As many times as I have passed by Gilbert Butchery, my curiosity was increasingly piqued. The first time I visited, they provided the best customer service experience. The first thing I saw was the quality of the meats on display. They were as good or better than any butcher shop I remember in Chicago. We have gotten burgers, chicken, brats, and Italian Sausage that are excellent in texture and taste. They also have some of the most excellent rubs and spices (The names for many of them are hilarious) and are superior in flavor. We have become permanent customers. read more

$200 worth of oxidized incorrectly packed wagyu ribeyes. Place was highly recommended but if I'm spending this much they should know how to package it. They offered to replace them but the lady on the phone gave me attitude and said they are fine nothings wrong so I opt to post here. Save your time and go somewhere else unfortunately. I've had better wagyu shipped to me cross country. read more

Could paying top dollar for steaks at a butchery really make a difference? It was my birthday and it's the one day out of the year I refuse to go out. This is my day to make my meal just the way I want it. No skimping on quality ingredients and that meant finding quality steaks. I was tempted to save $$ and do a Costco run like last year, but decided to splurge. I cannot begin to describe to you how amazing these cuts were. New York strips for the guys and fillet minion for the girls. Grilled up to perfection and everyone kept raving about the tenderness and juiciness (ok, it's also the grill chef, but you have to start with the meat). These were easily $100 dollar steaks at a steakhouse, costing me a quarter of that per person. Now the wife wants birthday steaks. And her dad. And... read more

So very impressed with this locally owned business. I really expected to walk in to bloody aproned workers, instead clean and such attentive help. The selection of meat was impressive. I needed a boneless pork shoulder, they had no problem accommodating my request. Next time I plan to make a meal with beef or pork, I will definitely return. read more

Best butcher in the Valley hands down! What an awesome little shop! Great selection on all types of meats and everything is reasonably priced as well. They have a ton of dog products as well which is always a good thing. My go to here is their chicken wings. They are priced so well for what you get. Big chicken wings already separated into two pieces. No inedible wing tip so you don't have to worry about buying pieces that are essentially dead weight. Very fresh, not frozen. I literally drive 60 minutes round trip to get my chicken wings here, they are that good! read more
