So sorry Cliff's was recommended to us. My husband's Corvette has been back and forth there for 6 weeks. They have messed up everything they touched. My husband usually does work himself, but he thought he would treat himself and not have to crawl under it. They have caused leaks and broken door panel clips. Thank goodness this isn't our main car. They said they would pay for him to take it elsewhere, but then wouldn't. The owner acted so awful. This has also caused such stress in our lives. NEVER do business with Cliff's!!!! read more

I took my corvette in for two issues . They did not repairoil either one. My drivers side window needed the regulator cable replaced. They claimed they knew how to do it. Took the car back four to five times and still not working properly. They also damaged the door panel taking it on and off. They also replaced the radiator and motor oil cooler. The car also is leaking now leaking oil. The car has never leaked any oil until they worked on it. They refused to do anything about. They charged me $1400 for the repair. This has been going on for 3 months. They are the worse company to deal with . No conscious at all. Bee unable to drive my car for three months now. Our Van needed a catalytic converter installed. They said it would be ready the next day, it was not. It set on their lot for 3 days not moved or anything. Claimed they had read codes that it needed a distributor to fix an exhaust (not lying, can't make this mess up). We went to pick it up to take it to another shop, and spent 20 minutes there to jump start it. Not sure how they got codes off of it with a dead battery. Do yourself a favor and stay far far away from these lying crooks. I'll never recommend or do business with them again. read more

The service is always excellent and the staff is very friendly; but, that is not the only reason you should bring your vehicle to Cliffs. Their customer waiting area is spacious, comfortable, and - in my opinion- the best in eastern North Carolina. Cliff bought and converted a car dealership into a magnificent workplace. Becky, his wife, expertly decorated the front showroom into a waiting room using the many antique automotive memorabilia they have collected over the years. The old sales offices are private waiting rooms- if you wish to wait in your own space. There is one room just for children, too! An old fashioned Popcorn machine makes popcorn everyday. Took my car in for an oil change, headlight bulb replacement and safety inspection. Got there first thing in the morning with intentions of dropping it off, because they don't take appointments for oil changes and inspections. They insisted that I stay and wait almost 3 hours when they told me that my headlight issue was an electrical issue and that they couldn't do my safety inspection without a working headlight. Had my headlight bulb replaced today by my brother and everything is working properly! I admit the headlight on my vehicle isn't the typical easy replacement and definitely requires extra work but making up an excuse for not doing the job isn't ok. I feel like the fact that I was a female and have an out of state phone number contributed to this treatment. Talked to customer service on the phone and explained my motor was hydrolocked and rebuilt. Told them everything that I had done to rebuild it, they told me to bring it in. Paid $60 to have it towed there, then they waited for it to be dropped, and without starting it up Or anything told me I would basically need to rebuild it again or buy a new motor for $4500, only to have me wasted another $60 towing it home. Wasted 3 hours and $120 for them to tell me to buy another motor without looking at it or even starting it...... read more

We have been taking our cars to Cliff's since we moved to the area in 97. The work is always done right and I don't feel they charge too much either. The only thing I'd say I'd like to see them do a better job at is actually calling me when the repairs are done instead of waiting for me to call them to check. Happens every single time...we call to check about an hour before they close and the car's always done, but for how long? WHO KNOWS. Extremely minor complaint and based more on my need to be at home and not on the road. Great, convenient location. Polite, knowledgeable staff. They've even towed more than on car there over the years and always with care. We always get the OK from Cliff's before a road trip and while my husband was deployed, Mike took extra good care of my van. It's the ONLY place I'd take a car for repairs! read more

Everyone was friendly and eager to help out. Chuck was at the front both times I went there and he explained everything upfront and gave me the price. I told him what I wanted done and he never tried to influence me for other services. Some auto shops do that. Prices are reasonable as well. The only thing I dislike and it's not negative, is the fact that all services are first come first serve. You can't make an appointment. It's not a problem but I like structure. Either way, I showed up without an appointment and I had 4 tires mounted, balanced and installed with an alignment in about 2 hours. Highly recommended. read more

