it was amazing. It was cooked really great and had an amazing sauce on it. This place is a little pricy, but it is worth it. The food here is great, and the restaurant set up is amazing. read more
