The vehicle buying and trade-in experience at this dealership is awful. First off, the salesman I dealt with had no clue how the car buying process went, and he was constantly having to grab additional help. We dealt with three different salesman and a manager before we finally got a shred of common sense. Once the new vehicle was bought and my old vehicle was traded in, they did not do their due diligence to make sure that the old plate was cancelled, causing me to incur a bill when my old vehicle was towed after the sale. When I contacted Gerry Lane to help alleviate this problem, they were very callous and argumentative, and did nothing to help me with my problems that they in fact caused. Honestly, I didn't want to write it but I have to do my due diligence to the people. Just as many others have said, they are super friendly with you. They'll even approach you once they see you out in the parking lot. Hey! Yo! My name is! Yakkity yak! The friendliness goes away after a while, especially once you begin to have issues with your vehicle and you show up a lot. We've had issues with this car ever since we got it. We never had issues as much, when we had our Nissan. These are some of the oddest people I have ever been around. When I worked in customer service, I spoke to all of the customers, including the ones who I wasn't assisting. I didn't pick and choose who was worthy of being acknowledged. It wouldn't kill y'all to speak to your customers, especially if they're in the waiting area while you guys do your best cardio by walking up and down, in and out of the building. They do more working by walking around and goofing off, than they'll do on your vehicle. They'll keep your vehicle, for days, weeks and probably months. They will not contact with any updates. Finally got a call today telling us that the car is ready. Gee after two weeks, ya think? Also, if you are sitting in the waiting room, you'll start getting anonymous spam calls(some claiming they are affiliated with GMC). Better read these reviews before y'all purchase. My experience with Gerry Lane Buick/GMC started out fantastic. I had a new, energetic and patient salesman named Thomas. Who was assisted by Larry a seasoned sales associate. Both went above and beyond to find the GMC Denali truck to check all of my boxes. The financing went smoothly but while the deal was in finalization, the truck was being detailed in the onsite service area. Unfortunately, this is when the nightmare started. I was excited like a kid in the candy store walking out to my truck to drive off GMC style. However, during the walk around inspection, I noticed, circular swirls on the paint and scratches. I was devastated but was assured by management (Jimmy - sales mgr and the Wash rack manager I assume) to bring it back 2 days later to be re-detailed. I guess 2 days later to allow delivery of payment by the lender. I was contacted by Larry to meet him to have the truck detailed by an offsite vendor who inspected the truck and found equivalent damage as well. The professional detailer responded with transparency stating, " I can get the swirls and scratches out temporarily but they may return after about 2-3 washes but I recommend a ceramic coating to mask the blemishes." Upon hearing this from the detailer, I asked Larry to contact Jimmy (Sales Mgr). I spoke with Jimmy and advised him of the recommendation details and then asked if the dealership would cover the expense of $750 for the ceramic coating. Jimmy responded in a bold defiant manner stating he is not familiar with this guys work and would rather have the dealership to do it. Not knowing he was on speaker and the detail guy heard every word which was rudely stated in a biased manner. Then I responded stating, So, you want me to allow Gerry Lane's wash center to touch my truck again, no way! If they could not successfully and satisfactory detail a brand new truck without putting swirls and scratches on it, I am definitely not going to trust them to apply a ceramic coating!" My overall experience was frustrating and I'm not happy about having to come out of my pocket to pay for their mistakes. Purcbhased gmc canyon in march of 2023 only have 6700 miles. Went to get my first oil change that included rotating tires. After waiting one hour and 30 minutes I got my truck back. No rotating of the tires. Seems that since changing oil takes over 90 minutes. Most customers are not likely to return maybe this is the plan they likely came up with to make less free oil changes. The service department should honor what they say and care more about their customers. I took my vehicle in at 7 in the morning for my scheduled appointment with the premise that I would get my vehicle back that day. I gave them the correct phone number to contact me when it was done. I was told it should only take 2-3 hours and that my vehicle would be brought back to me or the shuttle would pick me up as this was my only transportation home from work. I called at 11 and was told that my service advisor was with another customer and that a technician had been assigned to my vehicle, but that it had not been looked at yet. I was told he would call me back. Again I gave them my correct work phone number as i don't keep my personal phone out during the day. The 2nd time I told them this. I called back at 250 and was told my service advisor was at lunch. I left another message. I called back at 345 and finally got my service advisor after I told them this was my 3rd phone call. My service advisor then told me my issue was not covered under warranty and even i paid to replace the part it might not fix the problem. I asked if he could just bring me my vehicle and he said he had no one to do that and the shuttle had quit running for the day even after I told him this was my only transportation. I again asked about what I was told that morning and the fact that I had called 3 times. He said he had called me and when I said i didn't receive any calls, rather than trying to rectify the situation, he said we can check the call log. He had indeed called my cell number once after 315 pm. He didnt care whatsoever that I had given my number to the checkin person and the person answering the phone twice earlier in the day. When I purchased my vehicle at Gerry Lane, it was a very good experience, but today with the lack of fulfilling the promises made and the lack of caring on the part of the service department, I will not be making another purchase here. read more

