Although, there were some advantages to Childtime, like an app that allowed you to get real time updates (like baby connect), we have found the staff and particularly the administration to be far superior at NT Kindercare. We enjoy the staff so much we actually use one of his teachers as a babysitter. Also, the administration does a great job at communicating with parent, whether it be staff changes, safety notices, and simple requests. My wife and I went all the local child care places in the area and NT Kindercare stand above all of them, in our humble opinion.

We were in Detroit for…read morea wedding and needed child care for six rambunctious kids ranging from 1 1/2 to 4 1/2 years old. We were able to book CAPEC months in advance, which gave us the peace of mind to book the trip knowing that we had reliable child care in place for the night of the wedding. The reservation process was smooth and easy. I spoke to Ebony by phone and she explained her services and confirmed that she could accommodate the size of our group. Once we decided to book CAPEC, we received a link to fill out all the necessary information online (i.e. allergy information and emergency contacts for each child). We then received a written agreement laying out all the terms and information we needed to plan ahead. Given that we had a large group of six kids, Ebony brought a second staff member, Yolaunda. The two of them came very well prepared with plenty of toys and activities for the kids to play with. As soon as they arrived at the hotel they had the kids engaged with bubbles, balloons, and musical instruments. They also did a great job of comforting/distracting the kids so that the parents could slip out without causing a meltdown. Throughout the evening Ebony texted us updates and pictures of the kids playing and enjoying themselves, which was very reassuring and put our minds at ease so we could enjoy the wedding festivities. When we got back to the hotel at midnight all of the kids were fast asleep. The next morning the kids told us how much fun they had with Ebony and Yolaunda, which is really the best feedback you can get. Thank you Ebony, Yolaunda and Children At Play Event Childcare! I know we have Discovery Corner to thank for all of this! 15 students in the kindergarten class was the perfect number. I would have sent her there for elementary if it was an option. The drop off and pick up times are flexible for working parents. I cannot say enough wonderful things about this school and all the teachers that work there. Wouldnt recommend this service at all, as Lena the owner isn't interested in actually providing a "perfect match" for you and your family and is more concerned with throwing people that MIGHT be qualified for you but are infact NOT. Neither is she concerned about what you're looking for, rather on now she can make money from you by any means necessary. Lena continues to tell us that she's bringing qualified nannies towards us while we're telling her this is not what we're looking for. Rather than try and figure out what we ACTUALLY need she tells us that to start a "new search" we'll have to pay an additional $2000. This is after we did not find a nanny suitable for us in the first time. Attached are emails of our conversation, proof of payment and a text message from our "match" In the green text is the first nanny we had for a single day, and she's clearly stating here that she recommends a sitter. Meanwhile, Lena keeps telling us she has nannies. THIS IS NOT WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR. As we asked for a partial refund because we never found our PERFECT MATCH, she refuses. The "Perfect Nanny Match" could not have chosen a better name to represent the company's focus! I know this firsthand because it is describing my personal experience and connection between my new employers and myself! I'm an experienced, educated nanny with a professional health care background that I felt would compliment my candidacy. Also, I was working for a family I met through care.com and I was miserable. Lena listened to my concerns and needs, and more importantly I appreciated that she screens the nannies and families to ensure she creates a "perfect match". Care.com does not screen the families and I made the grave mistake of assuming the family I agreed to work for was being honest on their profile, but that was not the case. HORRIBLE. Funny how the name is "perfect nanny match" when Lena actually doesn't care about giving your family the "perfect match". I have a 4 month old baby, I am not just going to take ANYONE. She then demanded another $2,000 from my husband and I because we weren't happy with our "perfect match" the first time. She was WAY more concerned about HOW we let our nanny go, instead of WHY we let our nanny go. She definitely is looking to make money off of you in any way she can. We kept on telling her our needs, yet she cannot actually give us what we want. Absolutely terrible communication. Does not answer when you call, DON'T WASTE TIME OR MONEY. At first, it was rough on both my daughter and I during drop off, but as time went on, she would smile and as Ms. Ebonee calls it, dog whistle when we arrived at school. Every day at pick up, I get details on how my baby's day went, and what her teachers were working on with her throughout the day. My daughter was slowly becoming more comfortable with her teachers and was able to open up more at school. This helped me be at ease. Sure, there are still times when I have mom guilt take over, and I pick my daughter up early from school to spend a little extra time with her. But, I trust her teachers and the care they have provided for my daughter has been outstanding. Gilden Wood's Commerce is safe, reliable, and the hours work well for me. Another thing that I love about this school is that there is an app and they provide, in real time, updates on meals, naps, diaper changing, and they even send pictures and videos of my little one doing different activities. You can also send messages to the teachers and they are able to respond. There are also cameras in the classrooms and in the infant napping area, so I can check in at any time. It has been more than a couple of months since I removed my son from this daycare center, so I have…read moretaken a significant amount of time to gather my thoughts and concerns to write this review. When seeking a center for my 2-year old son I made a point to read the reviews for each center I considered. For that reason, I wanted to make sure that I wrote a clear review of my family's experience at this daycare center. First, let me begin with strongly cautioning any black families from trusting your little ones in their care. I say this because the last straw that caused me to remove my son was him being blatantly discriminated against and profiled by the teacher and I feel like the center staff as well. The first red flags were the teachers changing almost daily. My son had attended the daycare center for three weeks before I met his lead teacher. Then she was out for months due to a medical leave. My son only attended the center for 6 months and this was his first daycare center experience. Within the first 3 months he was hurt on the playground 3 times. After about the first month or two, I begin to receive behavioral incident notices at least twice per week and he only attended the center 3 days per week. At times they would call me to tell me about his behavior but neglect to mention to me that he had gotten hurt physically. These 'ouchies' were not simply scratches or scrapes that kids get all the time. Twice it was a split fingernail and then a busted limp. It happened so often that I made a point to do my best to pick him up before his teachers left for the day. I begin to feel this way because when I would pick him up he would be with other teachers that seemed really young and inexperienced. That brings me to another major issue - they were so short staffed at times that they would message parents on the morning of saying that they were shorthanded and were seeking volunteers to keep their child at home for the day. Then that escalated to messages/notifications on Fridays stating that specific classrooms would be closed on specific days due to their lack of staff. I met with the Director - Liz and her assistant Tori to establish a behavioral plan for my son. During that meeting, I expressed my concern that it seemed as if they were holding my 2-year-old to a higher standard than even their staff. I was told that they would make sure that the forgetting to notify me that he had gotten hurt would stop. Liz also assured me that he would not transition to a new class without notifying me. Within two weeks that is exactly what happened, also within a week of that meeting - Liz announced that she was leaving the center. Shortly after that we received a notice that both of his original teachers would no longer be working there. The notice came as a huge surprise. One day, I arrived to drop him off and was told that he would be visiting a different class. Next day they just moved him to the next class. In the meantime, when I would drop him off the teacher of the new class would call them to say that she was over ratio. This was of course concerning to me, so I waited until they adjusted the number of students before I left. On the last day, I brought him in and stayed for about 15 minutes to observe him in class and also speak with the teacher. She told me that he was a good boy and that most of the time his behavior was related to him defending his friends. When I got there I was given two incident reports - one due to his behavior and the other because he had fallen and gotten hurt the day before. Of course, this was frustrating. Then I read the behavioral incident. The teacher had written very disturbing things about my 2-year-old son. This was very hurtful and extremely contradictory to what we discussed in person. I told the regional director what happened. She apologized and told me that they would address the report with the teacher and agreed that the teacher should not have written the report in that manner. She also told me that they were in the process of onboarding a more experienced& appropriate teacher. I removed my son that following week. I just could not trust that he was not being mistreated. Parents, don't be fooled by the very nice facility. This center is not a stable, organized center that will be safe for your little ones.

