Let me just start with: PLEASE DON'T EVER GO TO THIS RESTAURANT. I tend to veer on the side of dramatic, but I am honestly serious about this. This may actually just be the worst restaurant experience I've ever had.
For starters, the only reason we ended up at this restaurant is because it being the winter season, we had trouble finding any restaurants open. After discovering multiple restaurants to be closed, we just went for the first one that we found. That was our first mistake.
From the very beginning, I had a bad impression of the restaurant. The place was completely empty and the table we sat at was not clean at all. There were crumbs all over the table, cleaning residue on the glasses and plates, and some of the silverware was visibly dirty. Even so, somehow we were able to overlook these facts because the server seemed friendly enough, the prices seemed OK, and we were so hungry.
The experience just kept getting worse from there. An older gentlemen brought us bread to the table, and though it was bearable, it certainly wasn't great. We found a plastic wrapper in the bread basket, so I can say with a high certainty, this was probably bought bread. Another bad sign.
At one point, a younger Italian couple came into the empty restaurant and this made me feel better for a second if there were local Italians going to this restaurant too but let me tell you, I was so wrong for feeling that way. I watched as the woman ate her food and ended up spitting it out.
As for our meal, I ended up getting a homemade seafood pasta, while my friends got pizza and I am not exaggerating when I say this is the worst quality meal we've received in our entire time in Italy. Never once in my life have I grimaced the second a meal came out before, but it happened for this. The plate LOOKED like it was going to be a bad experience and the visual this time told the whole story. The pasta was stiff, not fully cooked, and the seafood looked days old. I could barely stomach a few bites before I decided to just not eat anymore. As for the pizzas, my friends commented that they've never smelled bad pizza before in their lives but that this was also the one. The dough didn't look fully cooked, there was clumps of flour, and pockets of oil. SO MANY BAD SIGNS.
Honestly, the farther in this review, the more I get mad about it that I don't even want to think about it any longer. I am so mad that I even had to pay for this meal. This was by and far the worst restaurnat experience I've ever had in my life and I certainly would not even wish this on my worst enemies. If there's anything you take from this review, it's to do a little research before you try new restaurants and acknowledge signs when they come your way. I felt a level of good feeling with how home-y and family-oriented the restaurant seemed, but I know now I was wrong to trust at all in this feeling. DO NOT GO TO THIS RESTAURANT. read more
