He did a great job of humanizing the people he was telling us about so that the history felt alive, which was a perfect compliment to the ghostly stories he shared. It was a waking tour which is fine but only about 5 places were stopped and talked about. I was hoping for more. The thing I found bothersome was that she randomly told a story about a person in her neighborhood who set their baby down in the car seat on the driveway behind the car and then got in the car themselves... We enjoyed that this was more of a history tour than a ghost tour, although Bobby pointed out a few of the major "haunted" spots in town and explained their back story. We went in February and it was cold and snowy. We enjoyed braving the elements and it also means there are very few tourists around. I went on the antivalentine tour bus in February and i was surprised that the trolley was very warm and had all windows up so was comfy! Talk about the cherry on top of our day in Salem! Elaina was an amazing tour guide, very funny, dry humor and super sarcastic! Her story telling was great and I loved learning more of the history and the possibility of catching a ghost on camera. One recommendation is to get their EARLY. If you go in October get there at least 30 minutes before your tour and any other time during the year I'd try and get there 20 minutes before. We did start our tour early which was fine but a few people were not happy... HOWEVER, Elaina turned it around real quick and everyone was spooked, laughing and interacting by the end! First of all we did enjoy our walking tour of Salem with Penelope. She was both entertaining and knowledgeable. The issue we had was the ticket, we were told if we didn't get them ahead of time they would sell out, so we purchased them for 30 dollars a piece not including taxes and "fees", when we arrived at the pick upspot, they were being sold for 20$ each. That is a crazy difference, when we asked about this they said it was due to online fees... a couple dollars I can understand but over 10$ per ticket was a rip off. My advice is to NOT buy them online. read more

Sebastian was very knowledgeable and told great stories. This tour was a little more ghost-oriented than history-oriented, but I still learned a lot about things that happened during the trials and the people of Salem. I appreciated that he didn't sensationalize the events of the trials and that he centered the accused and their experiences. He took time to answer questions and was interested and welcoming to everyone in the group. We only had one afternoon and evening in Salem and didn't have a chance to go to any of the museums, so I'm glad we were able to take this tour and get some of the history and sense of the old city. read more

My fiancé and I didn't get to experience the tour unfortunately although we paid for it. I'm slightly confused as to why tickets are eligible for sell the night of-if there's a strict policy that if you're late, you will miss the tour and not be eligible for a refund (we saw the policy on the tourist stand upon arrival). We purchased 8pm tickets at 8pm. We came up to the tourist stand close to 8:03pm where there was no staff to be found. We were under the impression that if we were "allowed" to purchase tickets at 8pm when the tour starts that there would be a few minutes to spare- a few literally. We were super disappointed. This was our first time in Salem. I would suggest making it to where tickets CANNOT be purchased online once a tour is started, close to starting etc to prevent this from happening to someone else. read more

We were able to squeeze into this tour last minute and I'm glad we did because it was informative as it was entertaining. However, there are a few things you need to know before going. They have multiple tour guides all focusing on the same locations but with their own flair. For example, our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable, but he did not dwell on the details. Instead, he gave more of a historical overview of each location and later tied it to the supernatural, which was great because I'm more about the history than the supernatural stuff. Other guides that I overheard gave more of a dramatic retelling of certain stories tied to certain locations. So, it's a dice roll for what flavor of tour guide you and your group will receive. You can only purchase tickets online and once you do the email will tell you to meet at 127 Essex Street 30 minutes prior to the tour start time. It is crucial that you do just that because they will start early if most people are present. I highly recommend this tour and I recommend you do it early in your visit so that you and your party can truly appreciate Salem throughout your entire trip. Also, so you can pinpoint what locations you want to revisit prior to leaving. Tours and trolleys are truly the best way to get to know the location you're in, especially in the short amount of time you're there. read more

I do not recommend this place. We booked a tour in Salem after coming specifically to the area after hearing about its uniqueness. We arrived 3 minutes late for the tour and they refused to wait for us. The girl in the shop wouldn't help us figure out where they were. After we begged her, she told us where they were, but when we got there, no one was around. We paid $140 for the tour and no one was willing to help us try to complete it, even though we notified them an hour and a half in advance that we would be delayed (the delay was not our fault, the road was blocked) read more

My wife and I do these tours all over the country & this is the first time we've had this issue. If this is a policy or your company, you should make it known at the time of purchase. This is also the only tour we've ever been on that doesn't actually take you to the place of paranormal activity. Most of the tour was her stopping infront of random buildings and saying "Look across the street at that parking lot, now find the blue dumpster in the back left corner, behind that is a street that leads to a haunted cemetery".... Seriously? And then to ask us to not record, nothing you are showing us is proprietary info or property privately owned by your tour. This was a joke.
