I happened to see the review below where Norman, a "customer", did not like the "tone" of Warren,…read morethe owner of West Loudoun Repair. I felt compelled to correct the record by sharing my experience with this same individual and business. After 24 years in retail, I learned a long time ago you can't please everyone; especially in today's privileged, whiney world. Having said that, let me tell you a little bit about the Warren I know.
Warren first worked on my car many years ago when he was the lead mechanic at a franchised dealer. He was the tech that all the other techs would go to when they couldn't figure something out.
After fixing a few tricky problems on my own cars, one of which no one else could, I asked if he would be willing to work on my race car. He agreed, and this is where I learned how talented a mechanic he truly was. He kept my car competitive on a shoe string budget. There were countless times when he couldn't get a part before the race. Most mechanics would be stuck, but not Warren. He would just fix the part. This man has the ability to fabricate, re-wire, and re-purpose like few others. He must have rebuilt my starter a dozen times which would fail from the high heat of the engine bay due to the rigors of racing. He finally fabricated a heat shield with a directed air flow, and I never burned up a starter again. Very impressive stuff.
When Warren decided to open up his own shop, he was immediately busy with work from years of taking good care of customers. Most of his customers are loyal followers who respect his honesty, integrity, ability, and direct communication. I definitely fall into this category. I am not comfortable letting anyone else work on my cars. Unlike so many other places where there is a quota to "find" work, whether it's needed or not, Warren is the exact opposite. He is a no BS, straight talking, honest, mechanic. If you have some things that need to be replaced soon, but are not a safety issue, he will tell you. He never pushes anyone to do anything. He just gives you the information and his recommendation. And when he does repair something, it is always at a fair price, usually cheaper than his competitors. Most of his customers don't even bother asking or shopping around. They know Warren will take care of them.
So, if you need a slick service writer to hold your hand as he sells you as much as possible, for as much as possible, in a nice tone, while you eat the free donuts, and drink the free coffee, in some fancy waiting room, Warren at West Loudoun Repair is not your man.
But if you are comfortable dealing with a straight shooter, who doesn't sugar coat, who has years of experience fixing cars right, who doesn't advertise, and doesn't overcharge, then this funky, little, hole in the wall, old school shop, in Round Hill Virginia, is the place to go.
