I have lived nearby this little shop all of my life! It's a family run business that still offers great customer service! Mr. Mark runs a tight ship and the younger generation has been taught to give great customer service as well! I order Breadworks bread every month and you can always find something that you were not originally looking for! They have a little bit of everything! If possible, Mark will order it for you! We stumbled across this market on our motorcycle ride. It's a small town privately owned market carrying a lot of Italian deli meats and specialty meats. It is a cute and quaint market with specialty items. The deli offers multiple different sandwiches that they make to order and they are humongous for the price of $11, it was a great deal! The cashier/owner was so friendly and helpful and even the worker that was assisting anyone that needed help on the floor to find something they need was also very helpful. BEST HOAGIES period. Quality and reasonable. These are a family staple in my home for a regular day or a party. Everyone is friendly and goes out of their way to be helpful. This family owned business is awesome. Very friendly and is well stocked with great fruit, veggies, a full deli, and tons of other stuff. They make use of every inch of the property. They have these amazing hoagies made on a full loaf of Cellone's bread. Italian with plenty of fresh meat and cheese - and all the fixin's - lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles, and banana peppers. It's the best!!! They had these awesome little pepperoni rolls at the register yesterday for like $2.50 each - sooo good. Two hoagies and three rolls for $27!!! It's a really good deal. First time here. The hoagies were excellent. Lots of meat unlike most places and the quality of meat and cheese is top notch. The staff we met were very helpful and friendly. I absolutely LOVE this place. It's been family owned and operated for ages. My grandmother brought my mom here when she was a girl, and we still go there. I'm 40 so that should tell you a little something about Decarlo's longevity. For a little fruit market in a small town, they have some great things. I stop in for the bread-yummy, fresh, crusty bread they have delivered every morning form a bakery in Pittsburgh. You have to get there early though if you want a loaf, because it's usually sold pretty quickly. You can also stock up on specialty items like tahini, great Italian salami, a huge cheese selection...I can't say enough. There's a wide selection of products and produce, reasonably priced. And you have to try their whole loaf Italian bread hoagies...out of this world! The only down side to Decarlo's is the parking. It's located on an oddly shaped lot, and getting in and out of the parking lot can be a real challenge sometimes, but worth the aggravation in my opinion. read more

The produce manager at one Giant Eagle actually told me to look in Dairy....Well, DeCarlo's had it. If you're looking for that elusive ingredient, try DeCarlo's! They may be small, but it's amazing what they carry. The family owned business has been on the corner of Lovedale & Glassport-Elizabeth Rd. for quite a long time. How in the world have we been going past DeCarlo's Market without going in until today? We live in Jefferson Hills and have heard about them but never had the time to stop in. Boy are we the losers. Today we got an Italian Hoagie and a Ceasar Salad and they both were delicious. The hoagie was $7.50 loaded with meat and cheese and on a whole loaf of Italian bread. Bought chestnuts Small Business Saturday. The owner even gave me recommendations on how to cook them. Thought that was lovely. I got them there last year-Delicious. This year horrible! DeCarlo's is THE BOMB! We might be their longest distance semi-regular customer, as we come up from Louisville, Kentucky. Whenever we visit family, we make it a point to stop there. Their deli meats are unparalleled for deliciousness (is that a word?) and value. We used to go to Kazanski's in Squirrel Hill until we decided to stop at DeCarlo's one day on an excursion to Shop n Save. We haven't been back to Kazanski's since. Their Pastrami is "to die for" good, as is their Cappi and their aged Fontina, and all of the other typical deli meats. Down here in Louisville, the best we can get is Boar's Head. Sigh ... Through talking with the people there, I found out that the place where Dad used to buy fruits and vegetables (Dominic's in Clairton) was owned by Dominic DeCarlo (the brother of the founder of DeCarlo's in Elizabeth). We have spent many hours reminiscing with the good people at DeCarlo's (Still family owned and operated) about the wonderful qualities of Dominic and his brother! This place is a MUST VISIT. My only complaint, other than parking (as was mentioned before) is that they don't have a website, and they don't have a satellite store in Louisville... read more
