I'm really not in the habit of writing bad reviews. I have to say that if I don't have a good…read moreexperience somewhere I'll typically just not write the review at all. If you check my other reviews you'll notice there are hundreds of good reviews and only a sprinkle of bad ones. I feel that every business is entitled to a bad day or a random one off bad experience with a customer, and I'd rather use my yelp platform to help businesses and community succeed. With that said, here was my experience with Modern Electric, and I'll leave it to the clients to decide whether or not to choose them or go a different route. My regular electrician was out of town when an emergency came up at a property I rent out. I contacted Modern Electric about an electric line to a water heater that wasn't working. We noticed that it was actually burned a little and my handyman said that it looked like the circuit wasn't installed right from the beginning and was overloading. They said I would need a professional electrician because we would most likely need to run a new line to get it up to code etc. I will say that the man I spoke to responded quickly and was able to come out almost right away which was very nice, and the reason he is getting 2 stars instead of 1. He didn't inform me of any service fee, but I assumed there would be one anyway and with previous electricians I was prepared to spend between $75 and $100 just for the call itself and then whatever the cost to re-do whatever needed to be re-done. The person I spoke with and texted with did not give me a quote on the service call. In fact, no mention of payment was ever discussed prior to him going to the house. 5 minutes after he got there he texted me that we only needed a new water heater and just the little wire could possibly be replaced if I wanted, but I would need to have the water heater installed first (it's an electric water heater) and then he left. This didn't seem right but i took his word for it anyway and called my plumber. When my plumber got out there to inspect the area for a new heater, he said that we absolutely need a new line because the old one was very clearly on the wrong amps (or whatever it's called) and most likely would need a new line run from the main breaker in order for it to be up to code. He said he obviously can't install an electric water heater without proper electricity, so the line needed to be done first. This is essentially what my handyman said as well, and since Modern didn't seem to know what to do, or was unwilling to do it, I ended up calling another electrician to complete this work. After all this I was still willing to pay for the service call as I believe people should be paid for their time. I was the one who had to reach out to him to have him send me an invoice. He then told me it would be $160. I was STILL willing to pay this, but I thought I'd tell him my feedback instead of writing a bad review about it. I told him that $165 is a lot more than others charge and that he was actually wrong about what needed to happen. He responded with hostility and told me to never contact him again. Please see pictures of his response. Do I think he probably does a good job with simple things like ceiling fans or light fixtures? Sure. But if you have something a little more complex I would caution you to go somewhere else. I will also say here that his service call fee is $160 since it's listed no where online and he doesn't tell you up front how much it will be. He also told me to "keep the money, I don't need it." So he obviously doesn't need any new business and doesn't care to make a new or returning clients out of anyone because he's so very much booked and blessed. Best to go somewhere else where they do need the business, as they might take better care of you.

I did as much of it as I was willing, but I didn't want to run the electrical. I got some quotes for install and permits and Got Power not only got back to me as fast as anyone, but they had a next day appointment for estimate. I've had some electrical work done before and I will say when I got their quote I knew it was extremely reasonable. We scheduled the actual wiring for the next day. The work was done quickly and professionally. Lucas and Jorge came out and made sure everything was done right, done to code and done fast. They pulled the new 240v power cable, installed a disconnect, ran the power to the unit and got it up and running. It only took maybe an hour or so from no wiring to the mini split having a functioning 240v connection on a new breaker. My mini split was sitting unused after I got the easy stuff handled, but now I Got Power!

**Excellent Service from Eco Electric and Joe Vitek!**…read more We've been loyal customers of Eco Electric for several years, and once again, they demonstrated why we continue to trust them with our electrical needs. We recently experienced an electrical issue at my parents' home that left several garage outlets, appliances, and bathroom lights without power. After unsuccessfully troubleshooting the problem ourselves, I contacted Eco Electric over the weekend. Kourtney was extremely helpful and accommodating. She promptly arranged a service appointment for the following day and even graciously waived the dispatch fee in appreciation of our longstanding relationship. Our technician, **Joe Vitek**, arrived as scheduled and did an excellent job diagnosing the problem. What initially appeared to be a defective GFCI outlet turned out to be a loose electrical connection on the incoming power side. Joe's knowledge, professionalism, and attention to detail were evident as he identified the underlying issue rather than simply assuming the outlet needed replacement. It's reassuring to work with a company that values its longtime customers and employs knowledgeable technicians who take pride in their work. **A special thank-you to Joe for his expertise and to Kourtney for her outstanding customer service.** I highly recommend Eco Electric to anyone looking for dependable, professional electrical service in the Las Vegas area. They've certainly earned our continued business! **Five stars, well deserved!**

I checked the normal fixers like GFI's and circuit breakers. I had a hard time finding the main breaker as it was replaced when my dad added solar with the help of a flashlight and the power company I located and reset the main breaker when I turned it back on there was a loud sizzling noise. It didn't sound safe. Based on reviews. I called Eco Electric after hours to evaluate the problem they sent Craig. I didn't know what to expect. I'm always on guard because my mom can't afford to be taken in this bad situation. I was impressed with Craig. He was knowledgeable and professional. He quickly identified the problem he showed and explained that the breaker was moving around. He tried to tighten, but the screws were burnt and stripped he explained they were not tightened properly, which made the electricity arc. He called his office and tried to locate the assembly to secure the breaker due to the age. Parts were not available. We needed a new panel as it was the original over 30 years old. The parts were no longer available and even if they were, we would only be prolonging the inevitable he wrote up an estimate we thought to be fair. He called for an emergency install to the power company and handled all permits and inspections. He then secured the breaker as much as possible, so we had essential power that night and the following day then he came the next morning and he install was complete by 3 PM. The only thing we're waiting on is for the stucco to be replaced which I'm hoping will be soon as some of it is exposed to the elements thank you Craig. I will be using and recommending you for all our future electricity needs. Sincerely, Sandi Sullivan
