It would be awesome if they had some kolaches with just cheese or were sweet, so while I had one with ham and cheese and one with sausage in cheese, she was at least able to enjoy a strawberry and cream danish as well as the always awesome poppyseed kolache. It's possible that a pecan square was purchased for later consumption, too. The self-serve coffee was great and we enjoyed all of this inside at a comfortable table. And after that, more shopping. It might keep me as regular as the unleaded 87 octane. Attached to this Exxon is Slovacek's kolache stop. This gas station has some of the better food in north central Texas. It's a Czech themed gas station inside, with strange Texas merchandise that you just have to see to believe. A stained glass Texas A&M helmet? Yes please! We were 20 minutes out of Waco and it took about 35-40 minutes for our person to show up. I'm not sure how many people actually work here since the person who took my call was also the person to come change our tire. I ended up having to ping him my location since I was having difficulty figuring out where exactly on the highway we were. He worked quickly, was knowledgeable about the situation, and was very friendly the entire time. When we were billed, he said he was an independent contractor so he negotiated the price with us. The total ended up being $75, which I think is pretty reasonable considering how quickly he worked and how much less expensive this was than calling a tow truck.

After a lot bruises, scraped knuckles, some blood, sweat and tears I gave up. I started looking for a mobile mechanic. I was worried about having to wait a week for someone to come out here. That's what happened with the last guy I called to help me in a similar situation. After not showing up, then rescheduling twice he finally got to my house. His own tools actually broke while he was using them and ended up borrowing some of mine. I wasn't looking forward to another experience like that one. And being female, I'm a little leery of letting someone else work on my vehicle. I've had some not so pleasant experiences with men who thought I was clueless. I got tired of the bs stories. I started do my own maintenance and repairs. I haven't paid anyone to do anything to any of my vehicles since 1996. I called a few mobile mechanics on the list before I got to Ryan's name. He's the only one who actually answered the phone. He told me he could be here in 40 minutes. I was ecstatic! He showed up when he said he would be here. He is very friendly, has the tools needed to do the job and gets it done right away. I'm especially happy to report that Ryan didn't try to tell me stories about problems I know I don't have! Six hours after talking to Ryan, I still hadn't heard back from anyone I reached out to before him. I was about to post this review when I got an impersonal text message from one of the other mechanics I reached out to. "I can come tomorrow if you haven't gotten it already." That's it. No name, no "Thank you for contacting me", "I'm sorry I missed your call"... I'm keeping Ryan's name and number in case I need help again. Thank you Ryan!

Beware working with Ryan. He diagnosed a starter replacement on my minivan, and recommended an oil…read morechange. Said he could get the starter the next day. Paid my deposit and never heard from him again. After repeated messages to him, 3 days later he claims to have gotten the starter, but that it was used and he would need to reorder. Proceeds to reorder and then goes silent again. Only after I threatened legal action did I get a response, almost a week after I paid my deposit. After replacing the starter and doing the oil change the car stops working within a day. Towed it to a reputable mechanic who says that Ryan short changed the car 2 quarts of oil, causing irreparable crankshaft and cylinder misfires. Basically, the engine blew because there wasn't oil.

The driver showed up about 1.5 hours or more later than we were told. He didn't even introduce himself & began to get fuel. I finally walked over & asked if he was there to tow me. After fueling, he then disappeared inside to get drinks without even so much as a word. While loading, he complained about how he was "in the process of moving & supposed to have today off". He arrived with a passenger. From the beginning I had requested to ride with him & that was next to impossible in a single cab truck, so I had to ride with my husband, which made him late to work. He sped off with my car & even at 80-85 mph we had trouble catching up. About 1/3 of the way into our trip, he got upset when we asked him to slow down & exited the highway & pulled behind this very sketchy Shell gas station. He then threatened to take my car all the way back to where he picked it up & insisted the police be there before he would unload it at all, making my husband later & later to work. His pants were sagging exposing about 6-8 inches of lovely underwear. I did call the shop to speak with the manager about the issues with the driver & he said if I didn't like it they "should have left me on the side of the road". Later I called to update them as this disaster unfolded & was able to speak with the owner about the situation. He continually interrupted me & complained about things that were not within my control. So unfortunately the problems go all the way up the chain of command here. They clearly don't care about people. Do yourself a favor & avoid this circus. It is far from a business. They are very unprofessional, immature, irresponsible, & reckless. You will be dealing with them all "day and night" trying to get home. I hope someone sees this before making the same mistake I did.
