Amazing service, Amazing care, worth ever Penny and worth…read morethe drive. Guys let me tell you - I went to 5 different places before I was lucky enough to pop in , one was a total rip off, they wanted over $972 for frames and lenses (fyi the frames were less than 200 bucks), their service was horrible, one they were nice but had a poor selection of frames, another was too shady for me, it was like the candy guy in a windowless van, I got out of there right away, the other felt like being in a DMV - and finally Dr. Daverman - so nice, so professional, I forgot all my frustrations at the door, I felt like I was their one and only customer, they cared - they didn't try and rip you off, if you need to get your eye examined and get new frames and lenses, this is seriously the place to go. Don't take my word for it, go around and try your luck and then end up here and you can thank me later.

Prior to him and his office, my previous eye doctor seemed to rush my exam and contact fitting but with Dr. Balaguer, he really took his time to make sure my prescription was perfect and we went through several contact lens options until we found the right lenses that worked for me and gave me 20/20 vision and a were also COMFORTABLE!!! Highly recommend him and his staff.

Everyone was very welcoming and reassuring and walked me through each step, including helping me select a nice pair of frames. Dr. Kay helps you feel at ease and is happy to answer any and all questions one might have at any point of the exams. He explains what each assessment does and how it helps him determine the best course of action to improve one's vision. He seems to really like to get to know his patients and is always handy with a quip to keep it light and help patients feel comfortable. I would have no hesitation whatsoever recommending his office to anyone looking for a knowledgeable, friendly, and professional optometrist!

I am writing to file a formal complaint regarding my recent visit to your office and to request a…read morerefund for services that were not disclosed to me in advance. Three weeks ago, I had a full eye examination with Dr. Wise, an ophthalmologist (MD) in Florida. Since I have worn glasses since high school, all I needed at this visit was a new prescription after losing my glasses. Last year, I also had a full exam at LensCrafters in Aventura, where the front desk clearly explained all costs and insurance coverage before my appointment. That visit was handled transparently and professionally. At MyEyeDr, however, the front desk did not explain what my insurance would or would not cover. During my appointment, a technician took retinal images without informing me that this would result in a $44 charge. I should have been told in advance and given the choice to decline. In addition, I was charged $140 for a contact lens fitting that was never discussed with me beforehand. The optometrist attempted multifocal lenses, which did not work for me. I was the one who had to suggest the lens setup I normally use (one lens for distance), and only then did he agree it would work. This left me feeling the fitting was unnecessary and not worth the fee. At checkout, I was presented with a bill of $640 that included these undisclosed charges. I was not prepared for such an amount and chose not to proceed with the purchase. The interaction with the sales associate afterward was uncomfortable and unprofessional. Because I was not informed of these additional services or fees beforehand, I am requesting a refund of the $44 retinal image fee and the $140 contact lens fitting fee. I believe this is a fair resolution given the lack of transparency and communication at my appointment. Thank you for your prompt attention to this matter. I look forward to your response and resolution.

This review has two parts…read more One: I think Dr. Bearden is a great optometrist. The exam I had was for both contacts and glasses and it was one of the most thorough exams I have had. She is very easy to talk to, and my last eye doctor barely said much, so I appreciated how comfortable she made me feel. The drawback was how dilated my pupils stayed - I honestly found it difficult to do much the rest of the day so definitely plan accordingly. (Honestly, Uber or have someone drive you back home because it won't be safe to drive on your own). For years I have avoided glasses because my eyesight is so terrible that I end up with near coke bottle glasses, but Dr. Bearden recommended the thinner high index lenses, which I went with. I also was getting contacts, and even though I had the twice a week kind, in all truth sometimes I would go longer without changing them out. Part two: So, Dr. Bearden ended up switching me to daily contacts. I've been using the for a few months but haven't noticed a significant difference in how my eyes feel. As for glasses, the selection of frames seemed OK but in hindsight are limited to what I was looking for. But I still went with a pair. When I did pick up my glasses I was a bit bummed that the lenses were still thicker than I hoped and I wasn't 100% happy. The cost for the exam, eyeglasses and several months of contacts was no joke. Thankfully I had vision insurance but it was still well over $700 total. One of the other things that rubbed me the wrong way was that during my initial visit a customer came in asking for their RX and she gave them a speech and disclaimer about buying elsewhere/online. But here's the thing, according to the FTC there are laws in which you are supposed to get your RX for both your eyeglasses and contacts after your exam or fitting with no questions asked. Ironically, during my visit I did not get my prescriptions and later had to go back to get them. As for my glasses, I ended up buying another pair for a fraction of the price from Zenni Optical (an online retailer) and was super happy with them because they had the thinest lenses available plus tons of styles. Overall, I'd say this is great place for an exam but go elsewhere for ordering your contacts and glasses.