Jennifer was helpful with everything. I disagree with the other reviewers in the following ways (and I will explain why I LOVE KA at the same time): 1. Every kid is different - my daughter knew all of her letters and numbers way before my son (and she is younger). You can't rely on them growing at the same speed. 2. The 3 year old room has Miss Joan who has worked for KA for YEARS. She goes through letters and numbers in the mornings. My son came to KA at 4 knowing nothing and she whipped him into shape in a few months. She can be a tough cookie, but if you need parenting advice and can't find Jennifer (the director)...Joan is your girl. 3. Tuition: you have to pay holidays and vacation days regardless of where you go. As long as we have gone to KA, they have not had a snow day. Ever. ALLLLLL the other schools will be closed, but KA is open for business. 4. Homework: feel like you have NO CLUE what your kid is doing all day at preschool? I've been there. KA sends home optional homework packets that my son LOVES doing. It helps me realize what he is learning during the day and he likes to show off (to me and probably also his sister) all of his number knowledge. 5. Turnover: There have been a few people moving around, but nothing like what I have seen at other centers. The center director has been there for over a decade. She knows her stuff, is no-nonsense but kind. She has a love for her job and her students. And she is a fountain of knowledge if you need help with ANYTHING. I don't know anything about the baby/toddler side because my son is older, but overall we are very happy.

