DO NOT GET YOUR WEDDING DRESS ALTERATIONS DONE HERE!! So, story time - November of 2024 I go bridal dress shopping. I want a dress with flutter sleeves - just light, fluttering sleeves. None of the dresses here have them, BUT the sales lady says they can easily add them. She brings out a FULL HANGER of little sleeve attachments that are perfect - see the photo below from when I picked my dress? See the little sleeve attachment? PERFECT! The WOMAN FROM THE ALTERATIONS DEPARTMENT comes over and confirms yes, this is an easy change. They tell me to come back three months before my wedding for alterations appointment, I am type A so I come four months before. Right away, red flags. I tell the alterations woman I want fluttering sleeves - she has NO IDEA what I am talking about. They pull in the main women who I talked to last November. NO IDEA what I am talking about. I show her these photos. NOT A CLUE. But they said they can figure it out, okay. Estimating for alterations is $1,600 (when I bought the dress the SAME WOMAN estimated $400, so they will LIE TO YOU to make a sale DO NOT TAKE THIER WORD). So I pay $800 today. The woman charges $8,000 to my card BECAUSE SHE CAN'T COUNT ZEROS I GUESS. It's not that hard, I don't care who is in charge but they need to be able to COUNT?!?!?! What the heck?? I'm supposed to come back in a month. They call me that it won't be done in time. I come back in 6 weeks. The sleeves are AWFUL. THEY ARE TIGHT, COMPRESSING, NO FLUTTER. It's not that hard guys. YOU SHOWED ME OPTIONS AND SAID IT WOULD BE EASY I AM NOT ASKING FOR THE IMPOSSIBLE. I once again explain what I am looking for, the head alterations women is pulled back in because the seamstress cannot understand me. The head alterations woman assures me it will be done in time. I come back in for my final fitting TWO WEEKS BEFORE MY WEDDING DAY and the sleeves are somehow, WORSE. TIGHTER. The cups they added to my corset (which I did not ask for) are pushing my chest up to an impossible level. I START CRYING IN MY DRESS BECAUSE OF HOW AWFUL IT LOOKS. They're all confused, asking what I mean by 'flutter sleeve' I MEAN THE THING YOU PULLED OUT AT THE SALES MEETING AND CONVINCED ME WOULD BE EASY TO DO. I AM NOT A SEAMSTRESS, YOU ARE, AND YOU SAID IT WOULD BE EASY. Anyway, HUGE shoutout to David's Bridal in Pinole because I left Gesinee's in TEARS and drove to David's Bridal. I rush in and say "I need a wedding dress and I'm getting married in TWO WEEKS". In for a fitting, I try on every off the rack dress they have, find a beauty but it's too small. They put a rush on a corset back and a bustle. Then my mom and I sit down and ADD THE FLUTTER SLEEVES OURSELVES. Turns out, it wasn't that hard - cut some tulle in a half oval, apply some appliqués, sew it on. WHY WAS THAT SO HARD?!?! Anyway, I had a beautiful wedding and am now married to the love of my life, and I loved the way the final sleeves and dress looked in the pictures (see the final photo). But all in all, DO NOT GO HERE AT ALL COSTS. If you want to buy a dress and take it somewhere else, that's fine, the front desk people are very nice. BUT THE ALTERATIONS PEOPLE ARE USELESS AND WILL LIE TO YOU TO MAKE A SALE. THEY RUINED MY ENTIRE DRESS EXPERIENCE. THIS WAS A NIGHTMARE TO DEAL WITH THE MONTHS BEFORE MY WEDDING. I can't remember the alterations women's name but she has blond hair and will LIE and not LISTEN TO YOU AT ALL. Look at that first photo, the sales woman brought out a hanger with at least 15 DIFFERENT TYPES OF FLUTTER SLEEVES to attach. The dress was ALMOST PERFECT when I bought it. I go in for my appointment? They don't know what the heck I'm talking about. The alterations department RUINED IT. I spent over $2,000 on a dress so that they could slash it to pieces. WORST EXPERIENCE OF MY WEDDING. THEY WILL LIE ABOUT THE PRICE. THEY WILL LIE ABOUT WHAT THEY CAN DO. THEY CANNOT COUNT ZEROS. THEY WILL NOT MEET DEADLINES. I actually had a wonderful experience here. Ajeray was very friendly and helpful. And I found a beautiful dress at a deep discount that had been ordered and then cancelled. I also found a beautiful, beaded, fingertip veil at full price. I would have given them a 5-star review, but for one thing. I had an appointment that same day at another bridal store, so I did not immediately buy the dress. Ajeray gave me a card that said if I came back and bought it by 7pm, I would not have to pay any sales tax. But when I came back at 5pm, they did not honor that promise. A few weeks later, when I picked up my veil, I brought it up again and asked the owner/manager why. She said it was because it had already been discounted. But that was the price it had on the rack. They had taken no additional discount to honor Ajeray's promise. So even though I had a great appointment and liked Ajeray very much, I'm not sure if I would go back here again. read more

