Gerber Collision & Glass in Havelock NC I needed minor repair on my vehicle. Cody Knapp wrote up an estimate that was totally over worked. When I made the appointment to have a minor repair done I told Gerber that the unnecessary work - I was not going to have done. Gerber then said; if I don't commit to their totally over worked estimate, they will not do the job. Cody Knapp did not return my request to call me and explain why they were insistent on ripping me & my insurance company off. Do not use this body shop. read more

Service was prompt and efficient. When we arrived with our vehicle we were greeted in a friendly manner and provided clear instructions on how to park, so that, the work could be done. The interior of the station is clean and neat. Everything in its place. It appears a safe place to work - though caution, of course would need to be exercised. There was a difficulty with one of the threaded bolts that had been put in by a past service technician at a different service company. The team at this location worked carefully to free the bolt, make a minor repair and replace with it with a new one. All of this was reported to us prior to any work being done. I especially like the fact that I can get 100% synthetic oil at Valvoline. I prefer it as it retains it properties longer and operates normally at higher and cooler temperatures than other oils in its class. As they say, "Valvoline Full Synthetic motor oil is specially formulated to deliver our best performance and protection to keep you and your engine moving forward." At the conclusion of the service the staff and management were attentive and answered questions and provided expert advice. All in all this was a very rewarding experience. My car needs a new bumper due to hitting a deer. I made an appointment thinking I was good and had canceled at other body shops with their estimates considering this one was closest. I get a call the day off my appointment telling me that their system on their own website doesn't work or has a glitch because it booked it over a preexisting appointment. So get rid of it or fix it? The next appointment wasn't until July 25th.... Please get rid of that appointment system on your website. Oh and then for me to still get a cancellation txt message like seriously? It wasn't canceled if it was apparently never booked? Don't do this to other customers. read more

I was involve in an accident in Florence South Carolina on my way to New Bern North Carolina, I am a resident on St Augustine Florida. I was rear ended with extensive damage to the rear end of my car, I was able to drive my car to New Bern NC and at that point my transmission sensors were damage and the 2021 Honda Passport would no longer drive. I took my car to Gerber in Havelock NC. When I initially spoke to Gerber repair they set the ground rules on how they handle a repair, they said they would text me each week with updates and call each week with info on the repair, They Did, much to me surprise, any questions they had or I had were answered with the calls and the text messages. I have to say I was first impressed and then happy to have chosen them, my repaired were excellent and the customer service was one of the best I have encountered. I can't even begin to say how amazing this shop is. I thought for sure that my brand new Dune Bug was going to be a total loss and they not only fixed her but gave her back to me better than new. They didn't rush anything, went over that car with a fine toothed comb, and kept me updated through all the progress. Wife decided to jackknife the trailer on passenger side then the next day had to match up the driver side. I don't think she's OCD but it was symmetrical. Anyway brought her truck over to fix the tail lights and quaterpanels. They did a good job at replacing parts and matching factory paint in a timely fashion. The only problem is the gas tank cover will not snap because it's tweaked and the hinge was painted as well so it doesn't open and close without more effort than before. Thinking it would get easier with time was not the answer. It is more annoying than I care to describe. I've asked my wife to let them know and see if they could realign it and as far as I know they couldn't/wouldn't. Front staff was very friendly and attentive answering all my questions. read more

I had a wonderful experience with my car repair at Gerber Collision. My car had a lot of damage due to vandalism and I went to get an estimate with them, as my insurance company uses them for estimates. Angel was the one who gave me the estimate. He was very thorough and explained the whole process. I was a little cynical, as I thought that they would try to cut corners with me since they were a preferred repair place. Instead, I found that they went out of their way to make sure my car was properly repaired and went to bat for me with the insurance company. They kept me completely aware of the timeframe and finished exactly when they said they would. Everyone in the office was very professional and helpful too. I don't really write a lot of reviews, but was so impressed with them. read more

My car was in an accident at the beginning of December, and my insurance (USAA) only works with Gerber in my area. I wish they worked with anyone else. My car was supposed to be completed by the 21st at the latest, which would have been perfect because I had a trip planned to be with family for the holidays. They called me over a week before, saying the car was going to be done early. After I got that call, they stopped calling. I had to call in to get status updates, even though they tell you at the beginning of the process they will call you every Tuesday and Thursday. Finally, on the 24th when I was supposed to leave, they said my car was finished. I waited over an hour for them to "just finish vacuuming it out". Once I drove away, I learned very quickly that they had not repaired everything. My car started shaking, the engine began smoking, my temperature gauge came on, and I couldn't drive more than 30 mph. I immediately called them back, since they clearly didn't do the job they were supposed to do. They offered to pay for a rental car so I could still go on my trip, but they stopped paying for the rental car before the trip was over. I called them and specifically confirmed the date my trip would be over, they said it would be fine, and now 3 months later I'm getting calls from Enterprise saying that they have checked with Gerber on several occasions, and Gerber refuses to cover the full time. Very disappointing experience, if I ever need a collision place again I would rather drive further to Jacksonville than have to use this company. read more

My car was hit and brought it to this place. All they did was sand it down and paint right over it. You can still see the sent on my car and the new paint was chipped. When talk to the manager he said this is the best that we can do. Well head up this is a collision place that can not bumper aligned yet alone paint a car even after the second try. Worst service I ever received. read more
