When we were applying for life insurance and disability, the insurance company required us to get all the testing that had been suggested and was documented in the records. Because my husband is too young to qualify for a colonoscopy based on screening guidelines, we had to pay out-of-pocket to get this test. Fast forward, during the colonoscopy they found a giant polyp which according to the gastroenterologist would've been invasive cancer by the time he was old enough to qualify for screening.
