We had a lot of fun on the Ghosts & Graveyards Tour in Boston, even though it wasn't quite what we expected. I really enjoyed hearing all the spooky stories while riding the bus -- our guide was fantastic! The bus itself was comfortable, and I appreciated that the staff tried to keep groups seated together (even if not everyone followed the suggestion). There was more walking than I anticipated, so after a full day of exploring the city, I was definitely feeling it by the end! We passed the ticket booth for this tour as we walked to our hotel and immediately thought it looked fun. As soon as we got to our hotel, we bought tickets for that evening's tour. We had such a good time! The tour guide(s) were great--so knowledgeable and funny! If was so fun to tour graveyards at night and hear the stories of the past. There is some walking, some of it uphill, so if you have serious mobility problems, talk to them first. This was a fun trolley and haunted tour! It featured the right amount of historical backstory and spookiness, as well as a perfect blend of walking and riding the trolley. Some reviews have said it's a bit too corny but like... look at the pictures? They're in costume - former theater kids gotta eat too, you know? The stories and sites were fantastic. Some money from your ticket actually goes to support the upkeep of the cemeteries. I was able to snag the last 2 tickets of the night for Saturday October 28th and I'm so glad I did! Our tour guide was an absolute delight! The night was quite warm for late October so it was a super comfortable tour. It really doesn't matter where you end up on the bus as the tour happens in the graveyards, but if you want to check out the streets, make sure your partner/friend/whomever lets you have the window side. (I say this because a lady threw a full tantrum about wanting a different bus with different windows, but it legit makes no difference). The seats are comfortable. We hopped on our bus, sat down, and began the tour a few minutes early. You drive through downtown Boston and stop at 2 burial grounds. Both of which are very old and have torrid histories. We had just visited one earlier that day, but we got a different perspective after dark as well as stories about it's history and those buried within. There is very minimal walking involved, and could probably easily accommodate those with certain mobility concerns. The tour lasts about 90 minutes, and they are very good about staying on track. I was thoroughly impressed with our guide, the tour, and the ticket purchasing experience. I have spent lots of time in Boston and I highly recommend doing this! read more

This was a really fun activity to do while in town! I'm guessing it's very much geared towards tourists, but that's fine. It was still well worth it! It's not cheap, but considering you're paying multiple people for several hours of their time, it's not bad at all. We were on a bus to get from place to place, and we got out and walked to and through two different graveyards as well as the famous Boston Common. They had wonderful ghost stories to share at each location, along with viewing some famous gravestones! We unknowingly already visited the second graveyard earlier that day, so if you want to avoid any "spoilers," keep that in mind! Still, they were able to tell us stories about each place that we would never have known on our own. The real key to the success of our tour definitely came down to the acting of the tour guides. And here is where this tour really shines. Our guide, Hamish H... um... something... I forget and I don't have his card handy... anyway... Hamish was amazing! He included just enough camp to make it not too over-the-top with the moody scariness... but it was serious enough that you got a feel for some real actual creeps that undoubtedly Bostonians who experienced these phenomena felt. It's not a circus show of smoke and mirrors, and it's not all horror and haunts either. It's a great balance between the two. I think this tour would be okay for most kids in fact (though I don't know if they have an age limit, sorry...). I'm glad we did the tour! It was a great experience, and our guides were exceptional. I would recommend this to anyone to do, and I would definitely do it again if the opportunity arises! read more

This was a entertaining touristy thing to do in Boston. Something different to do than a basic bus tour of the city. The stories were factually correct and told in a way that kept your attention. The staff is really committed to keeping character and went all in on their performance. This wasn't "scary", but based on the content I wouldn't have small children attend. There is walking involved. You spend about 50% of the time on the bus and the other half walking around. read more

The driver was one of the rudest people I have ever come across. People were kicked off of the tour for absolutely no reason. He just didn't like them. Said they were all "smoking dope" . No one was smoking anything! Very boring and I could not wait until it was over. I hope the other people get a full refund. So many other great things to do in Boston. Highly recommend! Our group of 6 were very impressed with the tour and history! We had so much fun. Not easy to do as we had 3 generations to please. We were also grateful for the bus driver and how they handled a group of extremely drunk and entitled adults. We did this over St. Patty's weekend so we knew it could be wild, however, the drunk & belligerent adults were awful and almost ruined our good time. At least one of them was smoking pot on the bus. Not cool with kids on the bus. Thankfully the bus driver and tour guide dealt with them pretty quickly on and the rest of the tour was extremely enjoyable. Petunia was absolutely fantastic. She clearly KNOWS her stuff, loves the theatrical aspect of the job and is really talented at it, and she even sang a tour-appropriate song to us ("little man who wasn't there"). He was an extremely good storyteller, hilarious with the crowd, quick, and an overall delight. He told some great stories and kept everyone invested the whole time. Absolutely HORRIBLE customer service from the brunette woman working the 8 PM tour tonight. She ruined the entire experience, was rude, and quite frankly, impossible to understand. When we were able to hear what she was saying, she personally ridiculed multiple people in my group and made everyone uncomfortable. As someone who was raised in the area, I truly hope no one goes to one of these tours and allows this to represent the people of Boston. On the other hand I would HIGHLY recommend the Mobsters and Lobsters tour as they provide friendly, fun, and educational tour. Hate to even give this tour 1 star, it's a full on disgrace due to customer service. read more

