Poor instacart service for grocery pickup from this store. I will not be using this service again…read more There have been times when they were several hours behind in readying groceries for pickup. The final straw was when an employee literally lectured me that I had to be in the 2 spaces provided in order to receive my groceries. I was in an adjacent space and they had my car make, model, and color. I had to hassle to get my groceries. The employee was devoid of customer service. I have no doubt that there will be further trouble with that particular employee; he's a bad hire and poorly trained. When I receive my vegetables most of the instacart employees do not put them in small plastic bags. My lettuce, cabbage, and other vegetables are tossed into the big bag uncovered. This store has forgotten that the customer comes first.

The buffet at Whole Foods will forever be (as long as I've lived so far) my favorite buffet of all…read moretime, and this is coming from someone who truly appreciates the buffet experience, especially because of the variety, even though I don't "binge" the way I used to anymore for health reasons, and the buffet is take-home only (I think?). Not only is there such a wide variety of tasty food at the Whole Foods buffet, but you actually feel healthy eating it, and you can make it highly nutritious. You can get excited about the salads, or the roasted vegetables, or the orange chicken, or even that herb feta that you can quite frankly put on anything and everything. The way they make their orange chicken is honestly my favorite. I'm not usually someone who gets excited about orange chicken, but the way they do it here (it's just amazing) and hard to beat. I also love that I can mix together a bunch of healthy salads at once, and I really appreciate the flavor profiles and the freshness (it just elevates the whole experience). I'm honestly forever inspired by this place. It makes me want to look up recipes, learn how different flavors go together, and experiment on my own. It's as much a learning experience as it is a health experience. Anyway, I know it's not cheap, but for me, it's still really worth it. It's consistently something that makes me feel "renewed" so I'm going to keep it as a part of the routine as long as I can afford it. Another cool perk is that if you're a Prime member, you get 5% back if you use your Chase/Whole Foods/Amazon setup. And honestly, the customer service at Chase Bank is the best, and Prime is convenient, so it all just goes together; and while I realize they're kind of taking over the world right now (they are), they're doing it in a way that works for me, so it is what it is. Also, the kale salads (people really need to understand how good kale can be when it's done right) are nothing short of life changing and it can give you the inspiration you need to make it yourself. In addition to the hot bar, they also have specialty items I can only really find here (like Pacha bread, seed crackers, unsweetened coconut yogurt, broccoli greens, organic baby kale greens, and a bunch of other unique, healthy options that are honestly really exciting). That said, baseline prices are definitely high. For example, tart cherry juice at Whole Foods is literally around $14, whereas at Target (across the street) it's more like $5. So it's one of those things where you kind of have to go back and forth and be strategic about what you buy where. Let's face it, Whole Foods is not leading the world in cheap prices. Because it's pricey, you do have to be real and shop at other grocery stores when you can, but every time I go, I can't help myself from getting at least a little bit of the buffet food if it's open, because that's really where it's at.

They only carry Ultra-Pasteurized Organic Milk, which doesn't taste as good as plain pasteurized. The only benefit to Ultra-Pasteurization is to increase shelf life. Also, I recently bought a container of Cole Slaw from the prepared foods bar. The container was only about 3/4 full and the price was $9.47, which is ridiculously overpriced. The Cole Slaw tasted horrible, seriously, the worst Cole Slaw I ever ate. Lastly, I hate those yellow sale signs. They are so deceiving because you think you are getting a sale price, but when you get to the register, you pay a higher price if you are not a prime member. Ever since Amazon took over Whole Foods, they just aren't as good as they used to be. Meh, No Cheers!

Not only is it the middle of the city, its also a college neighborhood, so prices at CVS, Market District, Target, and other nearby options can be kind of prohibitive, especially if you're on a tighter budget. This Dollar General is always well-stocked on food, drink, and snack items. You can find your usual drugstore foods -- crackers, cookies, chips, etc. -- but it also has some slightly more robust options as well. No produce, and not enough to replace a full grocery store, but definitely enough to knock down the grocery bill. This Dollar General also stocks plenty of reasonably priced home goods. If you're looking for common kitchen gadgets or cookware like trays, can openers, storage containers, and so on this is where you want to be. A cookie sheet will set you back $16+ at Market District, but around $5 at DG. You can also find plenty of personal products here. Name brands like Sensodyne, Dr. Teals, Garnier, and others I wasn't sure I'd find here. Pet products too. The only drawback is that this store tends to be understaffed. It's not uncommon for customers to be lined up by the register, yelling back through the store to get assistance. It's not the staff's fault, but it is something to keep in mind because it can make it hard to get in and out in a hurry. Overall a great addition to the neighborhood though!

I can barely believe this place is on the internet. A small store in a small town, but they have…read morelots of character. I grew up on their pepperoni rolls and dollar bottles of chocolate milk. They are very resilient and fought to re-open after a damaging flood. The community loves this place and it is way better and more friendly than Huckleberry's, which is more famous for getting robbed. The review sounds like it deserves 5 stars, but the fact is it's still a small convenience store in rural PA. Nothing out there is 5 stars :p
