What a great company! I scheduled to have Jerod come and give me an estimate on a sewer scope and possible line repair. We had some silty water come up the toilets. Also, we have an 112 year old house, so we were worried about our sewer pipes. A day before our appointment sewage started backing up into our side yard. I called to see if I should reschedule, or if they also could flush the line. Jerod referred me to a plumber who could flush the line and also offered to come and scope it after it was cleared. He came and checked the line with his scope and Spartan Services cleared the pipe. Luckily there was no damage to the pipe and it doesn't need to be replaced. He didn't charge me for the scope because I had only scheduled an estimate. Then he found a cap for my sewer clean out, and didn't charge for that either! He saved me $200, and spent over an hour and a half in the cold rain just to help me out! I would highly recommend Gillette for any sewer issues you may have. read more

I would like to share my experience I had with Jason at Gillette Construction. Our house is under contract with a buyer whose inspector wasn't sure what he was looking at on the sewer scope. All he knew is that there were "a couple of cracks and holes" in the line, but that was it. We needed to have a professional come and perform a second more thorough scope and my real estate agent set us up with Gillette Construction. Let me preface this with some background: our house is in the Historic District. It was built in 1892. And if you've ever had an old house, you know that they are individual works of art ... and pits of despair. I THOROUGHLY appreciated Jason's knowledge of how historic homes sewer lines are ran and how well-versed he is with Tacoma's residential laws regarding sewers and easements. As it turns out, we share a line with our neighbor and that intersection is at least 10 feet below ground. Additionally, the intersection of our residential line to the City's main is literally 25-30 underground. This is some Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle level stuff that Jason said he had never seen before in the City and he had been working in the area for over 10 years. Unfortunately, at the aforementioned intersection with the City's main, there is a large crack due to an unknown circumstance. This should be a repair for which the City foots the bill and Jason has really gone out of his way to contact the appropriate personnel as well as send that person the photos and video of the scope on our behalf. I honestly cannot say enough good things about our experience with Jason at Gillette Construction. He spent a whole afternoon meticulously documenting, scoping, photographing, marking the line layout and generally trying to allay my deep fear of this crack derailing our entire real estate transaction. We haven't heard back from the City yet, but if nothing else, we will definitely be hiring Gillette Construction to repair our sewer line for us. I highly recommend working with Gillette Construction for your sewage needs. I reached out to them for a third bid on what we were told was a needed, somewhat-urgent sewer replacement. I was impressed with their integrity and knowledge -- believe it or not, Jason actually told us that we didn't need to replace our line and with some preventative tips, could wait at least a year, maybe more. This was a huge $$ relief, especially due to other transitions we're going through. I highly recommend Gillette Construction. They replaced my sewer line and installed new cleanouts in May 2016 (shame on me for taking so long to write this review). Out of the 3 bids I received, they were the most competitive. Jerod is professional, knowledgeable and friendly. He provided me with a few different options and was honest about the pros and cons of each. His crew was on time, answered all my questions and worked hard to ensure the job was done that day. They even offered to dig up the rest of the juniper hedge they had to partially remove to get to the sewer line. I can't say enough nice things about them. I received a total of 4 estimates when my sewer started backing into my basement. Jerod was the 2nd bid I received and honestly I should have stopped and hired him on the SPOT!! Instead I fielded two more estimates which proved to be a waste of time!!! I was quoted $2600.00 to $10,000.00 to replace my sewer line, under my basement under concrete, which ultimately didn't need replacing. The interesting thing about it, all other bids didn't include what turned out to be the real problem, a break at the sewer section in the alley (not under my basement) that transitions off to the city line.