Amazing and friendliest service! The lady who helped us is named Dylan. She's very sweet and knowledgeable about the dresses. Our bride-to-be had the opportunity to try on a bunch of dresses that were unbelievably under her budget and still looked very beautiful! Dylan told her to rate each dress so that she could narrow down which one she loved the best, and our bride-to-be eventually came to realize her top favorite dress, and said Yes to the Dress! Although there were a lot of options, the process of finding the right one felt easy with the right guidance, especially from Dylan. We can't thank her enough for her guidance. Side note: I really loved how they take care of their dresses. They have them all in a protective bag, unlike other places, they leave the dresses hanging out. First time going to a prom dress specific store (and last as youngest daughter attending her last prom as a senior) and we had the most AMAZING experience. The prom dress shop easily set up for clients in color arrangements and the clients get to peruse and choose what they want to try on. Our personal attendant was OLIVIA, and she was amazing. Based on what my daughter was trying to on, she actually brought her others she might like. Olivia listened to what my daughter liked and didn't, and was confident enough to bring her other styles, in different colors than what my daughter thought she wanted. Olivia has a talent. Brides! THERE ARE OTHER STORES OUT THERE BETTER THAN THIS!! Had an appointment on the weekend, got there on time for check in and everything no one was ready for me. Me and my bridal party waited 45 minutes and it wasn't until we said we were going to go they got a stylist for us - she apologized, told me she was on lunch and wasn't aware she had an appointment. This really set the tone for the appointment. Dresses were ripped and torn but somehow still available to try one AND the place was FILTHY! like I said ladies, there is better places the this. My MOH actively saw a bees nest inside the store, bees on the windows, AND in the bridal "suite" dead bugs all around where your party sits!!! I'm not kidding I don't ever see myself recommending this place or ever going back here it gives extremely dated, cash grab, and so poorly ran. Instead of a straightforward apology and refund, staff offered a repair, then claimed they could only issue store credit because "all sales are final" and their register has "no refund button." Even my polite request to record the discussion for clarity was refused. What really troubles me is the mismatch between the store's published "passion for customer service" and what happens in person. Their online policy brags about timely communication and "full return and credit" if the wrong style, color, or size is shipped--but says nothing about obvious defects discovered at pickup. Teresa is like a fairy godmother! The service at Gesinee's is unmatched. Gesinee's was the 3rd bridal shop I visited and while the others were lovely as well, the selection at Gesinee's is MASSIVE. It was like walking through a wedding dress warehouse. Unlike some of the other shops I visited, there was no strict limit on how many dresses I could try on. It was simply a matter of how many I could try during my appointment slot. During my first appointment, I zipped around the shop pulled dresses of various styles and then Teresa and I worked like a well-oiled machine hopping in and out of dresses for about an hour or so. In total we tried on about 12 dresses. And throughout that she was great at asking me what I did and didn't like, suggesting dresses that I might like, and no nonsense putting aside ones that were no's. We ended up with a few frontrunners, so I set up a second appointment to bring in friends. Even though my next appointment was already set, they called me a week before to tell me that the designer of one of the dressed I liked just announced they would be raising prices (10-15% hike) in a week and no pressure but if I wanted to reschedule sooner they could do that. Fortunately most of my friends were free for a sooner appointment so we did that. I really appreciated them making a point to reach out and be transparent with me about the price increase, but without pressuring me to have to change my appointment if I couldn't. For my second appointment I also emailed Teresa a picture of a dress at another boutique I had liked and explained what I liked (and didn't) about it. She ended up pulling another 4 or 5 dresses inspired by my comments and they were all beautiful and reflected the various comments I had made. She also pointed out different changes we could either request or make to each dress to make them more unique, fit better/more comfortably, etc. I know that a lot of boutiques allow you to make adjustments, but she really suggested some unexpected and surprising ideas that helped to shape my decision tremendously. One of my friends was actually inspired by this experience to try making more