I am so grateful to Dr. Tran and NP Kim for helping me overcome my severe eczema and dermatitis condition that persisted for over a year. I came into the office pretty distraught about how my skin was looking and NP Kim comforted me and provided me with a few solutions that really improved my condition while waiting for my dermatologist referral appointment. Honestly the WORST doctor my family & I have ever had. I stopped seeing him a year ago because he was extremely dismissive & blamed all of my health problems on my weight. I asked countless times for a psych referral & not once did he ever manage to do it for me. Fast forward, I feel inclined to write this review because my parents have also had recent experiences that are unforgivable. They travel a great deal to get care here only to be seen for a total of 3 minutes?! Yet again, he blamed their health issues on stress or anxiety -- that's not even the worst part. My mom came in because a lump developed on her neck and the AUDACITY for him to say it's EXTRA FAT?!?! Absolutely horrible. I had the most wonderful experience here. Im terrified of needles, I told them how nervous I was and they made sure I was comfortable. I had about 3 people check up on me while I was getting lips injections to make sure I was doing okay. I was so lucky to have nurse Thao (Instagram: nursethao_ ) who did such an amazing job with my lips! This is in response to Rosalie's comment: Dear Rosalie, Just to clarify the situation--I am a health care professional; more than half my family are doctors and dentists and pharmacists, so I know about HIPAA compliance more than the average person. The steps to the healthcare system is that once lab results are in, they get sent to the PRIMARY CARE PROVIDER of the patient, whose responsibility is to report to the PATIENT the results. Dr Thang DID NOT report the results to THE PATIENT (not his family) when he got the results; he did not even know he had results sent to him until my dad had to come in and ask him after a LONG 4-week wait of anticipating cancer. We called Dr Thang to prescribe something to alleviate his pain. We DID NOT ask for a narcotic (there are such things as Relafen, Toradol, Mobic which are non-narcotics); we have pharmacists in the family and we know the rules on that very well-- so please don't try to change the game and make us look like drug seekers. And you know what else, if you insinuate that my family tried to ask for narcotics on this yelp review, isn't this a BREACH of HIPPA compliance? As far as "Dr Tran would never say why do you bring him here?" Were you there? How would you know? What do we get from making this up? I decided to schedule an appointment here because I loved the results I saw on her after the procedure and hoped that I would get similar results as well. I am so in love with my results! Rosalie, the careless staff, just for the record, I did find a doctor - a good-reviewed doctor that unlike dr. Tran, he is caring and has nice staff. Just an update to respond to your lies: 1. Your staff specifically and explicitely told me "you're all set and have 0 balance" so what you said is a contradiction. I encourage people to record you or take a written note since your statements are not stable, but faraway than truth. 2. I did not have time to find a good doctor. Needed imediate lab orders so I HAD TO make an appointment with you (unlike my will) it was not because dr. Tran is a good doctor or you guys are nice. I would definitely find a good doctor after that session which I already did!! 3. I already spoken up with the dr but he continously was saying "ok? Anything else?" to make you leave. The max time I have been at the dr office was 5 minutes. 4. You knew i had only a few days before my insurance gets reset for the year since i explaned to you but you waited and canceled my last appointment that you gave to me on the last days of the year to make me lose my benefit for 2016. Who does that cruelty? And you call yourself caring?! 5. You really don't know what you're doing. First, you set appointment for patients and then, you canceled it after 1 week! Make up your mind! 6. I had 2 insurances. One with copayment and the other with deductible. You did not send charge to them. Guess why, because your office told that "the person running insurance is on vacation and will be back in March" while my insurance would get expired at the end on Feb. Thus, it is proven that you do not care about your patients. 7. When i received a paper for payment even though was said multiple times that "you have 0 balance", I called the office and asked to talk to dr tran. After many times calling and asking to talk to dr within days, i finally succeeded. I explained to him the horrible experience that i have had with his staff. Dr said don't worry i will fix it for you and he finally did (he also said you do not pay). Thus, i never said i will not pay. I still kept dr voice message. Why the heck doesn't yelp allow zero stars? This so called "DOCTOR" needs to take a class in bed side manner. My best friend goes in for a check up because he thinks he is dying. He has shortness of breath and tingling in his appendages last month. In December Thang Tran MD ( mixed up for DU MA!) had a fantastic rating of 5 star on Yelp. We thought we could depend on him being young and college educated in the States. Apparently, his medical degree means jack to me, my dear friend, or his other patients. He waited two weeks for his blood test results to see if he had terminal cancer or high cholestrol or SOMETHING or ANYTHING.......he never called him back to see if he had died in my sleep. Lam got worried and called the office back. Ring, Ring... An old lady, the office manager, said that they never called him because he "must have been fine." Are you kidding me??? Does this mean that they never reviewed his file until he took the time to call in for a check up? What if something was wrong? If his health insurance did not cover this horrible routine check up, he said that he would come back as a patient and demand for a refund. Dr Thang, if you are smart enough, you need to pretend to care about your patients and call them back personally. Like other bad reviews I would give 0 stars