Traveling to Emerald Isle for a late summer break, our truck started making a high pitched squeal and the ABS light came on. We pulled over, and realized it sounded like the wheel bearings were going bad. We were able to search google and found Cliffs. We had every thought imaginable about being away from home (PA) and being taken advantage of. This DID NOT HAPPEN! Cliff's service was great, we called on Sunday, a real person answered the phone, told us to drop our vehicle off first thing Tuesday morning (Labor Day weekend). The truck was dropped off at Cliffs. Tuesday morning, I made my way to the garage, they had it inside already. Showed me what happened, explained what they could do, and offered additional services. I agreed to the fix. To my surprise 2 hours later, my phone rang...the truck was done! Our vacation was saved! I appreciated the prompt service and the help. I would rate them higher than a 5 if Yelp let me! read more

I live in Morehead City and came all the way here to get a muffler delete. After telling me it would be a few hours, I went back home to run some errands. They called saying it was done so I went back to Cliffs and it wasn't done. After figuring everything out it took 30 minutes to do and I was happy with the work. A few months passes by and i'm still happy with the sound but want a little bit louder. I called at least 3 times to make sure it would be legal and they could do it. They confirmed it could be done so I decided to head there and hope for the best. After driving 30 minutes in hopes of getting it done. What do they tell me? It can't be done and even if it could it's too late in the day and they won't do it. Overall, very poor communication. The work was good but it's a muffler delete can't really go wrong LOL. Can't wrap my head around the fact that they tell me one thing and I get there and get a complete different answer each time and for that I will not be going there again. I build B B Q grills and he has sold me a couple feet of pipe here and there,, I called to day and the lady that answered the phone said they had the pipe but they would sale me the they only installed it .. oh well the last time they sold it to me they charged 30 dollars for a 2 foot piece out of the scrap pile I can only imagine what it would have cost to installe it would of there if it was the last place on the planet read more

While traveling back home to Vermont from Florida my exhaust pipe broke in half. Pulled in to Cliff's at quarter to five and asked if they could look at it. In less then 5 minutes the car was on a lift and the mechanic showed me what they could do. They gave me an estimate and unbelievably in 15 minutes my car was fixed and sitting out front. Couldn't have gotten that kind of service anywhere back home and the price was much lower than I expected. Would recommend Cliff's to anyone and everyone. read more

The worst Tire Service I ever had ! I set an appointment to get 4 new Goodyear tires installed on my car. As I signed in I asked for a front end alignment, the guy behind the counter looked upset and said "did you say that when you set up the appointment?' he shook his head and said "you'll have to come back another day for that". Then when my car was finished, (something told me to check) all four tires were 65 pounds!!!! Normally they should be 32-35 pounds, but 65 pounds? Who does that?? Of course I asked about the high pressure and the mechanic screamed "what!!" Down the road i got my alignment and they said the tire balance performed at Clif's was way way off. Just awful....Avoid. read more

We had a wonderful week at the beach in Emerald Isle but when we packed up to leave for home our Volvo XC90 refused to start. We called for a tow and the driver tried to jump the battery but no luck. On the recommendation of a neighbor we called Cliff's. He was able to squeeze us into his schedule that day. By the time the tow truck reached Cliff's with our car it was 4 o'clock in the afternoon and we knew that the shop closed at 6. We had little hope that they would be able to diagnose the problem and have our car repaired that same day. At 5:45 we received a call from Cliff's and they said that they had found and repaired the problem which was a faulty ignition switch. We were concerned that we couldn't reach them in time to pick up our vehicle before they closed and they assured us that they would remain open and wait for us to arrive. At 6:15 when we arrived to get our car they insisted that we try out the starter several times to ensure that it worked. We were never rushed along or made to feel that were inconveniencing them in any way even though it was well past closing time. After all was said and done the repair cost us under 100 dollars. We can't say enough about the quality of service and the helpful guys at Cliff's. read more

Cliff is my hero! AAA gave me an estimate of $4500 for a new engine when my Toyota broke down near Raleigh. We called him for his opinion, he said he might be able to do better but wanted to tow it 130 miles to his shop. Big decision for a 10 yr. old car. In a few days he had it back on the road for just $1200 including the tow! Toyota engines can't be killed and Cliff is a Rock-Star! read more

SHAME ON YOU CLIFF'S !!! Did some work on our truck, they were recommended by Bogue Auto. Yea they did the so called "brake work". However they didn't take into factor that my husband knows A LOT about working on cars, trucks etc. and usually does his own work. Got the truck home to find out the "new" brake part they were supposed to put on was OLD and USED !!! Yea that is right !!! Husband took it off to do something and found out it was OLD.... yea he called them on it !!! Never again will we use Cliff's NOR will we send anyone to them ! EVER..............
