I put out a feeler for quotes at around 8pm yesterday, but everyone was closed. However, Elias from Ultimate Auto Glass got back to me immediately and asked questions about my windshield. Within 30 minutes, he had a quote for me and booked an appointment for early the next morning. Today, Elias showed up at my townhome with 2 windshields on the chance that my windshield had a heater element. Now that's service if I've ever seen it because my windshield did in fact have the heating element in place. He got to work immediately in the parking garage at my complex and in less than an hour, had the whole project completed. I'm not kidding when I say he deserves 10 stars if yelp would allow it because he is extremely professional, friendly, and a master of the craft. The final product looks amazing and the glass is top quality! Thank you so much for taking the project and completing it in less than a day! 10/10 would recommend this business to anybody needing a windshield!

A scam with endless hidden fees before you arrive. I initially booked a windshield replacement…read morethrough Safelite for my 2021 Lexus NX 300 (base model) and was quoted $472.22. Once the appointment was finalized, the total quietly increased by $39.99 for a recycling fee to dispose of the existing glass, something that should have been disclosed upfront. If you're replacing a windshield, it's obvious there's already one in place, so the lack of transparency here feels deceptive and intentional. To make matters worse, I received a follow-up email claiming I now needed to pay an additional $495 for ADAS recalibration, bringing the new total to $1,045.96. My vehicle does not have windshield-mounted sensors or a front-facing camera, yet they insisted recalibration was mandatory or they wouldn't repair it. I even confirmed with my dealership. This is a classic money grab, adding hidden fees and pushing unnecessary services on customers who may not realize what their vehicle does or doesn't require. I ended up going elsewhere and paid significantly less without the bogus charges. Disappointing experience overall. Safelite should do better by being honest and upfront, not relying on sneaky tactics to inflate costs.

I showed up for my appt and was told that I had the wrong glass. In my opinion, this could have been avoided if they had better customer service and if I would have been able to speak to someone over the phone while scheduling. The employee who told me it was the wrong glass then proceeded to order me another glass and told me to come back today. I came back today for my appt, took off work, and took an uber back home. 30 min later I get a call saying that the glass is still the wrong glass and I have to schedule again. Not only did I waste the morning for a 2nd time and have to arrange early pickup, but the employee who had confirmed my service and who was here this morning was nowhere to be found, so I didn't even receive an apology. I have used Safelite for many years prior to this experience, but after today, I will not be using them in the future.

I knew it was going to keep spreading & wanted to get it repaired. I remember hearing the "Safelite repair, Safelite replace!" commercials so I went online and made a repair appointment for them to come to me on 1/6/26. You can also go to their shop but I didn't want the crack to continue to spread. You can also choose to have the windshield replaced if you're crack is more than 6 inches. When you go through the process, they set it up so you can pay for the appointment in advance - I chose the repair so I paid upfront but you can pay at the appointment. On the day of the appointment, I got an email letting me know who my tech would be which was Corey. He called me on the phone when he was near my residence. He pulled up in a Safelite van. Corey was a young guy. He got out of the car, looked at the windshield and then pulled out a dollar bill and put it against the crack to measure. He then said "I've got bad news, this crack is a little over 6 inches and Safelite won't repair it with a warranty, you need a full replacement". Nobody wants to hear that, not much empathy given. Then he shocked me what he said next. He said "Safelite won't repair but I do business on the side and I can do it for you but there won't be a warranty" Just by curiousity, I asked him how much does he charge and he told me "half of what you paid". I have a luxury vehicle, why would I ever do that? Plus, he is taking away business from the company he works for. I asked him what would be the cost for a full replacement. Then he had to get on the phone, to get an estimate. I had him send me an estimate of the replacement to my email. I wanted Corey AND his dollar bill used to measure to leave as soon as possible because after that, I didn't trust him. Shortly thereafter, I got a call from Robert, a customer associate at the Oak Lawn, IL location who quoted the replacement estimate. I made sure that I was going to get a refund for what I originally paid which I did. After that experience, I did not want to use Safelite, PERIOD! Why are you using a dollar bill to measure windshield damage? Safelite won't provide a tape measure or a basic ruler??? Unprofessional. PLEASE NOTE: when you get a repair, they use a grey resin to stop a crack from forming, I was told that the cracks would still show. They don't explain that to you on the website. Why would I pay for a repair where the cracks still show? That's GHETTO, count me out. Safelite may be a good business but Corey as a shyster representing them messed it up for me. I ended up giving my business to someone else.
