Prices seemed typical for a butcher shop. The man who helped me was very friendly and willing to answer all my questions. They had a lot of seasoning options they were selling retail and I really liked the fact that they even had bottles labeled for sampling. Nice touch because there was a lot of them and it would have been hard to choose otherwise. I know they say the bone adds the most flavor to a meat, but I was feeling kinda lazy, as I didn't want to cut bone off my steak that night, so I got 2 of the boneless ribeyes. Took them home, let them settle to room temp, and cooked them on a cast iron skillet with butter, rosemary, garlic, salt, and pepper. I continuously ladled the butter onto the steaks while cooking... a technique I learned from Gordon Ramsey himself. Ok, ok, So I watched him do it on Hell's Kitchen, but whatever, same thing!! Anyway, I served them with bacon wrapped jalapeño and smokie peppers. Can I just say... this was the BEST steak I ever cooked!!! I cooked one to medium and the other to medium rare. The meat was so tender and flavorful! My husband was also impressed. You guys... I even ate most of the fat that was seasoned! That's how good it was. I feel like I'm never going to be able to buy regular meat, at the grocery store, ever again because it just can't live up to this place! Oh vey! What have I done??! Oh my gosh I can't say enough. We ordered a brisket for a family event a few months ago, my husband went in and talked to the owners (husband and wife). I was planning on making the infamous Gordon Ramsey sticky ribs for a dinner party, and I stopped in for apparently the best butchery on the east side. What I got was EXCELLENT service. Big shout out goes to Aaron who helped me out with what I needed to make my entree the best it could be. He went out of his way to listen to the You Tube video of Gordon Ramsey doing his thing, and provided his best recommendation on the different kinds of pork they had. Great butcher shop but they don't enforce their own mask policy. Went there this morning and one man was just standing around "waiting for a friend" inside the shop without a mask on. First time to Gilbert Butchery today. Just moved to the area and saw some folks on Facebook saying it was great. I was in need of some meat for cinco de mayo and just restocking. Dang did I go to the right spot! Beautiful set up, the had all meats, some seafood, and items from the local farmers market. What?! Yes! Locals supporting locals. Love it. Friendly staff, very helpful and knowledgeable. Ever since we found GB, we have stopped buying meat anywhere else. My experience today sealed the deal on why we come here! With the new Mask policy in Gilbert, GB has done their part to post signage and encourage masks and distancing. But they also respect that there are people out there who still need to get food and fall within the exemption and can't wear a mask (yes legit reasons exist!!!). They do not shame you and they still give great service following all proper protocols. I even had another customer harass me about not wearing a mask and the young woman at the counter was completely apologetic even though a rogue person isn't her fault at all! The "lady" rang it up, showed me the weight and price on the scale, got my OK and packaged it up. She rang the next pound for $6.99/lb. Then she unwrapped the first package and reweighed the first package for $6.99/lb without saying a word to me about it. When she was confronted about it she said she "had to."
