I only gave them 1 star because the people seem nice and the facility is new. Everything else was a disaster.
My husband and I decided on this establishment because corporate or big box daycares normally have more stringent rules, operations, facilities, and longer tenured educational staff. We toured in June 2021 and signed up for the daycare in August 2021 for a March 2022 start date. I ended up having to go back to work earlier, so my son started daycare at 8 weeks old during the week of Jan 23, 2022.
That being said, we only stayed a week at this facility.
Here's why:
1) the app that we paid extra for, to see our child, see his daily activities (diapering, feeding, napping, etc), what he did for the day, and photos wasn't working for us the entire first week. We got access -conveniently- the day before the bill was due the following week. - I know they'll say it's the app developers fault, which it is, but the fact that they told me they'd get back to me in 3 hours, i called back at 4, left a message on the answering machine, and this CONTINUED to be a problem for the entire week was inexcusable. I was always asking for updates as opposed to being provided them.
2) They just let him sleep all day, which means he's super active at night... One day they let him sleep 8 hours, and another time he had an accident bc they let him nap for too long.
3) During day 2 of the whole sleeping a lot and having an accident, they put him in some other kid's clothes...Even though he had 3 extra changes of clothes at the daycare.
4) they weren't feeding him enough, so he always came home to us cranky. He only had about 4-8 oz over the span of 10 hours. A baby should have 1-1.5oz per hour on average. Sooo he should have had 10-15 oz. On the high end, he was at a -7oz, on the low end a -2oz, but the way he was eating... Closer to a -7oz.
5) the main teacher was nice, but there was always a different person that gave me my child during drop off/pick up
6) During COVID times and when masks were required in daycares, I was in line to talk with the manager and saw my child being fed by a caretaker who was wearing her mask as a chin strap... I just stared and watched her....and timed it. A full 15min 41 seconds, she had her mask off, feeding my child, gabbing to another caretaker in the room before she realized who I was (his mom) and swiftly moved to the part of the room where I couldn't see her.
7) Nobody gave me a sheet saying how many times he went to the bathroom, how many oz he had, how much he slept, etc. I asked for the 3rd day and never got one. Then I asked and REMINDED them by calling and didn't get one, but the lady said she could get one for me real quick and proceeded to scribble down estimates on a piece of paper....
7) There was also a COVID exposure on the following Monday. They called us at 7pm and couldn't tell us who, degree of exposure, anything, just that the classroom had been shut down and that they apologized. -_-
Their customer service is horrendous bc they work on a system of sticky notes and somebody told someone else type of communication, so details always get lost or forgotten. I always left messages, never heard back and was always calling them back for updates (i waited days normally not hours to get a response, if at all)
Currently, I'm working on getting my $ back for the security deposit that someone voided even though I had the proper paperwork. Thank goodness I took a time stamped photo and emailed them multiple times to remind them, but oh wait... Got my $ back from the COVID exposure in the classroom but not my security deposit. read more
