All of the teachers are wonderful, caring, and energetic. The ratio of kids to teachers is always followed strictly. They have several indoor play areas for the kids especially during long winters. They are on Brighwheel as well as WatchMeGrow which helps with taking a peak at what they are doing and getting updates on their day in school. Their timings were perfect for our long days at work (630-630), they provide breakfast, lunch, snacks as well as diapers/bibs/utensils for the younger ones. Really great group of staff/teachers, they have been wonderful for our kids.

I was shocked to find how clean and safe this place seemed. Doors are kept locked unless you have a pin code to get in (you choose the PIN number when you officially register) and even the doors stay locked from the inside unless you press a button to exit. There are plenty of rooms which are separated by different age groups, and the kids are closely monitored by their staff. My son is 6 months old and in the infant room. Since some babies are crawling, they have you put on booties so you don't get the floors dirty m from your shoes. They have a 3 step washing process for all toys that are played with. The crib mattresses themselves are cleaned every night and sheets are washed daily. The cribs have a plexiglass surrounding them so babies don't get their legs or arms caught in the slats. The staff has been there several years, so the low turnover rate is fantastic to me. The center director and assistant director were wonderful about answering all my questions. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a great day are. Their prices aren't too shabby either.

My son has learned so much since attending, his teacher Qamar ABBASI is so professional, passionate, patient and a great communicator. All the staff are so amazing. Hoping this review will help someone in the same position feel confident in their choice to have their child (children) attend Montessori Academy of Farmington Hills. Our oldest has been attending Montessori Academy of Farmington Hills for three years and counting. Ms. Suman and the entire staff work tirelessly each and every day to make sure the students and their families have a good experience. They are helpful, supportive, caring and sensitive to the needs of each child. As a parent, I've watched my child grow (emotionally and physically) in his abilities and been able to witness his confidence soar. The transition (as any significant routine change can be) was tough at first (probably more on me than him :) ) as it was the first daycare/school he attended outside our home and Ms. Suman and his teachers worked closely with him (and helped me as a parent, which I'll always be grateful for) to build trust, understanding and make sure he felt secure. Now, he looks forward to drop off each morning and can't wait to see his teachers and play and learn with all of his friends, classmates and peers. The Montessori Academy of Farmington Hills has a wonderful playground for outdoor time (one of the first things you'll notice as you drive up and enter the parking lot), Ms. Suman and her staff keep it well maintained, along with the interior/exterior of the building and are always updating with the latest equipment and enhancements. They offer fieldtrips for students and lots of fun activities for holidays and special occasions, including an end of the school year program for each class. One note that's worth mentioning is that they follow the Montessori method of learning with the freedom to make choices and progress at the child's own comfort level. It's a true school environment starting at 3 years, not a daycare or childcare center (Ms. Suman and the teachers are happy to give updates and send pictures, you'll just need to ask if there's something specific you'd like to see or know more about during the day to day routine). You'll be more than pleasantly surprised with how much your child (children) will learn. If you have a child under three, they will still learn at an exceptional rate (Montessori Academy take babies 3 months and up) as well, just in a separate building with separate infant/baby/young toddler staff. My youngest is in the infant/baby room and we feel at ease knowing he is surrounded by such a wonderful, patient support system and receiving nurturing, dependable care. The teachers and staff truly are wonderful, many have been with the school for years and years. Their experience shines through (and helped accelerate our potty training journey, among many, many other milestones) and so many of them feel like an extension of our family. The tuition costs are more than fair for everything they offer, I can't imagine you can find anywhere else with such an expansive offering. Choose Montessori Academy of Farmington Hills and you'll choose really, really well!

My daughters looked forward to going to school each day and were super prepared for kindergarten. This makes it so much easier on the parents! They are always working on something fun and active with the children and you can feel how much they care about their students from the second you drop them off, throughout the day receiving fun photos, to their little smiling, proud faces when you pick them up. Miss Lori, the director couldn't be a better person for this role and has made our experience so much more enjoyable than we could have imagined. They also picked up on our daughter being a bit advanced and bored in her classroom and moved her up to make sure she was receiving what she needed. Our daughter has very much thrived from this experience. We couldn't thank Franklin more!

That said, students come from many local…read morecities as it seems to draw many wonderful families looking for a safe and nurturing environment. They accept kids starting at 18 months (don't have to be potty trained) and you can create your own schedule from Monday - Friday. We are sending both of our children there this year. We have noticed HUGE strides in our children's learning and social skills. They do crafts (even the Tots class with kids from 18 - 2.5 years), read books, sing songs and teach lessons of sharing and tolerance. Our son started last year in the 3's program and it was so heart warming to watch him grow and play with his friends. His language improved and we got so many crafts to keep. Our daughter is now in the Tots program and only 2 months in, her vocabulary went from 20 or so words to now stringing together phrases and she pretty much repeats any word she hears. She was also really shy and now is very outgoing and loves playing with other kids. The teachers and school director are like family to us. They are really comforting and understanding and it is so evident that they love what they do! Other things that I believe set St. James apart: they disinfect all classrooms every (yes, every!) day, they have a very strict locked door policy and ID anyone that is not the usual pick up person (I've seen it for myself when a dad was picking up his son and a teacher didn't know him). They do work sheets and it is very focused on education / learning. All of the teachers there are required to do so many hours of training each year too. Again, you can do as many or as little days a week you want and mornings or extend the day to 2:00, they do lots of crafts, they have a balanced amount of activities and field trips and the other parents and kids are just wonderful. I've met so many great moms and feel so happy every time I am there. We looked at other schools and have friends at other schools and truly, St. James far exceeds anything we could have asked for. Check out the school! You can call Shar Wickens, the director, directly and set up a personal visit when convenient for you.
