Critical error in judgement on 10-1-2021. This is a copy of the letter I wrote to Gerber's main office describing my experience at their Springfield, Missouri location. I'm writing to you about the experience I had in Springfield Missouri at Gerber Collision and Glass. My trust was shattered by your employee, Jon B. This breach occurred when Jon B. said "your car is ready to be picked up. Other than a couple of warning lights on, it's ready to go." I asked what warning lights and Jon told me, " traction control and tire pressure." I told him there weren't any warning lights on before the accident. He told me, he just assumed there were. He continued by inferring that some people want all the vehicles problems fixed using the insurers money. I told him that he made a critical error in judgement. I continued by saying; that I can assure you this is not the case. He then told me that he could pull up the date and time when the faults occurred...then waited for me to respond. I've been asking myself why. Why would this guy I've never met before assume that I am attempting to commit a crime? Why would he assume I am guilty before innocent? And why would he endanger my daughters safety by allowing a vehicle that was in an accident, to leave Gerber's shop with warning lights on? So I picked up the car and told Jon that I was disappointed in him then left in my daughters car. After driving a few feet it was obvious that something was seriously wrong. I immediately contacted State Farm and was instructed to open up a new claim. But I would have to prove that, any repair after Gerber closed our case was caused by the accident. And if we couldn't then State Farm wouldn't pay. I have yet to write and post my review online. But it will be similar to the content of this note. I wanted someone to know sooner rather than later. As of today 10/11/2021 the car still isn't fixed. Regards, Dave It's now 11/2/2021 and the car still isn't fixed. It thumps when moving and makes strange noises when accelerating or braking. And during start up the front wheels move back and forth. Like they are loose but they're not. I will make a very long story short by saying, Gerber made a critical error in judgement. After going through the process of reopening our claim and hiring a mechanic, they found the motor loose. Apparently when Gerber did or had an alignment done they forgot to tighten the motor mount. So the acceptable noise Jon at Gerber heard was the motor moving up and down each time the vehicle accelerated or braked. The loose motor could cause a variety of warning lights to come on, including traction control! And that's not all Gerber missed. Three of the four new tires had broken belts. So when driving the car the steering wheel trembled back and forth from the vibrations caused by the many flat spots on the tires. And from inside the car you felt the flat spots and heard, thump.. thump, thump, thump. Again Gerber said; come get your car, it runs and drives great. Holy moly, runs and drives great??? I can't imagine how broken a vehicle has to be for them to notice something is wrong. I am reasonable but this critical error in judgement disturbed my peace. Gerber's system failed us on multiple levels. From my experience I would not recommend Gerber to anyone. I am more than disappointed. In the end we couldn't prove that an additional eight-hundred and fifty dollars happened during the accident, so we ate that too. It's like we took our wreck of a car to a wreck of a repair shop. I brought my car in for body repair after I was rear ended by a lady pulling a fifth wheel trailer, I was extremely pleased with the whole process from beginning to the end result they do excellent work ! and the rental car company picked me up from the body shop and Transported me to their office to sign the paperwork when my car was finished I was able to just leave my rental car at the body shop and they took care of getting it back to the rental car company it was such a smooth process. read more

This was the best service I have ever gotten at a car repair place. The inside met all of my COVID expectations (it was clean, everyone was wearing a mask, they sanitized the seats/pens when I stopped using them, they wore gloves when handling my keys, etc.). The person who worked with me, John, was so helpful and kind. The bill ended up being less expensive than the estimate given to me 3 weeks prior. They detailed my car when the work was done, and the work they did (repairing a hole in the door) was excellent. They had to replace the paint on the both doors on the driver's side, but the paint was a perfect match, and there are no other issues. I hope I never have to get repair work done again, but if I do, this is 100% the place I will be going. read more

I've worked with St. Louis Street Auto Body prior to this encounter, hence why I wanted to send my car there again. I was in an accident in which is currently still a problem with insurances (leaving the scene and fraud). The woman in the front was not willing to listen and was very much money oriented. She had no remorse or sympathy towards the situation I was trying to explain that most of this situation was out of my hands. When I went to St. Louis Street Auto Body to retrieve this things from my car so when time came it could be hauled off to be scrapped. She made a point to track me down and state "you can't just leave it here." I told her I understood but I can't move it quite yet until my insurance contacted me about moving it. She repeated herself and if I was incompetent to her statement. It wasn't until my husband told her we understood and we pay the $40 to keep it there, that she left us alone. I have no problem paying for services, what I have a problem with is people thinking I am ignorant to the situation and incompetent to my responsibilities. read more

I too came to St. Louis Street Auto Body because of the reviews I read on Yelp. I went there on my lunch hour to get an estimate for my 2016 Mustang for scratches on my left front bumper. Apparently someone had backed into my car and drove off. I was sick when I noticed it. I was greeted at the front desk and was helped right away.
