Not only does Getteck repair computers, but they are also amazing at fixing video game systems - Wii, Xbox360, and PS3. Even better, they come to your hose to pick up your system (which is invaluable to stay/work-at-home parents). Mike Ulloa, the owner, arrived promptly as scheduled at my house to pick up my broken PS3. I wasn't sure what was wrong with it (power supply, yellow light of death, or motherboard!), but Mike assured me that they could fix it, regardless of the issue. He wasn't boasting. Not only did my PS3 come back as good as new, Mike was more than willing to answer my frequent questions and fill me in on how the repair on my PS3 was coming. Having dealt with Sony's PS3 repair service, this was a blessing for me. Mike explained that my system's power supply was okay, and that they needed to re-ball (resolder) the processing chips. However, he called a day later to let me know that the problem was more serious. Still, Mike held to his original estimate for repairing my system, replacing the motherboard and re-balling the processor chips all for $175 (make sure you get the coupon from their website). Even though Getteck does hundreds of repairs, I felt like Mike took a personal interest in my work order. You'll never get that level of customer service from Sony. Took my laptop in to Getteck recently for issues with the screen hinge and power connection. They communicated everything I needed to know and were true to the stated timeframe for the repairs. Also, I felt the cost, even without the Yelp deal, was very reasonable for the job. I called Mike at GetTeck and received great customer service from the start. He said he couldn't give me his full attention and asked to call me back in a few minutes when he was done helping another customer. He called me back within five minutes, listened to my internet connectivity woes, and then scheduled an appointment for that very evening. He charged a little bit more for an evening house call (extra $45), but told me the costs up front. Once he got to our house, Mike methodically assessed the situation and diagnosed the connectivity problem. He then explained our options and was able to fix the connectivity issue with a minimum of equipment. He charges on an hourly basis, but was efficient with his time. Prior to calling Mike, I had spent all day with a Time Warner tech and then on the phone with Time Warner customer service. While they tried to be helpful, they never resolved any of my internet problems. I had to lay out some money to GetTeck, but they resolved the problem and saved me countless hours more with Time Warner. I don't usually complain. I believe that we are all humans and that, as humans we make mistakes. It's just part of the package. But, there comes a time when people should be warned away from a product or service that could be damaging. Here's why: 1. As per some of the previous reviews, Mike was very good on the phone. After the problem was described he suggested it might be my hard drive and quoted me a price. I agreed and brought in the computer. (Wednesday 10am) 2. During the initial conversation he suggested I use Norton Security Antivirus. I specifically told him NOT to put that on my computer. I would find another paid antivirus program (I had been running free AVG). 3. Received a call on Wednesday afternoon from Mike who said that the technician scanned the hard drive and it was fine. AVG had damaged an essential Windows file when it removed a Trojan Horse on Tuesday evening which caused the problem. My computer should be ready by Thursday evening - Friday am at the latest. 4. I called Friday am and Mike said he would call me back when he got in to the shop (10 minutes) and let me know what was happening. He called back and was immediately called away. Said he would call back within 30 minutes. 5. I called 2 hours later and the phone message said that the phone system was not answering phone calls at this time. I drove to the shop (10 minutes from my home) and asked about my system. Mike was there and said that he would stay and get it finished that evening and call me to pick it up. 6. Saturday 11am I called Mike who said he was WAITING FOR ME TO CALL HIM. My computer was finished and I could come in and pick it up. I asked how much and he quoted me 175.00 and BY THE WAY, they installed Norton Antivirus against my wishes. When I said I didn't want it he said they could remove it. At the time the computer was running a scan disc. 7. On Monday morning I realized that Norton had made it impossible for my email client (Outlook) to send emails. All emails were received but none of the business emails sent to my partner were received by him, nor was the announcement I sent on Saturday. 8. I went in to get Norton removed Monday am. I explained to the techs: a. I was very dissatisfied with the service I received b. They installed a program I SPECIFICALLY said not to c. They charged me 175.00 to remove 5 files d. That my computer was running all night Friday evening and I knew that to be true because I could see Skype online e. They said they install Norton consistently but didn't warn me that it would interfere with email sending. The other tech told me that he installed 200 Norton programs and never had that issue. I told him that the work around for that issue was answered by NORTON. At NO TIME were my concerned answered or did they offer to make anything right. I called Mike back about 5 days later when I didn't hear from the owner of the store to address the concerns of a dissatisfied customer. He told me that his techs were upset that I wasn't satisfied but that he wasn't going to call me back. There was nothing he would do to make things right at the time. During the conversation he told me that several of the things I said were incorrect. I asked him to tell me one and he couldn't. There is so much more but not enough room in this review! read more

