One of if not the best walking tour my husband and I have done. Our guide Jobie(?) was engaging, enthusiastic, clear, and personable. He brought history alive, and he supplemented the witch trials history with some modern day Salem history which we really enjoyed. To top it all off, he was very grateful for our time and attention. I don't think I've seen a speaker show appreciation for their crowd like he did. Tour guide was well organized. Even though we crossed streets, Jobie and another helper made sure we did so safely while also allowing others to access the roads. The tour was not overbooked like some other tours are. This helped us to listen more closely and get close enough to Jobie to ask questions if we wanted to. Price was fair for what we got. 10/10 would recommend to others! read more

I was really worried that this tour with be cheesy (like most of the other Salem attractions), but it was filled with an amazing detailed rendition of the horrific story of the Salem Witch Trials. Our first time in Salem and we decided to do the after dark historical tour with Bewitched tours ($35) per person. Our tour guide was Xera. He was personable and very knowledgeable about all things related to the infamous Salem Witchcraft Trials. Xera did an amazing job explaining the context surrounding the hysterical events occurring in Salem during 1692, and connecting them with trends that we can see in today's world (Witchcraft Trials/Holocaust). Absolutely fantastic tour!! It's no wonder this place has so many amazing reviews and here's another one. Sarah was our tour guide and she was so wonderful - just an absolutely joy to listen to that was entertaining, yet extremely knowledgeable about a very interesting topic. I really can't believe how much she knows - every name, every year, every last fact about each spot and person she tells you about. She's witty so she keeps the tour light even thought it's focused on very dark history. The tour takes two hours and walks you all around town so wear good walking shoes and warm clothing because it was chilly! The tour was about 2 hours long filled with good info and was a very easy walking route. She took us past almost all the historic sites in Salem that you might have on your list. I recommend taking the tour at night (as long as you go back in the day for pictures). Also I recommend talking it on the first night your in town. Bewitched after dark was an awesome tour in Salem and I highly recommend. I believe they provide factual and actual accounts of what happened during the Salem Witch Trials and they give a very meaningful, honest, raw presentation of what truly happened during that time period. They also provide some fun/interesting facts about Salem and it's history, so it's not just the dark facts about the trials. I believe his name was Jobe but he was fantastic, funny and really knowledgeable for only doing the tour 11-12 times!? It was crazy! He did awesome and I'm glad we got him as our tour guide!! He also really cared about the groups safety when walking around Salem since the traffic can be heavy, which I thought was very nice. Highly recommend this tour over any other tour in Salem!! I did a tour on Friday night (10/7) - it was very busy on Essex St. Sarah did a great job leading us around and keeping us together through the crowd. She even had to deal with a few disgruntled locals who were upset over one of our stopping points (Sarah - awesome job getting through the heckles and bad attitudes of a few Karens and Richards). The tour was very informative and interesting. I left knowing more details about the trials, the accused and others involved in the trials. 10/10 experience! Jobi was absolutely fantastic. He knew exactly what he was talking about and told the stories in a way that was easy for us to understand. This was our first trip to Salem from Chicago and we wish we would've taken his tour our first night rather than the last. We learned about so much history and famous landmarks. These stories were very informative and we really took away so much from this experience. I couldn't recommend this place more. Our tour was rained on and he made the best of the situation. From helping us cross the street, to making sure we were out of the way of other tourists, he was very aware of his surroundings and it was very appreciative. When I told my husband I signed up for a tour in Salem, he cringed thinking it was a cheesy "Halloween Effects" tour. It was not that at all, but instead a very informative, interesting tour about the Salem Witch Trials. It included a nice walk around Salem that included our tour guide, Jeff's great story telling and excellent historical knowledge. Jeff also has a good sense of humor and had us laughing out loud a few times. This tour was more historical than a "ghost" tour which I highly preferred. I think we hit the jackpot on having Jeff lead the way with our tour. He's born and raised in Salem and not is extremely knowledgeable about every historical detail, but is obviously passionate about the history of his own backyard. He went above and beyond telling us about the true history of the witch trials, as well as the general history of Salem, and the hardships and lessons the early settlers endured. I have to say that this was the BEST tours I have ever been on. I have visited many historic sites that include tour guides, but I have never met someone who was as knowledgeable, passionate and eager to relay that energy on to their guests as Jeff and Sarah were! I am not a huge fan of ghost tours, so I was delighted to find this group. Jeff composed a tour around Salem based on the history of the city, rather than looking for ghosts.
