I had the wurst teller and substituted the side of fried potatoes for a side of the cucumber salad. The sausages were very good, and the portion of sauerkraut was generous. The food and beer here are great, as are the ambiance and service!

Small Bavarian flags are strung everywhere making it always ready for Oktoberfest, regardless of the time of year. The service was very good and friendly, offering to answer any questions. In our case, we were a 16 year old teen from Germany, and I've lived in Germany for two years. My spouse and I have visited many times. All the service was prompt without being overbearing. The food was good. The schnitzel was very good (pork schnitzel), both with and without the wild mushroom sauce. The potato salad was a little weird but tasty; never had potato salad quite like that in Germany. The spätzle was very tasty, but rather huge chunks. It's normally a lot smaller and more uniform, using a Spätzle-Hobel. This looked more like the dough was broken up by hand. Again, still quite tasty. Wine and beer selection were good, with most things sourced from Germany.

"Roll out those lazy, hazy, crazy days of summer Those days…read moreof soda and pretzels and beer" (Nat King Cole) As of October 2025, there are 243 Philly Pretzel Factory locations across the United States, predominantly in the Mid-Atlantic states of PA, NJ, and NY. I was unfamiliar with the chain, probably because none of those locations are in CT. In fact, the one in Worcester I visited today is 61 miles away, and after checking the website I learned that it's the closest one to me. As you might expect, the Philly Pretzel Factory sells various permutations and variations of the traditional "soft" Philadelphia pretzel. You can buy anywhere from a single pretzel ($1.50) to a 50-count box ($40), plus pretzel dogs, pretzel sausages, pepperoni pretzel melts, and mini pretzel logs (known as Rivets) either plain or with a sprinkle of cinnamon sugar. We ordered a single pretzel and a small cup of Rivets with cinnamon, and our choice of a dip ranging from sweets (Candy Cane, Cookies and Cream, etc.) to savories (cheese, marinara, four mustards). Our cup of Rivets ($5.50) with a Butter Cream dip was fantastic. The thing we both noticed about the pretzels, was they weren't greasy at all, like their shopping mall and highway rest stop competitor's products are. Our server Alex was friendly and engaging and we enjoyed chit-chatting with him. He told us that pretzels can be customized into pretty much any desired shape, so that explained why we saw Christmas wreath and Christmas tree pretzels. PRO TIP If you happen to visit a location in PA, NJ, or DE, make sure you do that during the NFL season on a day the Philadelphia Eagles win their game. That will enable you to take advantage of their "Birds Bogo" offer where you get ten pretzels for the cost of five.

I didn't get swept into the toppings, I just wanted a plain ol' Philly pretzel with lots of salt. It was the right shape, texture, density and taste. It was delicious! If you just ate at one, you already know what you're getting at the other. The pizza here ran a little thinner. Spent more time in the oven. The browning was more even than what we got at the Toboggan. But pick up a slice from either place blindfolded and you wouldn't know which was which. They're calling it South Shore bar pizza here. I'm not sure it earns that. Bar pizza has rules. Ten-inch pan. Cheddar cheese blend. Cracker crust that's crunchy and sturdy when you pick it up. Laced edges where the sauce and cheese hit the pan and caramelize into something crispy and almost burnt. It's a blue-collar thing born in Brockton dive bars, and the good ones have been using the same blackened pans for 40 years. This had the size right. The edges looked the part. But the crust didn't snap. It wilted. And that's the whole point of the style. Look, none of this means skip this place. It's a brewery that offers pizza. The beverage list itself is worth the trip. Big industrial room, string lights, that warm amber glow you want when you're drinking good beer on a cold night. The people working there were friendly. The customers were even more friendly. Everyone seemed happy to be exactly where they were, which counts for a lot in my book. Go for the beer. Stay for the vibes. The pizza's there if you need it.

Its in a nice little spot, there was plenty of parking and the space is clearly new which you notice in a nice clean newly paved parking lot. I like when I walked in- there is a small entry - you're not thrown into a big space. I wasn't expecting table service at a brewery - even with a full menu - that was a nice surprise. Our server did have a slight lag where we were thinking wheeerrrrrre did he go? But the rest of the night he was on top of things. I ordered poutine and a couple of beers. The poutine was good - I like shoestring fries. But I have one beloved former RI restaurants poutine taking up too big a space in my heart still, and this didn't quite hit that. But it was a good snack. Great serving size. We sat in a small alcove with like 4 - 4 top tables. I dig the decorations. Christmas lights are festive and fun. The bar looked decently busy for a wednesday evening - but the acoustics inside work well and it didn't feel noisy or distracting. I got the Cohesive (American IPA) and def enjoyed it. Balanced, not too hoppy, crisp.

There's bar seating, tables, outdoor space, and even fire pits, and the overall atmosphere is spot on. We didn't love our particular table - we were seated right where people line up to order beer, so it felt like they were basically standing at our table. If I went back, I'd probably ask to sit somewhere else or just grab a seat at the bar. The beer was decent, with about 8-10 varieties on tap. You can tell this is a local favorite. What a great place to meet up and connect with friends! Definitely worth checking out.

I had a hard time choosing between the Pretty In Pink strawberry lager and the Apple Pie Seltzer, but the PIP was actually all out (so sad!!) so I went with the seltzer. It had a strong almost artificial scent, but a much more mild flavor. It wasn't too sweet and had notes of cinnamon - very unique and drinkable, although I don't think I'd need more than one. I was surprised and pleased to see they have a food menu. There's a pretty big parking lot but it's very uneven and filled with pot holes, and people park a little...erm...creatively - you've been warned. On weekends I've seen the main and overflow lot fill up, and I couldn't even find street parking, so had to go elsewhere - plan accordingly. The tap room is big and has nice bathrooms that are always clean. The main seating option are long picnic table benches - my back personally cannot do a backless seat for more than an hour without being in pain, so take that into consideration. It's also kind of awkward to swing your legs into the seat every time you have to get up, especially if it's full and you're in the middle. I'd love this place so much more if it just got normal tables and individual chairs with backs! My favorite thing about this brewery is that it is dog friendly and there are usually multiple gorgeous furry faces here to oggle over.
