Sorry it took me so long to write this review. I moved up from San Diego when I was 8 months pregnant and had called so many Obgyn but none would take me. Mainly bc I was switching insurance and also was due on Thanksgiving. One even said I would be a hassle to deal with! The staff at Dr. Giao told me that we take new patients, especially one who had just moved and is in need of a Dr. She reassured me with everything will be ok and that she specialized in insurances so just come in and we will worry about it all later! Wow! I won't lie. I cried happy tears that day because everyone so far has been so rude and unwelcoming and I feared that our move was a big mistake. Upon arriving at the office, the girls were VERY professional! They were discreet in discussing my insurance problems, plans, options, etc and my personal info. I've been to others who would blurt out your address from across the room. And Dr. Giao was knowledgable and mellow. (Just like my old doctor from San Diego!) Well, to get to the point, the service and assistance that you'll get here will make you feel like they truly care for each and every patient. And the girls in front are always so friendly, polite, and professional. To me, that is very important! read more

Who is this woman that keeps harassing Dr. Vu patients and acting very needy for monies as if she is very poor ? She is very insecure as well and lies alot. She is very unprofessional but Dr. G VU seems very professional, knowledgeable, and as if he loves his work. I wonder if he know what this woman is calling & doing to his patients ? We chose this office for Obgyn care for preparations for delivery. read more

I'm not really one to leave reviews and I am a very opinionated person, but I feel it's necessary. When I found out I was pregnant I didn't think I'd get good care because I had insurance through the state, I had to call around a few dr.'s because nobody would accept my insurance. Dr. Vu took me in right away. At first, I was very skeptical as people take him as rude or say that he lacks sympathy, HE IS THE BEST. He's very serious, straight to the point, and shows no emotion and he is very old school, but that's just his style. I would recommend home especially if you are considering a c-section or your at risk of one! He really takes great care and puts the patient first. I needed an emergency c-section and he was at the hospital in 15 minutes. Everything was ready he just walked in and got the job done. He is calm and does a great job with C-section my scar is small and you can barely see it! Sometimes I forget I had c- section. The first chance I got I took my baby back to take a picture with him. My baby is now 2. Thank you Dr. Vu! read more

Dr. Vu was a doctor I took out of desperation during a very stressful time in my life. I had moved from SoCal back to the bay at about 23 weeks into my pregnancy. In one week I had called about 6 obgyn offices to see if anyone would take me in, no one would see me (because I was passed 20 weeks and also my due date was the week of Thanksgiving - was told many doctors dont like taking patients due around the holidays). I literally broke down and cried because it just felt like rejection. Dr. Vu's office was my last hope and to my luck, they took me. Pros: booking appointments quick and easy. Never waited longer than 10 mins to see the doctor. Cons: nurse Julie is fake af, machines always broken so dont expect an ultrasound to be done sometimes. Dr. Vu himself is blah, kinda like a stern Asian dad that's always judging your life choices but feels bad about being uninvolved in your life so he'll try to act interested in you but looks at you like I dont care lol but I'm not there to make friends, I just need him to check on the baby and be there for delivery, which he was there on time and did an amazing job (I had a c-section and he did great stitching me back up - many nurses at O'Connor Hospital know him as well, and they agreed he's kinda blah but always does a great job stitching up his patients). So if you're looking for a friendly, personable doctor with amazing bedside manners, Dr. Vu is NOT the doctor for you lol but if you need a doctor that will get the job done with very little side talking and dont mind his judging eyes, then Dr. Vu is an option for you. read more