Took my laptop to GetTeck with the keyboard not working on Saturday morning. I had shut it down with the on/off button instead of the usual method in Windows 8. Mike said he thought he could get in working in a few minutes. He simply removed the battery, waited a couple of minutes, reinserted the battery and brought it up. Keyboard functioned properly. I asked how much I owed him and he said just $5.00 (for his lunch). Quite a deal! If I ever have a problem with my computers, tablets or phones again, I know where I will take them. read more

Took my wife's laptop to Getteck. Fan was not working and hard drive was dying per them. They recommended a SSD drive which is faster and supposed to be more resilient. Work was performed in timeframe promised and the pc works great now, much faster. Hard to judge cost factor as putting $ 375 into a 4 year old laptop may not be the smartest thing we have done. New laptops can be found from $ 375 to $ 800...but then we would need to buy office, etc.........overall satisfied but felt it was a little pricey read more

They fixed my Yoga keyboard a couple years ago fast, so when Win 10 or something totally bricked it and after I tried everything I could come up with to fix it, I gave up and took it to GetTeck. They fixed it! It now runs faster/better than before and I consider their charge for the fix to be extremely reasonable. I highly recommended them. I looked into getting ink for my printer at the "ink it" place on Fields Ertel (in the plaza by HH Gregg). I noticed computers being worked on and inquired, since one of mine wasn't charging. The man there explained that they could fix it for me, so I brought it to him. Long story short, they ended up fixing it three times and the problem kept happening. The last time I took it there, he told me that the mother board had something spilled on it and it was IRREPARABLE. Mind you, I took it in to have the jack fixed. I then took it next door to "U Break It" for a second opinion. Not only was the mother board okay, but the MEMORY WAS MISSING!! I confronted the man next door about it and he said that it wasn't in the computer when I brought it in, which is impossible. Neither Tim nor I opened the computer and this shop is the ONLY place it was opened and worked on. He said he didn't have my memory and wouldn't refund my money. I let them know that next door at u break it and they explained that the Ink it store has no license to be fixing computers and are working illegally out of that store. The company goes under the name of "GetTeck computer services". Please be aware and NEVER take your computer there!!! U break it also informed me that the computer would not boot up even with memory stick added. So now I am out of a computer. BTW, what would you do if this happened to you? read more

Mike is one of the friendliest and most polite guys I've ever met, but I can't recommend the service. My computer stopped, power was on, but not fully booting. I tried a few things with my low tech savvy, but to no avail. I checked out the reviews on many local computer repair shops, and was impressed with GetTeck's customer comments. I have no idea how there are so many positive remarks, because I have had nothing but frustration and a total lack of communication form this company. Mike picked up my computer, and said he'd be calling within a few days to let me know the estimate and what was wrong. I heard nothing for a week, finally called back and got an answering machine. I called again the next day and got Mike, but he said he "didn't have my file" with him, and would call me back. He didn't. I called again the next day, got a machine. The next day I got a call from a woman saying my motherboard was gone and I'd need a new one. We discussed time frame and price, I was told I'd get a new motherboard and would have my computer in 2 days. No call back. This was now nearly 3 weeks after Mike took my computer, and I was getting nowhere, and had no final estimate. I called AGAIN and finally was told he would bring my computer back. I had asked for extra RAM cards, and he forgot all about that, but assured me that he would have "the technician" put it in for me. Mike brought my computer back 3 weeks after taking it, and he did hook it up and it worked He still didn't know if the RAM had been added, but assured me it probably was, then charged me $300 but never gave me an invoice or receipt. I used the computer 5-6 times, and then the boot up problem returned. I called mike, he picked it up, told me he was sure it was a totally different problem this time, but would only charge me if it needed parts. He's had it 2 weeks now and I still don't know what he's done with it. I am beginning to think I've been totally scammed. read more