He was rude and didn't even look at my vehicle to inspect the problem . Just took it to back and the reason I know this is because I walked behind building to make a phone call. I was waiting 2 hours so I told service consultant I would leave vehicle and come another day to pick it up. He stated he didn't know what was going on with my vehicle so another **WOW** factor. if i could leave 0 stars I absolutely would. Awful customer service. I work in customer service so I usually give people the benefit of the doubt because I understand, but they dragged me around for weeks and were completely rude about it. I was told by them 6 months ago that I needed to change my brake pads soon. After trying to make an appt 5 times over the span of 2 weeks and was being told I would be called back and completely wasn't, I brought it in and was told it would be ready by 12 which i confirmed 3 times because I had work and would bring in another day if it would take longer. I had to call them several times to see if my car would be done before work and they kept telling me yes until an hour before I had work they said i'd have to wait till the next day and was rude about it. I went in to pick it up at 11 the next day with still no phone call and they told me my brake pads were completely fine and they must've just "recommended it" 6 months prior when they tried to get me to get them changed that day I just did not have the money. Wasted 2 days of my time, very rude to me about all of it, and completely lied to me that I needed to spend hundreds of dollars to just say never mind 6 months prior. my car was wrecked and the collision had my car for 2 months before I got it back to only see that the paint job wasn't the right color the bumpers back and front was and still is not aligned correctly they make up all kinds of excuses to get out of it and I'm still fighting for them to fix my repairs properly mind you I bring the car to them 2 other times and the problem has yet to be resolved ive reached out to my insurance company along with BBB to file a complaint my next step is hiring a lawyer do not use their collision center for repairs they're horrible unqualified and unprofessional read more

The people there where nice but when I had my gmc envoy xl air compressor about 5 years later when I was fixing my car I figured out someone broke my radiator pipe and cheaply fixed it with a plastic connector and the pipe was still sharp inside so over time the pipe cut the plastic and my car overheated when I was driving to Florida for vaction read more

My 2007 Buick LaCrosse is in the shop at Gerry Lane for the fifth time in the past year for the same problem - overheating! In these five expensive visits, they've replaced the water pump, flushed the coolant system, replaced the radiator and thermostat, heater hoses, and flushed the heater core, replaced the gaskets, and the coolant sensor - along with hoses, nuts, bolts, and more coolant than I could ever imagine! Still overheating AND it's cost me over $2500! Outrageous! Now I'm being told it may be a cracked head which means the car will need a new engine! Seems like they should have figured out the cause of the overheating in Sept 2017, and it would probably have prevented this problem! Non stressful!! It was a great experience. I went to dealership after receiving a private sale offer and researching Team National website for dearlerships and discount for 2017 Yukon. Upon visiting the dealership I was greeted and shown several vehicles per my request. Tristan Spring Reid was very patient, showed me all the options, let me take a test drive and never rushed or pressured me for a sale. After advising I was uncertain about the purchase of SLT and needing time to think, I left feeling good. After a few weeks of thinking I would keep my 2015 Tahoe, I returned to Gerry Lane for one last look; this time I asked about SLE. After some research they were able to find several, I picked the one i liked and I signed papers on Friday, August 18th. I received a call on Saturday to confirm my color, interior color and options; I was advised to expect pickup Tuesday. I received a phone call and text Monday afternoon advising, my Yukon was ready for me. I was excited. My husband arrived first and having not been involved initially, he was greeted and treated professionally and given tour of vehicle, while waiting for me. My Yukon was waiting in designated area and each employee greeted and congratulated me as I arrived. Tristan congratulated me again, gave me a walk through of all services, assisted in setting up all my options and showed me how to find and use the radio, wifi, driver setup,etc. My experience has been hands down great!! Everything about my experience was terrible. The people could not fix my rear-view mirror, I had to come in on multiple days for such a simple task. Also, when my widows were fixed I got a call that it would be about $100 per window to fix the button on each door that controls the window. I declined due to the fact that I knew the child-lock was on so the windows probably worked. When I picked up my car, I turned the child-lock off and each window worked just fine. You were going to charge me $200 to fix windows that were not broken. I found the service there to be entirely incompetent. read more

I wish we had read these reviews before purchasing from Gerry Lane. We bought my husbands truck from Gerry Lane Mitsubishi last year. Service during the sale was excellent, but that's the only positive experience we have had. There was a slight miss when we purchased but we were promised it was only spark plugs, and they would fix that. (My husband and I knew it was more than that, but they guaranteed they'd fix whatever the issue was). We brought the truck in for the scheduled repairs (scheduled a week in advance). Only to have them take 3 DAYS to change the spark plugs! Of course it still had the miss when it was returned to us. Reluctantly, we returned it to the dealership to have further repairs done. It was determined the motor needed to be rebuilt. They kept our truck this time for nearly a month! Thankfully, due to our initial agreement, these repairs didn't cost us anything out of pocket, just major inconvenience. Since we got the truck back, we have shied away from using the advertised FREE oil change because we figured that too would be a hassle. Today we decided to give it a shot. My husband and I dropped off his truck for an oil change, tire rotation, and tire patch around 10:00 am to the GMC location. At 12:30, we called to check on it, only to be told it was next in line. At 3:00 pm, called again and we were told it was being pulled in then. At 4:30 pm, called again and I was told they weren't sure but should be by 5:00 pm since the guy working on it got off at that time. Never once did we receive a call from them to notify us of the delay. We received an apology and a promise that this is not typical of their service team, which I know not to be true. This should have been no longer than 1 1/2 to 2 hour job AT THE MOST. We will not purchase another vehicle from any Gerry Lane location, nor will we ever use them for vehicle service again, free or not. read more
