My car was dinged at a parking garage. Didn't look too bad, but I got three estimates from local body shops of 3000 bucks! Gillette came in at 50% of their estimates and were able to schedule me immediately, as opposed to 3-6 week waits elsewhere. They did the job beautifully in four days so I got the car back early and saved 3 days on a rental, which they arranged for me with pick up and drop off. I brought in my Jaguar to them, along with 2 claims from my insurance company. After 2 weeks of supposed 6-day service, I was notified that I could pick up my car. However, upon inspecting my vehicle: (1) They had screwed in my front right light too tight, and there was a noticeable gap between it and the outer frame. ;( (2) They had completely neglected my second claim, which included scratches to my mirror, a noticeable dent on my door, and re-alignment of my stereo. I'm rating them below average, below a 3, because of the amount of time they held my vehicle (about 3 weeks for a supposed 6-day job) and for lack of effort and responsibility. ;( If your insurance will pay for it, go to the dealer. I dropped off a 2004 Lexus IS 300 for repairs after I was rear-ended. The damage was significant. In 10 days, Gillette was able to fully repair the damage, which amounted to nearly $4000. Thankfully the insurance company of the person that hit me picked up the tab. Their customer service is great. Very prompt and courteous on the phone and willing to take the time to listen to my concerns when I dropped off and picked up the car. There was a scratch on the new tail light cover and I pointed this out when picking the car up. They offered to order a new tail light cover and will be doing the replacement when the part arrives. Overall, they exceeded my expectations. The car looks great and the service was good. read more

One of the worst experiences I have ever had. My car had been in a minor accident and my insurance company suggested we bring it here. I dropped it off on a Thursday morning and was told it would be ready "by Tuesday, Wednesday at the latest". So, Wednesday at about 4:00 came, I called to ask what was going on. The guy couldn't tell me anything about my car so he said he'd call back. A few mins later they called and left a message saying that the part was back ordered and the car wouldn't be ready till the following week! They must have known since the week before about this and I couldn't believe that they never communicated this to me. On a personal note, my wife happened to go into labor on this same Wednesday (3 weeks early) and I let them know this was the car (SUV, it was winter) that we were planning to use to bring our baby home from the hospital. I'm a reasonable person, and the fact that my wife went into labor early had nothing to do with them, so I was willing to put it in the past and pick up the car when it was ready. When I picked up the car, it looked horrible. The new molding that they put in was either not installed correctly or was the wrong one. I wound up having to bring it to another place and when I showed the guy there his first response was "they let you take the car home like this?". AVOID this place. All they the did was make excuses when I came in to get the car. They have extremely poor communication/customer service and most importantly they do really poor work. read more

I was dreading having my new Toyota Highlander taken care of after hitting a bollard in a parking lot and crunching the door and other panels of the side of my car. I was not ready for the expense or hassle of the whole experience. After I stopped in and met Gary and Barbara I knew I was in the right place. It was done in no time ( less than two days!). Toyota told me it would take a week and thousands of dollars to fix. Gillette could not have been easier to deal with and their work was beautiful. It looks brand new again. I wouldn't even give this auto repair center a single star. I brought my car here in November of 2015 after a rear end collision. I was originally going to bring my car here to begin with before the collision from a small incident that had occurred with a deer taking off my PS mirror (in which my bumper after the repair was still broken, the window trim was not replaced, the fender liner was ripped up from not correct instillation, and the window was still scratched). Long story short, my two quarter panels from my accident in which I was rear ended were bondo'd. They should have been cut, and welded new ones. Due to the quarter panels being bondo'd, the paint on the right side in which had major damage done to it from the accident, is now chipping. Jerry, the owner I had notified him, and he told me he could repair it but I made it clear to him "why would they bondo my quarter panels?" He replied "at least the car still looks good". I also experienced lack of customer satisfaction when I had told the body shop I wanted my car aligned after the incident because my thrust angle was possible off. They refused to align my vehicle, and when I got the car back I took it upon myself to perform the alignment at Porter and Chester where I was currently attending. The thrust angle was off -27 degrees. I forgot to mention earlier, but the trunk they had put on my 08 Honda Civic Si is one that actually belongs to a 09 model. You can't hide the difference due to the chrome strip that is above the license place on the 09 trunk, as with the 08 trunk, does not have the chrome strip. My bumper does also not line up, along with my tail lights which allow moister to enter my trunk. On the pigtails for the tail light sockets, there is not a solid connection which will appear to be like a light is out, but in reality, the connectors actually have been stretched and have lack of drag. I am currently riding my car around with no trunk lining due constantly getting moister in my trunk in which I have to clean to prevent mold build up. I've considered contacting department of motor vehicle because there is constantly an issue with my car time after time. One last thing I would like to mention is the lack of attention to detail this shop will pay attention after their repair. Not only the obvious, but my wire that controlled the operation of my RS mirror after was repaired; was actually (after I took my RS passenger door panel off) not allowing full up and down operation. Who did the repair placed the wire from the mirror inbetween the window and regulator. I was much better off making the attempt to repair the car myself, with the 9,000 that I had received from the insurance company over having the money handed to this body shop. I was hesitant about this auto repair place (that my insurance required). I was prepared to take the estimate and go somewhere else. BUT, they were so professional and made me feel at ease that I decided to leave my car for repairs with them. One week later - including the Easter holiday - my car was done; they ordered parts and made repairs, cleaned and vacuumed the interior, and washed the exterior! What? Amazing! I would definitely return - but hopefully I won't have too! read more