Decided to take a ghost tour one of the evenings that we were in town. Arthur was our tour guide and he was amazing. From the scary music being played on the trolley to telling our group all the ghost stories was an awesome experience. I highly recommend. We did have to walk a hill to get to the first Cementary and walked around the park at night. A lot of history and the gas lit lamp added even more to the whole ambiance. What I loved more is being able to walk around and take pictures. We walked two cementaries and I saw more orbs in the first one being the oldest in town. I laughed I was spooked and best of all I was entertained. These are stories that will stay with you! The gentleman that was narrating the tour was very talented, he was from Ireland. My hubby and I had a ball, we had been enjoying spirits most of the evening.the young lady who walked us around the grave yard was great as well! I highly recommend! Great tour. This is a tour and a show. The trolley is decked out nice and spooky and the guides are in full character costume and makeup. Our guides were super entertaining, funny, well informed, and looked great in character. To boot, $5 from each ticket is donated to keep those very cemetaries you visit well maintained. I learned, I laughed, I got spooked! Alright, I'm not a big scary/horror fan BUT I do like my history and I'm down for an occasional spook. This tour gave me just that. On the tour bus ride, our tour guide Betty, sick & twisted in all the best ways, would tell us ghost stories amongst the area of Boston, on our way to famous cemeteries in the city. When we got to the cemeteries we learned about the true dark humor of Boston, and the graves upon graves of mystery and chilling stories. Betty, our head tour guide and her pirate friend (omg I forgot her name but she was SO ANIMATED and cool) were equally theatrical, hysterical, creepy, and knowledgeable the whole tour. I actually remember a lot of the stories because they were told so well. As a resident scary cat but also kinda into spooky stuff, totally a great tour. Despite the absolutely bitter cold of the weekend I was up here this tour was a LOVELY time! Our tour guide was entertaining and had the entire trolley laughing the entire way and every guide and member of the group we met along the way were spectacular, engaging, and made the trip a BLAST! It was also incredible hearing about the history of Boston's bodies and seeing the graves of Samuel Adams, John Hancock, and Paul Revere! So the tour guide Letty, who led us through the graveyard, legitimately changed my life. She was so funny that I laughed so hard that tears came out of my eyes. I actually don't know if I've ever laughed that hard in my life before. My favorite part was how she started off with both a german and russian accent but ended American (diversity is awesome). I really wish I could do somewhere between a 3 and 4. This was an enjoyable tour, however it was a bit more walking than I expected. I was expecting more of a trolley ride, however due to some road closures, it was nearly entirely walking. We only took the trolley to the start and end point. This would normally be fine for me, had I expected it, but we did not learn about this until the tour started. One woman in the group was wearing heels and had to take them off and borrow her boyfriends shoes, who then walked in his socks the entire time. You see a few historic areas - Franklin grave, Paul revere grave, haunted Omni hotel. However, not a ton of stops compared to the amount of walking. About 50% of our tour left after the very first stop, I can't speak to whether that was due to quality or due to their hotels being closer, but it was something I noticed. The tour hosts were great and added a good level of comedy and commentary. Be warned that the jokes are very scripted, but the cast does an incredible job on execution. They really go all in. I think this is a great tour to hop on, as long as you are looking for something light hearted and are open to a good amount of walking. I would not suggest this for people who have conditions that limit the amount of walking they can do. read more

This tour was a highlight of our trip to Boston! The guides are amazing, the stories are based in fact (or at least historical lore), and you get to see a lot great sights around the city. The tour allows you to go into locked burying grounds after hours so you can avoid the big crowds that usually pack the narrow walkways. There's no paranormal nonsense so if you're looking for orbs, this is not the tour for you. But if you like fun stories about mysteries and mayhem mixed with a lot of interesting history, do yourself a favor and buy a ticket! Bernard was awesome. read more

About two hours for this tour that started at 9pm and took us to two of Boston's older graveyards after their usual closing time. I would definitely recommend the later tour as it's darker and the graveyards are a little spookier. At departure time, it was just around sunset and that made it ideal. An interesting and a little campy tour of some of Boston's finer spooky spots. The tour guides and the driver are all "in costume" and they did a good job of telling the stories of the deeper and murkier side of the city. It was really interesting seeing the graveyard after dark. (Oh, and that weird caged thing in King's Chapel? It's a ventilation shaft for the Green Line. If it's quiet, you can hear the train make the corner into Government Center.) Our trolley was completely sold out. You'll want to buy your tickets at least a couple of hours in advance. read more
