Pay close attention to the prices of what your buying. The scheming thieves that work the registers will pull every price right out of their ass even if the price is on the product, and will charge you double, triple price or more if they can get away with it. The only time you should order pizza from this place is if you're wasted, you call ahead to have them make you one fresh, and you ask them to cook it extra "well done". The crust is always soggy, if you order slices of pizza under the heat lamps it's guaranteed to be awful, and last time I was here they served me raw chicken tenders. I've been here three times now, specifically for their shawarma, since they opened their new grill setup. The first time it was really solid. The ingredients were fresh and the meat was quality. The second time they were closed (though their hours said they'd be open), and this last time, I ordered a couple sandwiches, some wings, and grabbed some hummus and garlic sauce from their little premade section. This go-around the sandwiches were a little different. The meat wasn't the same and all the veggies were sad and mushy. The wings were OK but they don't provide or offer any sauce with them. The hummus was OK too, but they make you pay for pita ala carte by the piece. It seems like they should just throw that in, or raise the price and then throw them in? The garlic sauce was kind of chunky this time too. It was like night and day from the first time we ordered. I also don't love their order process. It's not like Mr. Kabob where you tell them what you want and they make it. Here you get to choose from a table of toppings, which is fine, but none of them are marked and it seems like the cook(s) can never hear/understand me, and I can never hear/understand them, from behind the glass. So the whole process is kind of awkward. Maybe a checklist order form would work a little better? read more

The Get & Go used to be one of the most disgusting, trashiest places in town - but they've always had a great beer selection. They are now under new ownership and have really cleaned up the place, and still retained their excellent beer selection. They have tons of microbrews - if you're looking to try out a new beer, Get & Go is your place. They also have BREAKFAST PIZZA. Pizza with eggs & sausage & BACON & stuff. It's awesome. A few weeks ago I woke up and my gummi bear obsession was gone. I had been eating about two packs a day all summer long. But now when I look at them I feel nothing. Our love affair is over. My new infatuation is with Now and Laters. They kick gummi bears in their gummi groins. And they come in so many flavors! And most of them are delicious except for the lime ones which taste like clay. Get and Go has more flavors on sale than anywhere else I've found. My only complaint is that they cost ten cents more a pack at Get and Go than at the gas station at Nine mile and 75. I've been on this kick for a few weeks and I have yet to pull out a filling. I was quite surprised to see they had quite a selection of hot pizza and food still available at 9pm. The beer selection was good, and the store seemed clean. I stopped by to pick up some beer on the way to a friend's house and everything seemed smooth. Got to my friends house and the 6 pack of beer I found was expired by 7 months after i took a sip and realized it was very flat. Drove back within 20 minutes of my initial purchase to exchange for another beer with my receipt and they refused, telling me i would have to talk to management tomorrow morning after even showing them the clearly labeled expiration date on the bottle. This was my only experience here, but I felt cheated and disrespected over a product they should not have had on the shelf. I grew up in the service industry, and worked many years in the service industry and have a very high tolerance, but this was just absolutely terrible service and I am never coming back. read more