personalized modifications to her own dress (bought elsewhere). When talking to Teresa you can tell just how much knowledge and experience she has in this field. I never felt like she was pressuring me towards or away from anything, she never suggested anything out of budget (actually she would brought up some great deals), and she even encouraged me to visit other shops or go back to other boutiques to evaluate how I felt. She made this whole process so much smoother, more fun, and less daunting for me. I really cannot praise Gesinee's and Teresa enough. They told me there was only one left and I should order it or it's going to be gone. I haven't i went shopping for a dress in years, so I felt really out of place. When I was measured by Sara she recommended me to size down in the dress despite her measurements to be larger than the recommended size. I initially went with her recommendation but felt uneasy about it and was able to email to change it right away. First step is to make absolutely sure your measurements will match and don't give your bride the risk of having a dress that is too small. I had to ask if there was any additional fabric to let out the dress if it was too small and I would've been out of luck if the dress indeed was too small. I ordered the dress in October 2021 expecting an April 2022 arrival due to supply delays. No problem as I ordered the dress a year in advance to give myself ample time. I get the dress in April and discover the illusion underneath on the bodice is the WRONG COLOR from the sample. They had mislabeled the sample size and gave some BS about how you have to specify which color you want on the bodice. Don't mislabel the COLOR on your samples, this is so important. I had to reorder the dress and was now told my new arrival date was going to be SEPTEMBER 2022, one month before my wedding. I couldn't believe it and pushed to have the dress arrive a little earlier as alterations take at least a month and my wedding is also not in the area. I was contacted early, in July 2022, saying my dress was here and I was so pleased that the dress had come early. I get there and wait almost half an hour before Sara comes out with the WRONG COLOR DRESS again. Some other BS about how the dress they received was supposed to go to a different store. I am now told that the original shipping date of around Sept 2022 still holds. At this point I am angry but I try to be patient thinking as long as I had the right dress in time for alterations I would be fine and was given a very small discount for my trouble. I FINALLY received the dress on the last day of August and thankfully it was the right color. Things didn't seem amiss until I brought it to alterations at a different shop - now the seamstress points out by holding a mirror at my back that the zipper isn't aligned to my spine and the lace paneling is larger on one side than the other. I was horrified I hadn't noticed this in the store but of course since it was in the back I couldn't tell when I had the gown on in the store. I now have to pay several hundred dollars extra and have only a few weeks to alter the dress due to the continual delays and mistakes on their end. I asked for a refund as everything about this experience has been a total nightmare and they have quoted me their ridiculous policy of no refunds once the dress leaves the store. All this would be understandable had I gotten the right dress at the right time. None of that happened so I am out over a thousand dollars. I was asked to bring the dress back so they could "see the issue" when they are well aware I have less than a month to alter the dress and they have no way to get me a new dress in time anyway. There was no compromise even just to cover the cost of the extra alterations that I need, and basically they are saying it's my problem since I didn't point out the issue when I picked it up. What is even more insulting is that when I tried to tell the manager Sara about these issues, including photos that clearly show the defects in the dress, she was dismissive and claimed there were no issues which is a total lie. Not only did my seamstress point it out but I showed several different people without telling them what was wrong, and all could see that the dress is not centered properly so for her to claim there are no faults in the dress is frankly disrespectful. Shady business to overlook these things knowing it would be difficult for me to see the back of the dress and the issue is not noticeable without actually having the dress on. TLDR; I wasted my time and money driving back and forth so many times, receiving TWO incorrect dresses and even the final dress I received FIVE MONTHS AFTER MY PROMISED DATE wasn't made right, with no compensation for my inconvenience. They may have a large selection but you're better off going to a different shop that will treat you right and give you the right product. read more
