The injury lingered for many months and seemed to get a little bit better until I re-injured my back in the spring again, after stacking a few runs and races back to back... I realized then that I had definitely gotten myself stuck in a cycle of repeat weakness and injuries! And nothing I tried seemed to help. In fact, I was losing some mobility and stretching only seemed to make everything worse. But then I discovered Balance Wellness, and things took a turn for the best! Chris was very thorough during his initial examination and asked lots of questions to which I provided as many detailed answers as I could. We established the nature of my aches and he explained to me how acupuncture works, what to expect from our sessions. I really appreciate his transparency. Chris is very good at making you feel safe and like you're in good hands. When I walked into his office, it was my first time trying out acupuncture. I had only ever seen it performed on others, including my cat. Establishing trust between patient and practitioner is important. With Chris, everything felt natural. Kudos to him! I've done a few sessions with Chris. But I can share with you all that after two sessions, I could already feel a huge difference. I came in with a glute so achy and tight that I couldn't bend easily anymore. Now, the glute pain is gone and I have regained my mobility! Acupuncture at Balance Wellness was a game changer for me. While some areas still need some work (I'm also simultaneously working with a PT to strengthen glutes, back and core muscles), 90-95% of the lower back pain I was experiencing is gone. I can run again and I have been running steady miles for 8 weeks straight now. Previously, I have had to stop my training for a week at a time due to glute and lower back pain. Gives you an idea how far we've come! In scenarios where the anxiety would usually spike (wedding prep) I've been able to stay more grounded and in the comfort of my body. I appreciated the way he explained that the treatment wasn't a cure all, but worked best with different modalities as well (yoga, breathwork, therapy, supplements.) Chris has such wonderful, beautiful, supportive energy, and that paired with his ability to be so present is no doubt a huge part of the healing experience. At my first appointment, he really took the time to get to know me and to understand my chronic neck and shoulder pain. Seriously, he worked with me for more than 2 hours!