Stay away from this place…read more.. reasons why: 1. my 3 year old is not learning any letters or numbers, they are not teaching it. 2. they make you pay tuittion upfront. 3. You have to pay all holidays and if there is a snow day or if they loose power, you have to pay for all those days. 4. you also have to pay 1/2 tuittion for vacation days. 5. last snow day they did not update their voicemail message and I drove 2 kids in a snow storm 15 miles to find a note in the door that center is closed. 6. Overall not happy at all.

The ratio of kids to teachers is always followed strictly. They have several indoor play areas for the kids especially during long winters. They are on Brighwheel as well as WatchMeGrow which helps with taking a peak at what they are doing and getting updates on their day in school. Their timings were perfect for our long days at work (630-630), they provide breakfast, lunch, snacks as well as diapers/bibs/utensils for the younger ones. Really great group of staff/teachers, they have been wonderful for our kids.

I was shocked to find how clean and safe this place seemed. Doors are kept locked unless you have a pin code to get in (you choose the PIN number when you officially register) and even the doors stay locked from the inside unless you press a button to exit. There are plenty of rooms which are separated by different age groups, and the kids are closely monitored by their staff. My son is 6 months old and in the infant room. Since some babies are crawling, they have you put on booties so you don't get the floors dirty m from your shoes. They have a 3 step washing process for all toys that are played with. The crib mattresses themselves are cleaned every night and sheets are washed daily. The cribs have a plexiglass surrounding them so babies don't get their legs or arms caught in the slats. The staff has been there several years, so the low turnover rate is fantastic to me. The center director and assistant director were wonderful about answering all my questions. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a great day are. Their prices aren't too shabby either.

She was very knowledgeable and communicated clearly and sensitively about why she pointed us in the direction she did. I am not sure how we would have navigated our situation without her expertise. I would highly recommend this company.

BUT when I called Kindercare Monica VanSumer completely blew away all my fears. She made me feel very understood and comfortable! Monica took the time to ask me what was the most important thing that I want for my daughter at daycare and I told her to feel loved and nurtured.Monica definitely went above and beyond for me. After my first visit at Kindercare I knew that this is where I wanted to take my daughter. Monica made me feel so extremely welcomed and comfortable. She is a great asset to the Kindercare company! I also want to take the time to give compliments to the girls working in the infant room. I feel that too often people don't get enough praise for the good work that they do. Ms. April- She is a multitasking champ! She was the very first teacher I met and she is extremely professional, and you can definitely tell that she has worked with children before and does an AMAZING job!!! She is constantly doing activities with the babies and knows all their different personalities. I popped in one day to pick up my daughter early and she had the babies outside and OMG it melted my heart seeing Ms. April trying to make Ella smile!!! Ms. Sarah- She is ALWAYS smiling at the babies! I can tell that she truly cares about each one and would do just about anything to get them to smile!!! If you want your baby to feel loved Ms. Sarah definitely does a terrific job!!!! Ms. Hannah- She is very easy to talk to! Every time I stop in to see my daughter Ms. Hannah is playing Disney music which is super adorable and the babies love it! She is constantly with the babies and making sure that they are well taken care of. All 3 girls you can tell LOVE babies, LOVE what they do, and the babies LOVEEE them! It's always such a great feeling coming in and seeing happy teachers and happy babies! I don't know how these 3 ladies keep with up so many babies and make it look easy! They all definitely give every individual baby the attention they need! Hannah, Sarah, and April are a blessing! GREAT JOB INFANT TEACHERS!