if I could. Called three times to incur a doctors note for work. Was told that he was at jury duty and would get a call back the next day which would've been last Wednesday. It is now Tuesday and no such call was received. Do you even care about your patients? I never called again because I got fed up. UPDATE: I recently suffered a work related injury and was seeking a doctors note to claim disability. In order to do this I must provide a written explanation from my doctor to provide my employer. Unfortunately (Dr.) Tran's (or whoever wrote the note for him) vocabulary barley exceeds that of a 7th graders and is hardly legible... here is a tiny excerpt from the note where he tries to explain the cause of my injury for your reading enjoyment : " This may because she was long-time which was in has to carry heavy tray." what does that even mean?! I thought they were unprofessional before but this takes it to the next level... AVOID THIS PRACTICE AT ALL COSTS! it is in your best interest to travel a little farther to see someone who knows what they are talking about... PS when i came pick up the papers, the receptionist boss lady has the nerve to comment on my yelp review saying she doesn't appreciate my yelp review. Sorry not sorry i am going to warn others about the shady business being done here. She explained that the doctor was on jury duty, which i understood and was patient about, because i understand everyone gets a handful at times. But after two/three calls she assured me that she left a note on his desk and would address it first thing in the morning and give me a call. When i pointed that out to her, she kept saying that doctor has been busy all week out on jury duty, noted... I again said i gave them plenty of time before writing my review, and the office simply could've called back saying that the doctor was busy instead of no call no update for me. She ended the rant with me saying "God Bless You", i am quite offended as you may or may not see why. If this isn't enough, Dr. Thang told me he doesn't fill out disability for whatever reason, and i respect that. Yet I repeatedly asked him if he could refer me to another doctor who does, he told me he doesn't know anyone who fills out disability forms. Later on the papers i asked, which are summaries of my visits.. It states that he referred me to Dr.Rosen, whose name I have never heard in my life, this is pretty alarming. Amazing staff and doctor. Such a nice and professional place I went to this doctor for my immigration medical exam. The experience 7 March - I called in for an appointment. I was explained about the procedures, fees and documents I need to bring. Christine and Christina where very knowledgeable and kind to listen and explain each and every details. 8 March - I went to the office at bbn 9.30. I was welcomed nice. Given the documents and explained to fill it. The nurse took vitals asked every single question that is asked to a new patient. He was humble and very proffesional. After that Doctor came in, he examined me in detail. Asked me questions and explained what is next. He ordered the needed labworks. An amazing, humble proffesional doctor. He made me walk back to this care team. They explained the labworks and give me the papers for the labwork. Finally they given me a detailed bill and I paid it. What is the difference here? Such a proffesional place . Not hungry for money. They explain all details. They listen to you. No hidden fees. I would recommend any of my friends or family this place. Such a wonderful place. She made a few mistakes that we noticed before sending papers and she fixed them but she still made one. I have always hated going to the doctors office, and haven't seen Dr. Tran for over 10 years, but the moment he saw me, he remembered exactly who I was, and even remembered my parents and brother's names! Dr. Tran's staff are very friendly and was very patient with me when I came into the office, and Dr. Tran was very professional and helped me with my issues. When i was trying to explain my symptoms to him, he knew exactly what was wrong and helped me with my issues. Before I left the office after my appointment, he made sure that I scheduled a return appointment with him so that he can follow-up with my problems. I had been having a sore throat and dry cough for about a week. The cough kept getting worse and worse. I tried to drink warm water with honey and lemon but that didn't help much. I took DayQuil, NyQuil, Robitussin, Delsym but none seemed to do anything besides making me drowsy. Out of exasperation, I called Dr. Thang Tran late in the evening, after his office has closed. He didn't seem to mind; he offered to call in a prescription to my pharmacy. All I needed to do was to go to that pharmacy and pick up that medicine. Oh my God, that thing worked like a miracle: just 5 mL (one tea spoon) and all my coughing was gone. I actually slept well for a change. I'm so thankful for the good doctor. Now, I have been going to this doctor for nearly 10 years. Before that, I've seen many different doctors and specialists. Dr. Thang Tran is hand down the most genuine, caring, attentive MD that I have ever met. And believe me, I've met my fair share of them (well, I'm not exactly a model of health and wellness -- you know what I mean). He always takes the time to talk and listen to me. He never rushed me or acted all conceited and superior (like yeah, I'm a freaking doctor, you know!) He's also very thorough. A few years ago, he pressed me to take some blood tests (I didn't want to, thinking I was OK and didn't need them). Thanks to those tests, we found out early that I had Hepatitis C, so I got the treatment and rid of the virus. It's true that his receptionist can sound rough sometimes. But because I've been to this office so long I realize that she's truly quite nice and sweet; she just doesn't talk so nicely. I don't have any problems with her at all. In fact, I've dealt with too many receptionists and/or medical assistants who were far worse. I read all the earlier comments here. I've got to say that the person who said the doctor just cared about money is totally full of it. While many other doctors out there schedule their patients just a few minutes