Once, to grab a menu, a second time to remind them that I was outside and was easy to place my order . Bad service. Once I did so, at least, the food came out fast. Too fast (microwaved ) but whatever. I had the lunch special which came with a small soup, hot and sour, egg fried rice and chili chicken. I also ordered a Thai tea. The hot and sour soup was neither hot not sour, unsalted, kind of oily, too garlicky and had these odd pieces of stuff that resembled chorizo floating in it. The chili chicken and the rice were ok. I live about an hour away, but recently got together with some friends nearby and they ordered Ginger Cafe as takeout so we tried it for the first time- it was so good (and that was when we had to reheat it!) that I went back with my partner for our pre-Christmas dinner. It was easy to get a table- because we made a reservation, they gave us a lovely booth in the back. Very clean and simple look- it is focused on the food. The waitstaff was friendly and attentive. Bathrooms nice and clean. The first thing on the table was our steamed bbq pork buns- some of the best steamed pork buns I have ever had! The bread was cloud-like and the filling was just enough- a tasty flavor. Then came the Ha Gao shrimp dumplings- just so delicious. I could eat 30 of them in one sitting and regret nothing. Then we received the Shanghai pork dumplings- these were the star of the show- if you order only one thing here, let it be these. Savory and juicy and warm. Unreal. Then came the egg fried rice and the candied pecan prawns. The rice is simple in the best way- a good amount of sesame oil, which I love, and they give you a solid amount for just 4$! The prawns are excellent- we had to take some for leftovers because we ordered so much food and gobbled the rest up at home happily. I ordered the satay three delight. It was really good and it had calamari, chicken, and shrimp with fried rice and a soup for appetizer. I would go back again. It's a little more expensive than what Im used to but the quality and freshness of the dish is worth it. My friends and I came here for a little celebration dinner, but our experience at the restaurant was average. The interior design and atmosphere was very nice and lovely when we stepped in. I thought their front menu items were also very cute to look at too. For example, they had pig shaped custard buns and stingray shaped steamed dumplings! Service needs a lot of work as it is slow... Although the staff was friendly, they were not attentive. We were seated for quite some time and had to flag down a person to just get our drink orders in. One of the dishes we wanted to order was the lobster... but they ran out that night! The Peking duck came with tortillas, which was different from the usual steamed buns. Some chinese restaurant have option whether you wanna go with steam rice or fried rice, my husband ordered fried rice and that is the best chinese fried rice I have ever had in The State in Chinese restaurants. I was really expecting a lot more based on photos here on Yelp and a lot of positive reviews. I had heard positive things about this restaurant as well over the last few years so I'm honestly shocked. I ordered this food to be delivered so maybe the in person experience is better? Ordered the crispy tofu with mandarin sauce $18..... how do I say this... a better description would be soggy tofu in garlic and scallion sauce with some orange seeds that will hurt your teeth and orange food coloring. There were even dried chili's in this dish but not a hint of any spice whatsoever. It was basically inedible- flavorless and mushy in the worst way except for the garlic flavor which I definitely didn't want or expect. The steamed rice $2.50 was also partially soggy and was low quality rice with a lot of black pieces of rice. I find that hard to stomach. Finally ordered some sesame balls $6. I think they would have been fine but they were absolutely cooked in dirty oil and it was very obvious from the taste. Also inedible. Am I disappointed? Hell yeah. Almost $40 and it was lower quality than I could get from Panda Express for $11. I don't think I will try this place again. read more

Came here to meet up with a friend. We ordered the appetizer sampler, salt & pepper calamari, firecracker beef, and the tilapia fish with chili. The appetizers were alright. The firecracker beef tasted more like broccoli beef from any other Chinese restaurant but with ginger. The tilapia was crispy and had a nice sweet flavor to it. Couldn't really taste any heat from the plentiful amount of Chili's they added. (The chili's were still whole and not split open. Not sure if that makes a difference.) My favorite was the salt and pepper calamari. It was chewy and cooked just right. They split the calamari meat so that there is more surface to get crispy when fried. There was just enough seasonings to make it my favorite for the evening. Loved the fried jalapeños it had too. Later, the server came to check on us and she offered good boba places to try. Above average prices for below average food. We had the garlic shrimp noodles that had some flavor but overly sweet. Chow mein with dry pork and lots of large cut raw vegetables. Wonton soup also did not have too much flavor. Crab wraps advertised as wonton wrapped were actually in sort of a dough. Pork dumplings were actually ok and pretty good for the price. I liked the ginger sauce.Fortune cookies....on point. Some of the decor looks nice but everything is very outdated.Our plates showed signs over very heavy use and showed lots of scratches. We ordered via a food delivery service and our food was well prepared, nicely packaged and most importantly, the order was accurate. We tried a variety of dishes, including a few dim sum dishes, and they were pretty good. The dim sum dumplings were tasty and well prepared. My chicken fried rice, which is one of my favorite fried rice dishes, was unfortunately pretty bland...better than too salty I guess.
