We use to love this store, but as of today...not going back. The baked goods grow hair after a couple of days and the store has Old Bay hot sauce that is in a Potato salad container. I am wondering who poured it into a plastic container???? This store has had the State Health Department visit three times in one month. Yes, you read that right...the MD State Health Department. The Middle River OWNER stated that to us and everyone we were around. Carl, the owner, at the Middle River store does not care about the customers and basically said as much. He only cares for our money. So, this store lost four customers today, ALL of our friends and family. read more

This is our go to for seafood, deli items, and cakes. We usually order shrimp on the way in and it's steamed at no extra cost while we shop. Though I'm not a fan of any fried chicken, my sons love it and their family meal is reasonable. They also have the best western fries and they are only $1.59 a pound. We have gotten every cake for every occasion there for a decade. We honestly don't do our regular shopping here as it's a little pricey for normal items and they don't double coupons past 50 cents. I also wouldn't recommend coming here at night as the area is rough. read more

Worst customer service department. Friendly employees, but they are always closed. Either they are on break or don't have enough employees to work that department. Also, There prices are ridiculous. Pretty nice lunchmeat though. I spend a lot of Money at that store to because it's right up the street in Sun Valley. read more

Visited today to buy three containers of Maryland crab meat. When I asked for the three containers of Maryland crab meat the guy behind the counter said he'll have to walk it to the register to make sure that I pay for it and that I could do my other shopping and when I'm ready someone will come to register with you and bring the crab meat. I am information technology professional I make over $138,000 per year I have no reason to somehow leave the store with three containers of crab meat this place will never see me or any of my money again! read more

Prices on lunch meats are outrageous. Esskay BBQ loaf went up $2 per pound in the last week! The same thing at BJ's is $5.99 per pound. Geresbeck's wants $10.99! Garlic boloney is $8.39! Someone is trying to put the gouge on people. I won't buy another piece of lunch meat again! read more

Employees are rude and confrontational. Store manager went aggressively nose to nose with a customer over a mask. I can shop other places where the management doesn't start trouble with people trying to spend money in their business read more

I'm not sure if anything is wrong or not but Geresbeck's website causes my antivirus to alarm. I wonder if they were hacked? If anyone from Geresbeck's is reading these you may want to check that out. Otherwise I like shopping here, I don't get to visit often but if I'm on this side of town I'll stop in. read more

The bakery is an absolute 5! Amazing, with their own brand of fudge for donut toppings and brownie icing. Fresh baked bread and eclairs like you've never had. If this were a bakery I'd have no issues going with a 5 star review all the way. The store has decent prices on some things and really overpriced on others, as well as a bit of a limited selection. The reason for that is they're much smaller than larger chain stores and have been in the same location for years and years. What you'll want to keep an eye out for is their sales and pick and choose. Meat is always a great price. The produce section again has enough to get you through, but is hit or miss on product and freshness depending on when you go. The deli has an absolute TON of salads and an average selection of meats. They have the world's best shrimp salad. I wish I could give half stars because the whole experience isn't QUITE a 5, but so close! read more

I've been coming to this store for over a decade now. I love it. The prices are pretty high and the sales suck compared to some other local grocery stores but I come here often. Also, they have one of the best deli sections. read more

Very,clean store.Fresh,& delicious bakery.Friendly,staff..Very crowded on Friday & Sunday.

