The service tech invited me to take a ride with him, which was perfect - I was able to recreate the noise and we pinpointed the location. His techs got things fixed up. I've never had a shop do this before, and it was just the right way to solve the problem.

We didn't hear from Jaden until late Monday afternoon even after we called the store when it was open. You had to leave a message every time. That should have been a signed. It was the transmission $8K later. We paid them in full on September 2nd. We let them know that we needed the car by September 11 to go back to California. We went to check on the car on Wednesday and they are still working on it. We got a call on September 11 at 4:30 pm they closed at 5:00 pm that the car is ready to pick up. Jaden wasn't there it was the mechanic that said to us the car steering wheel is not straight that it should be ok to drive. He wished he had more time to fix it. Jayden got back a few minutes later with his whole family and told us that the steering is not part of the installation of the new transmission that it's not their problem. We should get it fixed when we get to California. I drove it out of their parking lot and headed to Costco for a gas. It was now 4:59 pm. As I was driving it, it started making the grinding noise like metal to metal and I tried to call them right away and I had to leave a message and they are closed on weekends. Once we got to Costco I asked my husband to drive it and I will drive our son's car.He drove it back to our sons house and around the block to see if it maybe it needs adjusting. It is still making the grinding noise. We had to make a decision not to drive the car back to California that night and leave it with our son to return the car back on Monday. We rented a car to go home to California. My husband called them on Monday and spoke to Jesse, we assume his the owner because he knew exactly what happened. Once a transmission gets installed the repair shop is required to drive the car at least 50 to 70 miles. Even though Jaden said that they would do that after we paid them, that didn't happen. Jesse said they should have never given us the car back. He knew exactly how to fix the car before we the transmission is installed they suppose to put something on the steering wheel to prevent it from moving. If they would have driven the car like they said they would hear the grinding noise, my husband told him that we left the car with our son that he would bring it back that Monday afternoon. Our son got the call on Wednesday that the car is now fix. Our son drove it around and kept it until we can schedule my husband to fly back to pick it up. My husband flew back on September 24 to pick up our car and went to see Jesse and let him know that we will be sending receipts for the rental car, gas and the plane ticket which is the total of $675. Jesse told my husband to email them and he would review. I sent the email with the receipts twice without response. After all the hustle that we had to go through, I will leave it up to the public to decide on how we were treated at this place.

The work was done quickly and for what I thought was a reasonable price. I was already pretty happy with them and then just this week, my son received a follow up card from them, thanking him for bringing the truck in and offering additional services. I know it's part of the marketing, but I appreciate they took the time to do that.

Stating that I'd pick up the vehicle at 5pm. The only time I could get a ride. It was dark when I got the vehicle just as they closed. When I arrived home I discovered that both back doors were disassembled with parts covering the floor (see photos). They were closed for the weekend so I had to rent a vehicle for my family as my van was now only a 2 seater. And I'd be without the vehicle again to get the door reassembled. They reimbursed me $39 for my inconvenience (their stated cost to put the doors back together). Months later I was shown (see photos) that they reversed the wiring for the brake light & turn signal. All this time I had only one brake light and no right turn signal thanks to their 'repair'. Two trips to new mechanic required to get it in working order .

Car-Kare - Key Drop Box

Car-Kare

Very happy with Car-Kare. This is also a revised update to a previous review…read more The quick review is this, the full story is below. The shop does not work on RVs. The space is small and I can understand why, no room. My RV was throwing errors and I was worried I could not make my trip as planned. I could have been turned away and told I would need to go some where else, but the shop went above and beyond to help me out. The end result of the assist was a very appreciated and the original reason I liked this shop in the beginning. Finally and honest mechanic is still true here! Read below for the full encounter and my retraction of my previous bad review that was not warranted. I was packed up and only my way over the pass ready to for a race. Traveling along on and suddenly lost all acceleration power and the dreaded check engine light and maintenance light came on at the same time. I did some quick calling around and got several recommendations to stop by Car Kare. As you will read below I had a bad and great experience here. I gave it a shot on word of mouth recommendation. I showed up with my RV, now they do not normally work on RVs. What I was looking for was a code scan so I could decide on go or no go for the trip. Turns out after reading the code and discussing the results it was 2 small parts that read the air flow and the position of the throttle cable that work together to tell the computer how to act in a given situation. The decision to go was mine after talking it over the pros and cons. Turns out all he said was true and other than a little slower than normal (speed limit was easy) I arrived safe and sound. Parts were ordered and I stoped by on my way home and replaced the parts. Works perfect! Now I am a bit more mechanical inclined than most, but not a true mechanic. The shop owner gave me the very basics and I researched a few how to videos and it really was very simple. Both parts had a special slide lock to keep the wire connector it in place, (the necessary video so I did not destroy the connector) and a total of 4 screws. Plug and play and no problems. THANK YOU AGAIN!! Update on a unfair review; Time for me to eat the humble pie. 4 years ago I was very happy with this shop. They have and still do excellent customer care and ability to to the gob right. 3 years ago I had a bad experience but apparently my bad experience was not a fair review. I had a recent conversation with he individual that finally fixed my car, turns out it was a "needle in a hay stack" find. One bolt only slightly under tight ( a 1/4 turn to proper tension) was the problem. Only reason the individual who fixed it knew what wrong, the mechanic had experienced the same problem on an identical car He owned. So truly unfair on my part.

I hate to write a bad review for a local business, but here we go…read more.... OUR ENGINE WAS OVER-FLOODED WITH 6 QUARTS OF OIL My fiancé and I have been coming here for years without issue. I got my oil changed here in late May. In July, my check engine light came on that I had low oil levels. The crush washer on the drain plug was not replaced and caused an oil leak. Ok. Took it back to them and they addressed the problem and gave me a free car wash since my car was covered in oil. That same day, we noticed my skid plate oil drain cover was broken and flapping off ): For reference, I have had my new 2024 vehicle for 2.5 years and it has less than 20k miles, so it just simply is not being used enough to get this kind of damage. In fact, the last time I got my oil changed they told me the undercarriage was in great condition! After that, we decided to stay away from this establishment. My fiancé took his car in elsewhere to get his oil changed after his last one at Bend Express Lube in May. Turns out.... The engine had SIX EXTRA QUARTS OF OIL IN IT. That's a total of 12.5 quarts when it calls for 7!!!!!!!!!!! They had to vacuum the oil out to determine the total quantity that was overfilled!!!!!!! The vehicle was driven for 5,000 miles like that, on a low mileage truck!!!!!!!!!! I think we would remember if we purchased oil and added it willy nilly to a fairly new vehicle (we didn't do this)! Wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy. I hope my review saves at least one engine.
