It stopped working in June of 2024. They came out the next day to look at it (which we were very grateful for). However, the problem was electrical, so they did not resolve it (we had to bring in an electrician). I was shocked when I saw the bill for the service visit. I expected the $100 through the door fee that they told us about over the phone and expected to pay a little more to diagnose the problem/for the hourly rate. However, I was charged for the $100 service fee, plus another $63 for them to "Rinse off condenser coil water only." That is exactly what the line item says in the bill. I'm not happy that they charged me $63 to use my hose and water rinse off cotton from the unit. Actually, I had rinsed off the condenser the day before, which is even more frustrating. Honestly, if they labeled it in the bill as their hourly service fee rate, I wouldn't be as upset. In the end, the issue was electrical, so they likely couldn't have fixed the AC anyway. It was just frustrating that they charged so much to use my hose and water to spray something off for a few minutes when I could have done this myself for free.

Let's first admit that few of us enjoy spending money on house things that are basically invisible. Myself included. 2. I bought my house in Park Township a year ago, and I still don't have furniture in the living room. The plan was to tackle those purchases this summer, but alas, my a/c went out. ‍ So I called the company my folks' have used for decades, and the experience was lackluster at best. 3. So I called B&D for an estimate--and they were here within 2 days! Chad was super helpful, answered a bunch of questions, then sent a straightforward quote with options. He was wonderful to deal with. 4. After choosing a/c and furnace pair, B&D scheduled the installs quickly and as promised. Dan and Jon arrived on time, were friendly and respectful of my home, made sure everything functioned correctly, and made sure I knew how to use the new system. They were fabulous. 5. Lastly, if you don't know, purchasing a/c with a furnace qualifies for rebates. And we're talking serious rebates if you're willing pay more up front (and hold off on living room furniture a bit longer ). Plus I didn't even have to deal with that paperwork process myself--Kim handles it with ease. She was awesome. The Baumann and DeGroot team is simply amazing from start to finish. Highly recommend.

It pains me to update my review like this, because they really do seem like nice people,…read morehowever..... I have spent thousands of dollars with climate guys expecting my mini split issues to be resolved, but unfortunately, they seem to lack the experience needed to fix them. Despite multiple visits and a significant investment to route the condensation outside the house, I'm left with the same issue I started with and had to pay someone else to come out and resolve it. This is after having the owner out. What's most frustrating is that most recently the mini split continued to leak after they routed it outside so they came back out and told me it was dirty. They "cleaned it" by spraying some cleaner on it, pouring my vinegar on it and blowing air through the line with his mouth. Then charged me $375 for a cleaning and trip fee. I of course complained about the charge given the ridiculous effort and the fact that it absolutely did not fix the issue. The owner came out, told me he didn't know what the issue was and that he would call Fujitsu on my behalf. Well that never happened. So....I called someone else who adjusted and leveled the unit and guess what? Climate guys installed it wrong. I attached a pic of the mess they left outside-filling a gap with spray foam. Instead of solutions, I've gotten excuses and recommendations for more costly work, without results. For the amount of money I paid climate guys over the last year, I expected not only competent service but also honesty and follow-through. I should have known when every single time (and there were lots of home visits, lots...) that they tried to sell me a maintenance program. So I said fine, let's do it. And they never followed through. I cannot recommend this company to anyone looking for reliable mini split repairs. If you're considering them, I strongly suggest doing thorough research first or exploring other providers who will actually stand behind their work.