apart, don't even have time to make I contact when they see you, Dr. Thang Tran spends at least 10-15 minutes with each patient because he cares for his clients and their well-being. One reviewer blasted the doctor based on her friend's experience. She never met the doctor, never called or visited the office herself and she wrote the review -- how lame was that? Sorry, if you don't directly have first-hand experience, I don't think you have the right to review or judge anyone. Another reviewer trashed the doctor because he/she couldn't get an immediate appointment based on her urgent situation. Here's someone who had stopped seeing the doctor for 4 years, suddenly called the office and demanded an appointment right away. When denied, got all upset. Are you a 4 years old toddler? Because that's how my young son behaves. If you have an emergency, please go to the ER; you can't demand to be seen by a family doctor when his schedule is fully booked. What about all those patients with appointments, the doctor should send them home because they aren't as sick as you? Doctors are human, too. Although we regard them highly as a group because they "save lives", there are bad doctors just as in any other profession. So, it's such a great fortunate thing for me personally to have found Dr. Thang Tran. I highly recommend him, his service and his office to anyone who wants a caring, understanding doctor. I came in and was unable to get any sort of help from Tran because he did not diagnose for the kind of symptoms I was having. However, this review is for the awfully unpleasant atmosphere in this office that people on yelp should know about before they choose to go to this office. First off, the couch in the waiting room is very uncomfortable, second the staff is not dressed professionally and the 'nurse' (if she was even a nurse) was wearing an Adidas track suit and was asking me very personal questions, turned away from me entering them into a computer. She did not even introduce herself or tell me her name. Furthermore, once she left, I sat in the small room with no windows and cold ac air for 10-15 minutes, listening to 106.1 the mix that they have playing in the whole office, which soon after playing some tacky music, played ads which I was forced to listen to. What doctors office plays a radio hits station ? The whole experience was very uncomfortable. Then once the doctor finally came in, I tell him what I came for, which I told the person on the phone who still scheduled me, he told me that I need to go to a GI, that he can't diagnose me and I shouldn't waste his or my time after which I promptly got up and left. If you're into that kind of environment, by all means go here, but I find this to be quite unacceptable to put vulnerable people with health issues into such an anxiety inducing environment. read more

Dr. Thang Tran is an excellent Internist. I've been a patient of his for five years now. He is very knowledgeable and a caring physician. I am a nurse at Lucile Packard Children's Hospital and have worked and interacted with many physicians and found that he has the best bedside manner. His holistic approach to each visit made me feel at ease every time I came to see him whether it was an urgent acute problem or a chronic one. He always addresses other issues besides my current complaints and never fails to follow up on my response to any treatment he prescribed. His office staff are also warm and welcoming. I always look forward to receiving a personal live voice visit reminder versus an automated one. NO GOOD I had a visit at the office for a prescription of medication ive been taking consistently for 8 years. I asked the nurse practitioner upon the visit if she would be able to write 3 months worth of prescriptions for the drug. She said that was fine, she would write one on the spot, but that I would have to come into the office to pickup other 2 scripts in a month. I can say I liked the nurse practitioner and feel that she was very good. A month later Dr Tran overrides her and says they will not be writing the script. Seriously, Ive been on the script for 8 years, I doubt he even referenced the chart before making that decision. Poor form, I needed this med, I don't function well without it. Also, I had to call four times just so the clerical staff would give the message to the np/dr. Then, they failed to call me back after they got the communication from the Dr. Very disorganized, poor follow through. In life, One should do what they say they will do. I had a bad infection and needed medical attention right away. I called his office and was able to get an appointment right away. Dr. Tran is very caring and knowledgeable. He wrote me a prescription, sent me to a lab to get things checked out. I've also used Dr. Tran for my botox injection and laser treatment. The staff was very helpful in getting discount points from Botox for me so that helps to lower the pricing for my treatment. I come back every three months for my injections. For me, I actually had a very good experience with the nurse practitioner here. I forget her name but she was a younger asian woman. I came in because my doctor was out of town and I needed a prescription refill. The front desk was very helpful in getting me in that same day and stayed a little late to get my appointment done, very friendly group of gals. The nurse practitioner took some basic vitals went over my info and got me what I needed. I probably will not be making this doctor my permanent health care provider. I've been a patient since 2012 and have referred my members to Dr. Thang. He is very charismatic and attentive to my needs. He asks questions that get to the roots of my illness. As one of the review said, he remembers your name and not jut a patient. The office staffs are very friendly. I was referred to do my annual blood test for my preventative care and some how I still charged for a couple hundred dollars. I brought the bill to the office and the staff took care of it, no further incident, The office is very clean, neat and professional. No patients' file are visible because the great Dr. has upgraded to e-file. Very cool and SAFE, your medical records are not in jeopardy if the office gets broken in.
