Spent over 7K and my truck engine is blown up because of Del's negligence…read more Took my husbands truck here to be worked on because it was having engine issues. We ended up needing a new engine. It took over 2 weeks to get the engine in and after the shop finally got the engine, Del then claimed his shop had flooded and our engine was ruined. He then claimed he had found us a better engine than the one we had previously bought, apparently it had less mileage than the one we bought. And he told us it was free of charge. After we got the truck back it wasn't even a month later when the truck popped a new code for the truck running rich. We took it back to Del. He then proceeded to tell my husband that it was the fuel system and that the injectors needed to be replaced. When Del showed him the old injectors he proceeded to say how he glued them back together because they were broken. If they were broken why didn't you show us the broken injectors? Why did you glue them back together? After he replaced the injectors, we had the truck for not even 2 months and the engine blew up. We towed it back to Del, He told my husband that we were out of warranty, saying the warranty was 6 months when he had a previously told us it was a year and refused to fix it. My husband had asked for a refund since he refused to fix the issue when he ignored my husband's worry about the running rich code that caused the engine to blow up. Del proceeded to get irate and cuss out my husband and throw him out of the shop. Del then came outside, when the tow truck was on its way to get the truck, and told my husband he would fix the truck for another $1,200. When the tow truck showed up Del yelled at the tow truck driver saying there was nothing wrong with the truck. Del acted like my husband didn't know what he was talking about with the running rich code. My husband is also mechanic, he is in the military so he didn't have time to fix the engine which is why we brought it to Del in the first place, so he knew what the running rich code could do to the engine. We couldn't work on it ourselves because Del said he would void our warranty if we did. I would not recommend coming here.

On the way to the appt I noticed there was no sound on the radio. I called to see if they could add that to the work order . When I got to the service dept, it was set up well to avoid close contact due to covid-19. I was helped quickly by a very friendly and professional lady. She took my keys and drove it to get the service started. She communicated with me later that the tire did have a nail in it but to let me know that all 4 tires were in the red for tread wear. They had the Michelin tires on hand that I needed. They serviced the truck, got the radio working, changed all the tires, etc.. all in about 4 hours. In addition when I picked up the truck , I couldn't remember how to reset the automatic sideboard feature but the lady called one of the technicians who immediately came out and showed me how to do it and apologized that it hadn't been done for me. Very courteous and professional again. It rides beautifully. I highly recommend Lookout Ford service department.

He is an extremely knowledgeable mechanic and if you find the rare auto/issue that he doesn't know, he will research and give you all the options. He's not pushy, he'll tell you if/when you can safely "let it ride" for a while longer "it's risky to keep going, here's what could or likely will happen and here are your options." I always just ask him "what would you do if it was yours?" and so far his guidance has always been spot on. He generally always has a 5-day wait list, totally worth the wait.
