All their beef is prime grade, and is of the highest quality. Went in the first day at 4:30 to get their house made beef jerky but unfortunately it was sold out. The store was super clean and the employees very helpful and friendly. The one employee there told us it sells out quickly so we probably will have to come in earlier next time. So the next day we got there at 11 and there was jerky! I got two bags for $16. Got home tried it and some of the best beef jerky ever, definitely recommend if you love some great beef jerky. read more

Went to get a lovely chuck roast for christmas dinner, and also some nice ground beef and ground lamb to make my lemon meat croquettes. Would've got some nice soup bones too but will get them next time! The store has such beautiful meats it's a wonder I didn't buy the whole store ... Chucks has the highest-quality meat that I've found since moving here. And on top of that the customer service is always superb with plenty of employees ready to help. I've only tried the chicken, but the beef and other meats look top knotch. The chicken doesn't contain preservatives so you usually want to cook it soon after buying or freeze. I've done both and each time the chicken is fresh and the texture is perfect. Take my word for it because I'm picky when it comes to texture. I wish you could find meat like this more places. It's worth the extra trip after buying your staple ingredients at the grocery store. read more

I called in to reserve a 10 lbs ham. Went to pick it up and was given a 10 lbs ham but then they switched it in front of me saying that was for someone else. I asked for my 10 lbs ham and was told they only have 8 lbs left. I have bought no less than 6 briskets, steaks, roasts and many of their seasonings over the last few years but no more after this. Sadly they lost my business with their lack of caring and ability to honor the reserved ham. My business will go elsewhere. read more

My moms birthday was coming up and all that love her were coming to my house to celebrate her. We wanted to spoil her with a steak dinner so we went to Chucks and bought her favorite steak...Filet mignonette. MOUTH WATERING! Was the best steak any of had, even from some of the finest restaurants. The service was amazing, helpful and the staff never stopped smiling. I am going back from all my meat and poultry. We've been in East Mesa for two years now and have driven past this place numerous times and finally decided to give it a shot since we live in the area. It's a small store but well utilized it has a little bit of everything in it that's perfect for your next BBQ from a huge selection of sauces to your spuds on steroids. I honestly likes this place the beef was nice and fresh and they also have a selection of seafood if beef isn't your thing. UPDATE: A few weeks ago, I got a few oxtail bones and ribs to make soup with and I freaked out when I saw blue spots on the cut side. I thought it was mold and I threw it away. WHAT A WASTE! Turns out, it was a blue/green edible ink from the stamp of approval. I'm very sorry for leaving a misleading review. As a reviewer with integrity, this didn't sit right with me. I went in to the establishment today and made up with the owner who was understanding and kind about the situation. I will continue to go back there to get quality meat whenever I need to! read more

6606 E McKellips Rd Ste 104  Mesa, AZ 85215 While I normally only review restaurants, I could not in good conscience not review this establishment. I was making Bistecca alla Fiorentina, which requires a huge porterhouse to make it correctly. Restaurants usually use a rather small porterhouse in the area of a pound and a half. I was looking for something a bit more of the same size used in Florence, Italy. While we don't have their breed of cattle here, we do have some nice angus beef. Calling all around the Phoenix area for the cut I wanted, I only found 2 places that  had what I wanted and that could have it for me while I waited. Settling on Chuck's was an excellent choice. My "small" porterhouse was about 4.5 pounds and about 3.5 inches thick. Best of all, it was prime beef, nicely marbled and cleaned of bone dust and excess fat particles. I also tried some other items from the shop, notably smoked pork chops and chile sausages, but I digress. As a person who has quite literally eaten my way around the world, I've certainly developed a palate for quality beef, and this cut was right up there with the best. Seasoned with nothing more than Maldon Sea Salt and fresh ground pepper, the meat was lovingly caressed with beautiful extra virgin olive oil and allowed to rest for 12 hours. At the appointed time, this mammoth piece of beef was removed from the fridge and allowed to come to room temperature. The beef was cooked on an open fire at high heat for 10 minutes on the first side, 8 minutes on the flip side, and 5 minutes on the bone side. After a rest of 5 minutes, the beef was sliced. Magnificent, tender slices of fillet and strip steak adorned the platter showing off their beautiful rare to crusty coloration.  Served with roasted fingerling potatoes, roasted shallots, and some lovely bearnaise sauce this was a meal fit for a king. The beef barely needed to be chewed, as it fairly melted in my mouth. Washed down with a nice Lambrusco, it was excellent. While this is a bit on the costly side, it was well worth it. Not only did it make a wonderful dinner, but it will again, and probably also make some nice lunches. My review is 5 stars for quality, service, and cleanliness of the premises. It is so nice to have a local butcher. Don't go here expecting extremely cheap grocery store pricing because that is not what a butcher is for. It is for quality meat. Trust me, it is worth every penny. We bought a turkey for thanksgiving from Chucks this year and were more than happy with it! Make sure to reserve early for that! If they don't have something you see, ask the staff and they are likely able to order it in for you! Great option for cooking eclectic meals. In their frozen section, they have scrap meat containers for your furry friends. My dogs LOVE when I bring home Chucks! They beef jerky is HANDS DOWN the best beef jerky I've ever had. I came here specifically looking for thick pork RIB chops. I assumed they would give them to me. Nope. Packaged up center cut pork chops 2 thin and 2 thick ($7.00 lb!) and I didn't notice until just now. I purchased these on Saturday and refrigerated them immediately. Today is Monday, and when I unwrapped the package it smelled sour and off. Upon inspection the meat was slimy. I double checked my fridge temp and it was reading at 36 f. I checked because 2 day old meat shouldn't be rotten. The young girl behind the counter who sold me the wrong meat shouldn't be working in a "butcher" shop and the old sour, slimy meat they sold me went into the garbage. I guess I need to try another place for meat as this was an expensive two strike first visit. read more

I saw this place open up by a few months ago. It was in my mind ,I need to stop there and check it out. Cool! A Butcher shop in our neighborhood. A Butcher shop is something I think about from my childhood. Something that you just don't see in too many places anymore. Everyone that works here is so nice. As well as knowledgeable about what they carry. The Shop is very clean. It has an incredible amount of choices all throughout the store. Even all kinds of dog food. As well as Seaford. I stumbled across Chuck's (very) Fine Meats while stopping for a haircut. The staff is very friendly and helpful, and the quality and variety of meats is better than any butcher shop I have been to. We have visited many times over the years and tried quite a few different things and are always very happy. Our favorites will always be the rib-eye and the twice-baked potatoes. We did our own prime rib for family events, the meat was the best. I am also a hamburger lover, there are different patties in the store, all are great. So are the brats........