Large pizza is way better than a hot N ready for almost the same price. I would call yours in ahead of time rather than risk getting something out of the window. I used to go to this place several times a week as it is the closest to me. The last time, I attempted to pay for my purchase with cash. I handed the cashier a ten dollar bill, and he immediately said the bill was counterfeit!!! What? The man behind me in line (yes, several people got to witness this humiliation) said he was a cop and asked to view the bill. After careful examination, he said that it may have washed, but was certainly real. Not good enough. Like an idiot, I pulled out my credit card. Wish I had just walked out... Best store around. They have everything. The owners are really nice people. The morning cook should be working at a fancy restaurant. The middle eastern food is crazy good. Especially the shwarmas. I do suggest asking when anything that you want under the heatlamps was made because heat lamps take away from what the food could be ( common knowledge). I suggest ordering fresh anyway. I would've given it 5 stars but I took one away for the rude people that work after 10pm. They suck so I only go there during the day. When I last visited I was happy to see that they introduced more fresh food! Not just the slices etc. that I grew up with many years ago. I ordered the chicken cream chop with the white beans. Extremely rude employees, pretty much all of the pre-packaged food is stale and the made to order food is both never made as ordered , nor does it taste anywhere near good. Pizza always undercooked and tastes of the cardboard boxes they put them in, calzones come cold in the middle and taste of frostbite, salads are limp and very skimped on dressing. The Get & Go is a go-to stop for us for two things: 1. Beer that is better than Bud, Miller or Labatt. 2. Pizza. When we throw shindigs at our house, especially Beer Olympics, there is often a need for pizza late at night to soak up the beverages lingering in ones stomach. This review is for their delicious pizza. I've picked out slices from the display and have also ordered whole pizzas. They are ready fast, loaded with toppings, and inexpensive. I've asked before how late they make pizza and was told ALL NIGHT. Nice! This pizza is ideal for parties or on the way home from the bar. I called in an extra cheese, a meat lovers, and a pepperoni pizza (all larges) and it was under $20. Plus if you get there before 2 you can pick up pizza AND beer before you get to your destination! I only wish they did flavored crusts, but for the price and how well-crafted the pizzas are who cares! Give the Get & Go pizza a shot! read more

I have a investment house that I work on every night after work for 5 weeks now. They always take care of me. I purchased the house in 2003. I hate to read all these comments. When I moved here in 2003 it was a shit joke trashy corner store. We called it smash and grab. A toothless wonder ran the register. It was sold years back, new people cleaned it up a lot. New facade new open office space. I think they have done a good job. Also just ask what's fresh. If your there late night. Don't trust the guy that says "my brotha it's fresh". Shorter guy is honest. Hit and miss. Old owner was Gordy. They had a really good pizza even with the toothless wonder working the register. She was cool and always so nice too. Had franks red hot. Always Ready. One of the best things about living in Ferndale is the Get N Go. Pizza 24 hours a day should be mandatory for every city. Place was a dump for years but since it got taken over back in 07 they have been on the "up". Pizza is decent and totally worth the 6 bucks for a large one topping. And they have a milkshake machine. My "medication" sometimes causes dry mouth and a milkshake usually clears it up. Decent milkshake for 2.50.Try the chicken and ranch slices if you can get them while they are fresh, but only if they are fresh. All in all get n go gotchu. read more

You'd never expect this inconspicuous store to have such a unique selection of sandwiches, salads, hot foods, and desserts! The staff is always friendly. This store is on the corner of my street so by default I shop here all the time. Not to say I don't like the store and its staff because I do. What I don't like is how expensive it is and the hot food is not always fresh. The store is always clean and the owner is really nice and helpful. They have a menu that you can order from and they make it fresh to order. I recommend doing that if you want hot food but they have pre-made subs and other stuff that is usually good. read more

I have lived right behind the Get and Go for a few years and it has been the place I frequented for quick stops for pop, beer, chips, etc. My issue with them is that on several occasions now they have "accidently" overcharged me for items I was buying even though they clearly could see the price tags that they mark on almost everything in the store. I've called them out on it a few times and they've acted like it was no big deal, however, they know me, and this has happened on several occasions now, with one time the worker getting snarky when I explained they had charged me an extra 50 cents per ice cream sandwich. I know it sounds trivial, however it is very frustrated to be put in that situation on several occasions where you have to make the decision to call them out for about 20-50 cents per item making you feel like some kind of cheap skate. Because of this, I will now find another local store that requires driving; I'm tired of being made uncomfortable. I have a strange feeling that with this posting other people will now come out saying the same thing; people who were weirded out by it as well and not sure if they should do something. I really don't think it is hard to actually read the price tag on an item and ring it up accordingly. This kind of over charging is something that I don't see at other stores I go to. The lady that is always working is very rude. I spent on average $200-$300/month on random things there because it's on my way home but since I never get a single "hello" or "he" and i get yelled at by the lady behind the counter because the credit card machine doesn't work.....I not go across the street to paradise liquor.