I firmly believe this doctor just wants more money in his pocket by doing cesarean on me. I specially asked to do TOLAC (trial of labor after previous C-section). My oldest son was 6 when I was pregnant with my second. He said no, once a c-section it would be another c-section. He didn't even give me a chance to try. Now, I'm in school taking my RN license and I realize how greedy and unethical he is. He did a bad job on the incision also. Then he said to come back to his office after I HEALED and he would trim the scar off! And of course he only takes CASH for it. Horrible. Any woman out there thinks c-section will make you less perfect down there (or any other cosmetic reasons), think again. It will give you lots of complications later in life. Look up videos on Youtube about adhesion and placenta accreta or other c-section complications. I'm currently suffering from adhesion that formed in my abdomen after c-section(s). It attaches organs together as the scar heals. It is painful and requires a surgery called laparoscopic to cut/remove it. Chances it will grow again is high, just like how it did in the first place. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LVP6JngpgEE Placenta accreta is the life-threatening complication. If the placenta grows too deeply into the uterus c-section scar, it will not be able to expel after delivery. This increases risk of excessive blood loss after delivery. Transfusion is always a must. Doctors can remove (or NOT) depending on how aggressive it invades other organs. Natural birth is a better option if you get to choose. Below is recommendations on the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. July 22, 2010 (UPDATED July 26, 2010) -- Trial of labor after previous cesarean delivery (TOLAC) is safe and appropriate for most women with previous cesarean delivery, including some women with 2 previous cesarean deliveries, according to less restrictive guidelines issued by the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG). The revised recommendations for attempting vaginal birth after cesarean delivery (VBAC) are reported in a practice bulletin published in the August issue of Obstetrics & Gynecology. ACOG defines the term trial of labor as a trial of labor in women who have had a previous cesarean delivery, regardless of outcome. Also, the term vaginal birth after cesarean delivery is used to denote a vaginal delivery after a trial of labor. Benefits of VBAC "I believe, by emphasizing the safety of a trial of labor after a past cesarean delivery for most women, the guidelines will increase rates of TOLAC and thus increase rates of VBAC," Jeffrey Ecker, MD, past vice chair of the Committee on Obstetric Practice Bulletins, ACOG, and vice chair during document development, told Medscape Medical News. If there is a 0 star, I would give it to them. The Dr was nice but the lady Julie working in the front is mean as fuck. Don't trust these good review because they are probably all lies. We went here for our check up and they recommend us to go to some random blood testing center. It was during COVID and the test center was filthy with so much people crowded that we had no place to stand. We went to QUEST DIAGNOSTIC instead and when we came back for our visit that bitch yelled at us for going to a different test center. I guess they get some incentive from the other test center. Fast forward a few months later, my sis in law had to go to Singapore and we asked if they can send us a "Patient Consent Form" so that she can sign it in Singapore and sent it back to the Doctor Office and the mean lady in the front goes "we don't have a patient consent form, you have to have her come to the office or ask the doctor from SINGAPORE to request it and FAX it to them." I told her how it is possible a doctor office doesn't have a "patient consent form"? I asked her to teach me how to fax from Singapore all the way to here. She said that's not her business. They said we have to comply to their office rules and turned off the phone. They are clearly scared of losing pt's so they want to withhold pt information. I am reporting them to our insurance so they can get rid of the office in the doctor list. If you are pregnant or thinking of finding a doctor, avoid this place. They send you to random test centers because they get benefit from it even when your insurance covers QUEST DIAGNOSTIC. They don't care about you possibly getting sick. If you need a Vietnamese Dr, go find someone else. Anywhere is better than here. Save yourself some trouble and avoid this place. Julie, if you are reading this, screw you and your dumbass rules. Just because you work in the office doesn't mean shit. Learn to respect people's decision. Dr. Vu, sorry u had such a shitty receptionist, you were really nice. read more

If you have LOVE for your self and your BITS, don't come here. My BFF CAME for an emergency thingy, so for moral support, i tagged along. I did not like the way they used SCARE TACTICS to make you frighten stiff. They told her she is abnormal and it is likely cancer. They refused to let her view her own test charts??? they TOLD her she needs more test and a biopsy.like NOW NOW NOW... yet continue to corner her right there for the copay just moments after told her she might HAVE CANCER??? VU will not hesitate to make you feel irrelevant if you ask questions that he does not in the mood to answer..He will say something along the line "it's nothing, you are younger than my youngest child..." So Dear Doctor Vu....does it mean that my friend bits that you loped off is immaturely diagnosed too? These people obviously did not care much if you are sick or scare. Just pay up and say good bye to your bits. They are also shady because they won't take visa, check, and you get discount for paying CASH. We walked out of that place upset, scare the first time and the second time pissed off because it turns out she is normal, it is just a hormonal change. And lastly the "COPAY" was $365.00 and she has BCBS-PPO Platinum!!! read more

I came in for my initial appointment, but the doctor had been called to the hospital for an emergency. no big deal, i went home for a while, this is very close to my house. the majority of dr. vu's patients are vietnamese, as far as i could tell from my observation of his waiting room that was full and his wall of baby pictures. dr. vu is not that young. i'd guess he's in his late 50s? he mentioned that i am younger than his child. he has a calm and quiet manner. i felt very comfortable around him. they have a sign on the front desk that says cash only. i was concerned and asked them if that meant i couldn't use my HSA checking account for my co-pay. the girl behind the desk said that wasn't a problem, they just preferred that people not use checks, as they get a lot of bounced ones. they don't accept credit cards. the office is clean, but it's not fancy. they have lots of printed pieces of paper posted on the wall in vietnamese and english for things like lutesse (an eyelash regrowth prescription) and something about vaginal rejuvenation. the speculums were in a plastic tub of disinfectant on the floor. i have no complaints. read more

