The girl who first answered any of my calls was very unprofessional saying she would call me back with a quote, she was currently driving . She never called me back I called again on 8/22 and simply said the van was already booked (but never even asked what day i needed it for) when I told her it wasn't until September she said oh yeah nevermind it's broken down not available. I called again beginning of September just to get the black car services, no longer the van. The employee said they could pick us up and do the drop off for our time and location, got my card info and said she would email me the receipt. No reciept was ever emailed to be but I saw a hold on my card, thought everything was kosher. On my wedding date we never received a call NOR text to confirm pickup . We ended up making other arrangements. Card charge never finalized. Assumed they didn't book us properly. Three weeks after I get a call from a different driver asking me where we were at and that they were at our pick up location. I advised the date we hired them was 3 weeks ago. He was very apologetic and asking me for the females name that booked us. And left it at that. Now over a month and a half after from the actual date of wedding I see there's a cancellation charge, and an email sent to me saying it was non refundable. I called the company and they knew my name and why I was calling , he stated it was my fault for not calling them to cancel. I never wanted to cancel the services simply I was not picked up on the date of hire. He will not refund us. When we spoke on 9/28 he apologized for THEIR mistakes. now it's "my fault". Belittled and yelled at me for not calling the day of my wedding to remind them to pick us up. He could have easily left it at I'm sorry and not charge us

My family and I were thinking of using the transportation provided by Tour New Mexico for the…read moreupcoming Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta, mainly because we have a family member who needs special accommodations because he is disabled. Tam went above and beyond to try to find us a feasible transportation option, especially since a lot of Greyhound buses are not ADA compliant. She even contacted the City of Albuquerque to look into options. But unfortunately, the city does not have accommodating options, and at most, the transit shuttle that could be arranged for someone with a disability does not drop off that person and their respective family members onto the balloon field. What really impressed me was that Tam called me back at least a few times to keep me updated about her findings, and she did a fantastic job following up with me! In the midst of these frustrations, Tam was so awesome and she suggested that our family try the "Balloons and Breakfast" event in the morning, or the "Dine and Glow" event in the evening at the Albuquerque Balloon Museum, which she said has some of the best views of the Mass Ascension in the morning and the Balloon Glow in the evening. Furthermore, the Balloon Museum has parking for handicapped visitors and their accompanying family members, and a family restroom, as well as flushable toilets. She pointed out that this would probably be a better option compared to the Gondola Club option, which my sister and I tried last year when it was just the two of us attending the Balloon Fiesta. The Gondola Club is outdoors on the field, with tents covering the all-you-can-eat breakfast buffet and the unlimited amounts of coffee and drinks. It certainly is a fantastic option for guests who like to be right out on the balloon field, and who are capable of going all the way out there. However, I can see how challenging it can be for people who are handicapped to go all the way out there, especially since there is no handicapped parking right up near the balloon field. I was so ecstatic that Tam presented these options and I thanked her for going above and beyond! She said that she was just doing her job in terms of trying to make sure that my family and I truly get to enjoy the Balloon Fiesta as much as we can, including our family member who is disabled. I thought that it was incredibly thoughtful of her to think outside the box for us, and suggest ways to make our upcoming trip to Albuquerque a pleasant one for our entire family. She said that she is in the tourism business and this is what she is supposed to do. But quite frankly, I know that not all tourism companies go the extra mile in terms of looking for special or more feasible options for people with disabilities. And some tourism companies could care less about accommodating people with special needs. But Tam really felt for us and went above and beyond to provide us with suggestions that would minimize some of the stress and challenges that we were facing in terms of traveling with a family member who has special needs! I have to say that, if I ever want to go on a tour with Tour New Mexico in the future, I'll definitely check in with Tam! There are parts of New Mexico that I would like to check out further, like the White Sands National Monument in Alamogordo! I visited Santa Fe with my sister last year, but we only really got to check out Old Town Santa Fe. After my experience communicating with Tam of Tour New Mexico, I certainly would love to check out what Tour New Mexico has in terms of showcasing the highlights of New Mexico to prospective visitors!

Fortunately, Jason saw a post I made on Hurtigruten's Facebook page and he asked if he could help. I am so thankful that I turned my reservation over to him! Jason coordinated all the remaining particulars of the trip for me (excursions, additional stays on the front and back end of the trip, and transportation). In the middle of the trip, Hurtigruten e-mailed all the participants about a daylong delay. Within two minutes of my getting that notice, Jason also messaged to let me know. He was totally on top of things and stayed in touch with Hurtigruten to find out exactly what was happening and determine the impact to the rest of our itinerary. The morning I was leaving, Jason texted me at 3:00 a.m. to let me know that the transportation he had arranged for me was waiting in front of the hotel. That is what I call great service! I highly recommend Jason. He was a real lifesaver!

But, I digress. After spending three days in a "luxury" hotel for slightly over 100.00 a night and no WiFi, (they are next...) I found this diamond in the rough. Its tucked among a plethora of other major hotel chains on the East side of Albuquerque. The fact that its right across from a Target and other retail stores and good dining is plus... not that i don't love the free entertainment of some Walmart patrons, but after spending the wee hours of the morning in a car dealership to get a WiFi connection, I was in no mood. The rooms are beautiful (no snapchat model shock here) extremely clean, and the entire facility is smoke free, and a restaurant style breakfast is served in the a.m. The best part however, was the warm and super friendly customer service i received when i walked through the door. I was primed for an aloof and obdurate reception at best, but was gifted with quite the opposite from Sheri Brewer. A fraction of the cost and far more luxury with a friendly face. I will definitely be back!

Not only was the room the biggest I've had on my vacation across the country, it was one of the cleanest. Nicest "inn" for a fact. The room was quiet and in a separate building behind the lobby. It was convenient though and felt more private. The cook to order breakfast was different and my little one loved it! The rooms are pretty cheesy and outdated, but the setting in the garden is awesome. The only downsides are that if you have your wedding there, prepare to plan EVERYTHING yourself. That wasn't a huge deal for me because I am a wedding and event planner anyway...but for most other brides it might be a bit off-putting. I give it a solid B+/A-
