I saw it as an investment, something that would last. But only a few months later, she started telling me she couldn't see well again. This was a huge issue because she loves to read it's one of her main joys and ways to stay engaged. I wasn't sure what to do next. I hesitated to take her to another doctor, wondering how her vision could change so quickly. But I started calling around, only to find that most eye exams were $200-$400, which was out of reach financially. Then I found Optical Express at Bascom Palmer (University of Miami Eye Institute) offering exams for just $100. I was honestly apprehensive about the quality of care at that price, and some of the Yelp reviews made me even more unsure but I went ahead and got us on the cancellation list. Luckily, they called with an earlier appointment. And I'm so glad I gave them a chance. The doctor who saw my mom was absolutely incredible. From the moment we walked in, he was warm, patient, and kind. He immediately noticed that my mom had a disability, and he took extra care to explain everything clearly to her never rushing, never frustrated, just deeply compassionate. He treated her like family. As her caretaker, I'm usually the one explaining things to her after appointments, but he took that burden off my shoulders. It meant a lot. Even more importantly, he discovered that the original prescription she'd received last year was incorrect. He spent 30-40 minutes carefully examining her vision and correcting the mistake. I saw a review saying a doctor only spent 5 minutes with them but that couldn't have been further from our experience. He was thorough and thoughtful. After the exam, we went over to the glasses side of the clinic, and I was bracing myself for another high bill. But Natasha who helped us was so kind and understanding. She listened to our situation and worked with us to find a price we could afford. She even helped me brainstorm ways to get my mom back to the clinic (since she doesn't drive), going above and beyond in every way. We're coming back next week to pick up the new lenses, but I already feel confident recommending this place to anyone especially if you're looking for a compassionate, competent doctor and staff who truly care.

I am writing to file a formal complaint regarding my recent visit to your office and to request a…read morerefund for services that were not disclosed to me in advance. Three weeks ago, I had a full eye examination with Dr. Wise, an ophthalmologist (MD) in Florida. Since I have worn glasses since high school, all I needed at this visit was a new prescription after losing my glasses. Last year, I also had a full exam at LensCrafters in Aventura, where the front desk clearly explained all costs and insurance coverage before my appointment. That visit was handled transparently and professionally. At MyEyeDr, however, the front desk did not explain what my insurance would or would not cover. During my appointment, a technician took retinal images without informing me that this would result in a $44 charge. I should have been told in advance and given the choice to decline. In addition, I was charged $140 for a contact lens fitting that was never discussed with me beforehand. The optometrist attempted multifocal lenses, which did not work for me. I was the one who had to suggest the lens setup I normally use (one lens for distance), and only then did he agree it would work. This left me feeling the fitting was unnecessary and not worth the fee. At checkout, I was presented with a bill of $640 that included these undisclosed charges. I was not prepared for such an amount and chose not to proceed with the purchase. The interaction with the sales associate afterward was uncomfortable and unprofessional. Because I was not informed of these additional services or fees beforehand, I am requesting a refund of the $44 retinal image fee and the $140 contact lens fitting fee. I believe this is a fair resolution given the lack of transparency and communication at my appointment. Thank you for your prompt attention to this matter. I look forward to your response and resolution.

Like most eyeglass wearers, I've had more than my fair share of eye exams. But Dr. Radzwill is…read moredefinitely the best I have seen so far. He uses cutting edge technology to see what possible underlying diseases and abnormalities you may have with your eyes. I have never had an eye exam with that amount of information and detail. I never expected him to pull out an iPad with a series of eye maps revealing wavelength detection, full visual field mapping, and more. It even had graphs showing my percentile eye performance in different categories! Definitely very top tier material. I'd recommend him for anyone with serious visual concerns and multiple comorbidies (diabetes, hypertension) this would definitely be one of the places I would turn to first. Even though I have some pretty healthy eyes, and the use of up-to-date tech is great, what I really liked was the results. Apparently I had a slight prism defect, which was where one eye was slightly higher than the other. He asked, do you get car sick or seasick? And I said yes! How did you know? I suffer on long boat rides quite often. Apparently this can be one of those causes. I've been seasick all my life, so this is not a new development but he's the first one to find it. Every inch (or micrometer on this case) counts, so for me all the tech and talent of Dr. Radzwill led to very tangible results. I'd come here again for an eye exam and highly recommend Dr. Radzwill. He is a top tier optometrist with an excellent bedside manner. He made me feel comfortable from start to finish, and I felt very comfortable under his care If you're a big fan of tech and science like I am, it's worth the trek just to see your eyes charted out using every statistic and visual graph possible. Thanks again Doc!