I have no problem with Dr. Giao. except he is hard to talk to, I feel uncomfortable when I want to ask him something. I feel like he doesn't want to talk. My daughter was delivered fine. but I was in pain as hell for 5 months. he don't want to extend my EDD, so I have to go to work as regularly. anyways, i think it is better to get a lady ob, she will understand you better. read more

I honestly think this place sucks!!! I guess unless you are asian you are not welcomed there( i have nothing against asians in fact i like them very much)...Everytime we went there the Dr. seems to be in a rush to get you out of the office. The receptionist has an attitude problem and the other has no clue what she is doing (but i think that is just because she is new there). While we are in the waiting room the employees behind the desk are speaking in their language the entire time and it makes you feel as they are talking s%#t about you... Twice we had an appt and when we got there they told us the doctor had left, yet they did not take the time to give a call to notify us of the situation... Bottom line...THEY SUCK!!!!! read more

Dr. Vu is a sweet, kind, and professional Doctor. I have always recieved the best service from him and his staff. Whenever I had an appointment, I was always seen within 10 mintues. Most of the time I was seen immediately. I really like the card that they sent us to congratulate us on our son's birth, I thought it was a nice gesture! read more

This was by far the worst dr ever! I came here based on the 3.5 star reviews. I regretted coming here from the moment the receptionist asked "what are you here for?" I told her I needed to get checked up because i have an ovarian cyst. This stupid b started laughing! I was so pissed off. Then she said "it's just funny because you look so young". Wtf is so funny?! I've been stressed out and in major pain. Anyways, I finally meet the dr. He's even worse than the receptionist. I had told him my other health problems and how I wanted to get pregnant and have my first baby. This MF told me to not get pregnant! He's basically a typical old, Vietnamese dr that only cares about money. Made me feel so stupid for booking an appointment to see him. I will never come back! I hope he has a heart attack and die! I feel sorry for his kids. Heartless a** mf read more

This review is for Dr. Giao's staff. They are absolutely horrible. This is my second pregnancy and I initially chose Dr. Giao to be my physician. During my first trimester I had horrible nausea that caused me to lose 6 pounds. At one point, i could not even hold liquids down. I called his office to tell them what was going on and requested an appointment with Dr. Giao. The receptionist refused me to give me an appt and even went as far as to tell me that eventhough I was throwing 4 times in a hour that that was normal and that I should relax. I eventually had to go to the ER because i continued to throw up any liquids i consumed. I was given an IV immediately because of dehydration and was sent home with anti nausea medication. I went and found another OB immediately after this because eventhough Dr. Giao is an ok doctor, I just couldnt deal with his staff any longer. read more

So I booked an appointment for Dr. Vu to get my first Pap smear. His receptionists are very nice and quick with any paperwork. He's very calm and professional though very curt. He was nice enough to chat me up to curb my nervousness but the exam itself was very rough. He did the pap smear first and it was painful. I'm not quite sure how thorough he is supposed to be but I was in the room for little more than 5 minutes before being rushed out. This was early in the morning so there weren't many people there. Overall, it was a slightly unpleasant experience. read more

Stop and read this message! Fraud call from this number. Today i received a lovely telephone call on my business line from Dr. Vu's office asking for my Girlfriend by name asking if she could pass along medical records of a fake patient. The call didn't make any sense to me and I offered to have my Girlfriend return the call. The voice on the other end then proceeded in trying to get my SSN to look up a medical record. Not sure what's going on in this office other than a blatant/lame attempt at identify fraud. Beware!! read more