Bought 4 packs of different meats. Within 2 hours a rancid smell was coming from 1 package(spoiled) in the fridge. By morning 2 other packages were also putting off that same rancid smell, the entire fridge and kitchen were full of rotting meat smell. The only one that hasn't put off the rotting meat smell is the one I froze and I am scared to eat that one. 3 of the 4 packs purchased were rotten. read more

We had to stop shopping here. Way overpriced. Everything seems to be 2-3 more here than other nearby stores. A bottle of kid's electrolyte juice was $6.00 here, Target has it for a for $4.00, Walmart $3.50, Weis $4.50. I do like that they are 24 hours, though. They tend to have a few things here I don't typically see elsewhere but I can't justify paying the prices when I can get my weekly shopping done for much, much cheaper elsewhere. read more

First and last visit. The store is outdated and overpriced. I was in search of a specific item that the manufacturer said was sold here. It was not, so I browsed the store. The prices are comparable (maybe higher) to Giants and Safeway, but very poor quality. The staff seemed unapproachable and not very friendly. I don't think that there are too many grocery stores in the area. Food desert equals subpar quality and high prices. This place reminded me of an old school corner store, just larger. Oh, closed registers were completely blocked, so I'm thinking theft may be an issue. read more

Ordered another cake from here that was a castle cake from cakes.com. Gorgeous again! And the price was perfect!!! read more

Geresbeck's - Grocery Near Me - Middle River, Maryland

I was visiting from out of state when I went into this store for the first time. I ordered a deli salad because I was hungry. I started eating the salad. Someone came out and said I'm sorry I have to be the one to do the dirty work but you are going to pay for that right? You do know you have to pay for it. Of course I do. I'm old enough to know that. I'm also old enough that I have never been asked that question ever! I do understand unfortunately that people will do things like that so I was pleasant however I was still a bit offended. That question was kind of insulting. I'm not saying they were wrong and I was right, I'm just saying they should could use some different verbiage. I can buy anything I want from that store. I don't owe anyone anything. I pay my bills. I pay for what I want. (Ok student loans from earning my college degrees) That's it! So my gripe is their approach. I think some customer service training is needed. I guess in the long run it doesn't matter. During my yearly trips to Maryland I will not go to this store. As for the people who took me there and everyone I shared my story with probably won't go back. I have a huge family. I think a little customer training could go a long way. read more

The steamed shrimp was good, accept for the fact that I ordered 2 lbs of the jumbo shrimp, and when I got to the register, I noticed that I only received 1 lb of steamed shrimp. That was for our dinner that night, and 1 lb wasn't going to cut it. And I wasn't going to stand there and wait another 20 minutes to have the second pound steamed. When I called up to complain about this, I was hung up on twice. After I told them I wouldn't wait 20 minutes while I was in the store, they told me to come back and order the second pound. Why would I do that while I was home already, when I told them I wouldn't wait in the store while I was there. read more

Bought a lb of crab meat and when I open the lid the smell all most made me sick.. This is the second time I had problems with the seafood. Just horrible. read more

the crab truck out front piss me off my boyfriend went and got crabs and they sold him 24 extra large crabs for half a bushel for $220. So I had him call up the store and complain he said the guy told him 30To 34 crabs hard to tell cause of size. Well if that's the case he should have bought two for $180 instead of 1 bushel and 2 crabs for 220 so he ended up spending $40 on two crabs and they don't think that was a problem.ne noticed . He said they were all nice to him but he don't think he got the discount from the crab truck he got the discount from geresbeck's. He also said it felt like he pissed them off is what it sounded like he said they were really nice about it but you can tell when people are irritated. Maybe they should stop ripping people off on bushels and tell them to buy it by the dozen at least let them know if your getting x large bushel you're going to end up with two crabs for $40. Thank you to geresbeck's for fixing the situation because they did. Really nice people he said the crabs are good but it's a little bit ridiculous to pay $40 for two crabs read more

Spend $100 week at nearby Mars. Thought I wanted to check out someplace different. Found prices much much higher at Gershbecks. For instance: 18 frozen pancakes, exact same package, $2.99 at Mars, $3.79 at Gershbecks. Paper products also much higher. Back to Mars I go. By the way, overall, they seem not to want new customers. read more

I came to his store to go shopping for some last minute Thanksgiving needs and i was quite surprised. The prices were on point. The fresh produce was exactly that, FRESH! The meats were beautifully cut and vibrant in color. The Prices though was what i was most impressed with. I found the staff to be extremely nice and caring and helpful! Especially the ladies in the deli and cooked food area! They are just so friendly it amazes me! I have found my new grocery store for life! As long as they are here they have my business! read more

