I have seen this food truck here for a while so while I was in the area I stopped for lunch. I decided to order something that I usually never order, the tostada along with one taco. The steak taco was two corn tortillas, steak, onions and cilantro. Steak was plentiful and falling out ok, nothing super special. A taco for me is four bites and three of the four bites had chewy gristle in them which is disappointing and a turn off for me. My tostada was Al Pastor and piled high with pork, beans, lettuce, tomato and a pile of cheese. The shells were super crunchy from the fryer and two to hold up to hefty tostada. The tostada was tasty with all the crunchy and soft textures, clearly the winner over the steak taco. I have been to the restaurant and the West Allis truck, the truck about 15 times and I have never had any gristle in my food. The two trucks have different menus and I think the West Allis truck is better.

Their last day is Sept 19th at this location. They are looking for a new location. I hope they find one soon. I usually enjoy a nice cold Mexican beer with my tacos, so that is the only thing I would downgrade them on. But it's a good excuse to try an horchata or other traditional drinks. Management here must be a joke. Tonight went with a party of 4. We were seated and told once the fryer was good to go we'd be given the complimentary chips. Our waitress was also the bartender, so I can understand she was busy before I continue with everything else. We waited for over 30 minutes and still had not gotten chips. All the tables around us had gotten chips. They also received refills of chips. I stopped the other waitress and asked if we would be able to get some chips soon. Our waitress had been bartending and hadn't been by us for a while yet suddenly at that moment she appeared behind me and let me know that they were extremely busy and she had a lot to do and that I needed to be more UNDERSTANDING and had an attitude as she said it. It wasn't said with politeness or with customer service in mind. I wasn't rude to the other waitress. I didn't allude to the fact that it was our waitress's fault or put blame on anyone. I simply asked for chips because we had noticed them coming as refills and we hadn't even gotten our first batch. Our waitress was literally shaking as if she was ready for a fight while she sat her rant at me. I told her the aforementioned and she responded by saying those were the other waitress's tables and not that waitress's problem. SHE was our waitress and SHE was busy. Well, honestly, that's precisely why I asked the other waitress because I doubt running a tray of chips out would have been that big of a hassle for her and if our waitress was so busy that she couldn't run out chips I don't see why she had the time to hop on over to scold me like a child. Pretty sure she could have grabbed the chips and ran them out instead with a simple "Sorry for the wait." But that's alright... Now on to the subject of understanding. What she didn't ask and failed to understand was that there were two diabetics at the table, both of whom take medications. We've been to this establishment multiple times and have ALWAYS had long wait times but, because the food is good, we usually don't mind. Tonight however we just needed some carbs at the table because my sugat was dropping. Shame she didn't bother to be UNDERSTANDING although she was so adamant I should be. Also unrelated to her rudeness but they're always out of everything. Horchata is almost always out. Stuffed Poblanos and Posole were out because they don't get made in the summer apparently. I didn't know and I ordered some tonight. She was snarky about that, too. If your establishment doesn't make it then why is it on the menu? It should at the very least say it's a seasonal item. Don't come at me with that attitude because your establishment lists things they don't make year round. I'm not psychic. Maybe try to be more UNDERSTANDING of that. In short, the place's customer service has been waning. They can barely handle half a house. Then on top of it the bitch was rude. The other waitress for the record ran out half our stuff when it was ready. We made it clear to her that she wasn't our waitress at least when I was scolded by the other one that's what we were told. So she couldn't run out some chips but she could run everything else? Once again, pointless to scold me when you literally had her doing all YOUR work. In the end I didn't even get her name because one of us paid the bill and forgot to grab the copy. Otherwise I would have named her here. But it shouldn't be hard to pinpoint who it was since there were only 2 on duty, and I reiterate, this one was the one bartending. Also she didn't even offer us the end of dinner apple pie shots that were brought to everyone else. She obviously can't stay objective and instead decided to be abrasive. Hopefully this business does the right thing and corrects or gets rid of her rude ass and she learns to be more UNDERSTANDING and gains some humility.

They were the supplier of the Pupusas for the first ever "Pupusa Festival" in Milwaukee at Kochansky's Concertina Bar. They had 3 selections: Frijole (Refried Beans), Queso (Cheese), and Revuelta (Bean, Cheese, and Pork). I remember the first time that I had tried Pupusas for the first time at El Salvador Restaurant. I was hanging out with some friends (some were from El Salvador) after we performed the La Rueda in the parade. They wanted me to try this restaurant since I had never had food from El Salvador. I had the Revuelta, which was filled with beans, queso, and steak and they were so delicious! However, this time at the food truck, the toppings were a bit different. The Cabbage and Salsa had some kick to it and were marinated in some kind of liquid. I'm not sure what it was, but I definitely enjoyed this difference. They had some Specialty Pupusas, but they didn't get around to making them because the crowd was very large and they wanted to supply the regular Pupusas first before selling the Specialty ones. This isn't your average taco cart. There are tacos AND quesadillas AND tortas AND huaraches (which are my fav). There are FRESH tortillas. The masa is made each morning and packed into pails. When you order the masa is dished into a tortilla press and then grilled and ready to fill. There are huaraches - a large oval shaped flatbread stuffed with refried beans, grilled in front of you and topped with your choices! There are nearly a half dozen meats - chicken in red chili sauce so tender and flavorful it tastes like its been slow cooked for hours), steak, carnitas, shredded beef and tongue. There are vegan options - mushrooms, poblano peppers, nopales (cactus leaves) and huitlacoche; the inky mushrooms that grow on corn which are called pumpkin blossoms. There are choices in toppings - Mexican style with onion and cilantro and American style with tomatoes, lettuce and cheese. Fresh crema is also available. There are two sauces - green jalapeno sauce which is mild and packed with layers of flavor and red chili arbol which is hot. And there is friendly service (bonus points if you pull out some high school Spanish) and great, great prices. All of this in the tiny little food cart/tent (see photos) makes it worthwhile for you to go check it out. I bet once you do you'll be back for more! Note; Hours may run longer than those posted, especially on summer weekends. Their season also runs longer that most food carts and trucks. They said if it's about 45 degrees they try to open as much as possible.