What can I say. Dr. Vu front office staffs are really nice and quick. Check-in is fast and efficient, no wait ever, however, they sometime forget to call to remind you of your up coming appointments. You will probably meet a new office staff every couple of months. For some strange reason he has a fast turnover on office staff. The office isn't fancy, it is quite small, the equipment are not state of the art but they do the job. Yes, he does service many Vietnamese patiences, you can tell by the wall paper of baby pictures he has in his office. Dr. Vu is probably one of the better Vietnamese Doctor I have been to, but just like any other Vietnamese Doctor his appointments are fast, sometime lightning fast. In and out less then 15 mins. I choose Dr. Vu because of my friend's recommendation. I was in the process of switching insurance so I had to find a doctor quick. I decided to go with Dr. Vu because of his many years of experience. He always answered all my questions but he is quite curt, so don't expect to have a long conversation with him. He's only there to do his task and he's out. When it was time to delivery my baby, Dr. Vu came in the last 15 mins and delivered the baby, stitched me up and left. He was there every day to check on you at the hospital (I think he lives there, he was delivering babies every day or something, I pretty much saw him in the hall all the time). I wasn't happy that he gave me a episiotomy which led to a really bad tear. I'm not sure if it was necessary or not but the tear was bad and I wasn't prepare for long recovery. By the way you only get one post-partum appointment. If you decide to go in two or three times you will have to pay $85 each time. read more

He delivered both of out boys in 2007 and 2009. The whole process was smooth and efficient. He is a kind and professional doctor. Definitly recommended. And his first name is Giao. read more

I started seeing Dr. Vu a little over a year ago for the full duration of my first pregnancy up through delivery. The whole process was made so much easier, because as others have mentioned here, Dr. Vu is a kind and patient doctor. He was always available to answer my questions, even one time when I called in at an ungodly hour because I was freaked out about something, and made sure I understood what was going on at all times. The office itself is nothing fancy, but the staff and facilities are clean and seems to run pretty efficiently. You don't have to wait too long which is nice because I can't stand waiting in office waiting rooms...! As a plus, a few months ago, I wanted to try out Latisse which is a new lash growing medication, and his office hooked me up with a great intro price for me and my sister. The stuff really works, and although I'm pretty satisfied with the length of my lashes now, I noticed they're running a Buy one get one free deal right now for like $120 or $140, I can't remember exactly, but that's much cheaper than other places I saw online which charge $100 plus per. read more

This clinic has terrible customer service. I went in as a new patient and the administrative representative was completely unprofessional and rude. I would never recommend anyone to go to this clinic. read more

Great doctor...doesnt smile much but he knows what he's doing...he delivered 1000s of babies including ours a few days ago.

Dr. Giao Vu is amazing!!! He delivered both of my princesses. My first was breached so I had to have a C-section. I was scared going in but it went very smoothly. My scar was barely a thin line and even the nurses at the hospital compliment how great it look. He is a very busy doctor because he's well known and respected in the Vietnamese community. Despite this fact I was never kept waiting at my appointments. I love that because that means he also respect your time. You would be lucky if you have Dr. Giao Vu as your doctor. Your baby would be in great hands. read more

The lady who answered my phone was really nice. But Dr Vu Giao was kinda mean when he knew that my friend is a single mom.

This review is for the Front Desk Receptionist of this Dr. office. When we called her on 1/25/2018 at 11:00 AM to get clarifications for what she needs in terms of termination letter from previous health insurance coverage (the Mom is currently having has Medi-Cal for Prenancy). Instead of explaining for us what she needs, she said she did not have time to answer the phone, just let the Mom get the letters by herself, and it is none of the Dr. office's responsibility to help the Mom who in needs. Please stay away from this office if you needs help when having Medi-Cal, or you will end up encountering the same situation. One of the worst customer service we have ever get from a Dr. office! read more

I have been going to this office for years and i love it. Im in and out before 30 min and the doctor is great! Easy to make appointments easy to talk to. I have been coming for so many years the girls in the front office know me when i call LOL. Best OBGYN ever!!!! read more

Dr. Giao is the doctor I'm looking for: professional competence and good heart.

Best doctor ever! If you're looking for someone with experience and a one on one personnel that will remember you on a first name basis, this is your stop. Dr. Vu is very knowledgeable and does his best to tell you what is going on with your body. He delivered my third baby and now we are awaiting the arrival of my fourth. I had hyperemesis with both these pregnancies and he was a great help with prescriptions and giving advice for other options on coping. He's always on time and he's never judgmental! The staff go above and beyond to work with you whatever your situation may be. Anytime I've had to visit the ER, or labor and delivery, Dr. Vu has been there. He always has a suggestion and shows extensive empathy. I wouldn't have gotten this far without him. read more

I was told 'okay' after my surgery. My problem would rarely come back, and I should be worried free. After 6-7 months of the surgery, I had pain and decided to see a different doctor. The new MD told me that my problem is very severe and needs to be closely monitor after reviewing the medical record of the surgery that was done by VU MD. I felt he spent too little time with me (less than a few minutes for each visit), not every informative, and misinformed of my diagnosis. Very disappointed. I would not come back and not recommend this MD to anyone. read more