I LOVE going here for two reasons. One, steamed shrimp. They steam and season however many pounds of shrimp you order while you shop. Two, the eclairs are out of this world! Also, the prices on both are very reasonable. This neighborhood grocery store is one of my favorites. I'm a fan. read more

I LOVE their bakery! It is truly the best bakery around. The cakes are amazingly delicious!! I also love this store for the produce and seafood. The steamed shrimp is awesome! The meat selection is always reasonably priced as well. Their selection in the rest of the store is okay, but read more

This store at one time had the best donuts around. Chocolate Marshmallow were the best, plump, overflowing with home made marshmallow. Visited yesterday got six for the three of us and they were inedible. Tasted like biscuit type dough and filled with white paste of some sort. Don't know what you guys did or why, but cheapening them up is not the answer. Prepare them the way they were and raise the price a little. Put them out for the birds, they wouldn't eat them either. read more

I drive 20 miles to come here for their fried chicken and bakery. Both are excellent. I have not really done a lot of shopping in the store other than those departments but it is a smaller neighborhood grocery store. read more

I'm bumping this one up a notch. Their produce section is much better than the other grocery stores in the area. So much better that I'm thinking about buying all the other things at Food Lion and then coming here for produce only. On one end of the store, the produce is awesome, and on the other, the bakery is amazing. But everything in between is lackluster with a poor selection. read more

I've only bought items from the bakery so I can't comment on the rest of the store but so far its FIVE stars!! The eclairs, peach cake, doughnuts, cookies, cannolis...omg! everything is delicious, fresh, and reasonably priced. read more

This bakery is absolutely top notch, from the service to the products, you just cannot find a better bakery in Baltimore. The ladies at the counter are always so kind, and they make my sons bday cake every year, and he LOVES them! I would give them a 6 if I could! read more

My first time there, and while at the deli ordering lunch meat, I decided I wanted a crab cake platter. The rude employee, Eric I believe, said to me "you can't get hot food on food stamps". Don't assume all black people have food stamps. I pay for my food with cash. Maybe you guys need to have training on how to speak to people. Probably won't be going back there ever again. read more

I ordered and was charged for a pound of MD lump crab meat. When I opened the bag containing the crab meat (which was also filled with ice) I found a pound of crab meat from Venezuela. I drove for 20 minutes back to the store (and would have to drive another 20 minutes back home) and explained the situation to the person at the customer service desk. I was told, "Do me a favor and take it back to the seafood counter." I asked if there was some consideration that could be given for my time and inconvenience. The "manager on duty" said that all he could offer was $2 until he could speak with the store manager the next day. I did not receive as much as an apology for this "mistake" which I believe is a way to deceive customers. read more

I go to this store when they have the 10 for sale. Love their meats and specialty seafood selection, like Shrimp cakes. hey will fry them for you. The only think I will not buy is their potatoes in a bag. Got home, most were rotten. Had to throw throw the whole bag away. This happened 2x in a row. read more

I shop there weekly. Great Seafood and Deli. My family and friends love it when I throw a party or gathering. They know where I shop. I'm totally happy that they have Rutter's milk. I would pick up 2 gallons when I'm in York, PA . Was in yesterday and they now have Rutter's Egg Nog. It's the best. Especially with rum. I usually buy 6 1/2 gallons of Egg Nog at a time when in PA. now I can buy it here. If you haven't had it yet try it. It is good. not watery or thick like some others. read more

Was there 11/14/15...in the cold cuts section..watched the deli lady drop the whole thing of pastrami on the floor...then left it..another employee told her she just can't leave it there...then picks it up goes to the sink and rinses it off....that was it myself and the guy who ordered the pastrami said listen i hope your getting a new thing of meat ..why did you wash that off?
