My car was rear ended on I290 several weeks ago, and I needed to get my car fixed. Fortunate for me, I had a previous experience with Central Auto Rebuilders, and my insurance company had them on the list of preferred shops. I called and spoke to Fred, who gave me some really valuable information on how to proceed with the insurance company. I'm glad I followed his advice, because he was spot on! They submitted the estimate, got the approval from the insurance to complete the work. I dropped it off the next day and they gave me an estimated completion date, and they finished 3 days early! I looked the car over very closely, and I could not tell the repaired part of the car from the rest of the car. This car is a 2024 and has 25K miles on it, so they had to match the "new build" specs. Not to mention there's a lifetime warranty on the work! Fred is a no nonsense kind of guy that tells it like it is. In this day and age, it's a refreshing approach! I can only give 5 stars on this app, but they warrant a couple additional stars for doing a great job, communicating well and being a honest and trustworthy business. I took my truck here for an insurance job years ago. They did a horrible job but I didn't write a review back then because I was selling the truck anyway. Everything was put together poorly and had overspray all over the under side of the bed as well. Then I took my car there for another insurance job and they gave me a hard time due to it not being a larger repair. They eventually did it but they were very frustrating to deal with through the entire ordeal. Finally I thought I'd give them one more chance since they're so close to my house. I had another insurance job but I also had a few things I wanted to do out of pocket. They agreed to do the work and even told me to go ahead and have the parts shipped to their business. Once the part was on a truck about to arrive they suddenly refused to do the work. I had a written quote and agreement from one of the owners and they refused to keep their word. At the last minute I had to pay extra money to have the parts shipped to my house and find another body shop that would do the work. Go anywhere else but this place. They have poor customer service and they have poor workmanship. read more

So I was unfortunate enough for a shopping cart to hit my Rogue. Enter Central Auto Rebuilders which was recommended to me by my insurance company. The process was simple enough as I brought our car in and Fred gave us an estimate. He is very straight and direct in a no nonsence kind of way. He later set up a date and time for us to drop the car off. Not only was it finished one day earlier than promised, they had washed the car and did an excellent job repairing it. I'm floored to only see ten reviews as of 1/02/19! Phenomenal is how I'd describe the entire experience, from appointment setup, to picking my keys back up. One of the things I really appreciated as odd as it sounds was that they can text you updates, which was a Godsend for me since personal calls at work can be really hard. These guys finished up way more quickly than other people I've talked to who had work done, and the friends and family who looked at it couldn't even tell I'd been hit. The thing looked better than I've ever seen it. I didn't get any drama, or pitches for nonsensical stuff or services to buy, and it was ready in condition as promised, much earlier than I'd anticipated it being ready with the holidays. They fixed my car but they won't guarantee their work, they allegedly reinstalled my old fog lights but now they are foggy on the inside they never did that before, that means they did not reinstalled them correctly but they won't fix them ether and the amount they charged my insurance was insane, I will never go back to them nor will recommend them read more

I love this place. I went there a summer or two ago because my bumper halfway fell off. I can't remember how this happened but I believe someone hit my car in the middle of the night... it's been a while. Anyway, Fred and his brother were SO nice and after getting a quote for over $400 at the dealership (they said I needed an entirely new bumper), I brought my car here on my dad's recommendation. They quoted me $100 and that's what I was charged! They said that they could easily reattach the bumper and that's exactly what they did, and it was ready the same day. They define the word professionalism, and really make you feel comfortable with leaving your car in their hands. Throughout the process of your car getting fixed, they will update you on each step from getting the parts to the car being done. About 5 years ago I got in an accident and they did a repair. They guaranteed their work for the life of my ownership of the car. Last year the paint started to bubble and recently started to chip on the side the work was done. I went in and they said they would cover all the work being done and it would take about a week if not more. They said they would not cover the cost of the rental. I was a little upset by this as I would not have to be without a car if the work was done correctly the first time. I scheduled the work to be done and left. About 5 min later they called me back and said they would cover the cost of the rental as well. It took over a week and they did a great job! I would definitely come back! They have a warranty and they stick by it!!! read more

I just picked up my 2014 Lexus ls460 and I feel like I just got back a new car!! I had them fix both of my quarter panels and my trunk lid with minor scratches from wear and tear- (ok maybe me being uncareful a few times)While at the shop I asked them to buff out the rest of my black car. I am amazed at the quality of their work and the detail they did with buff!! It looks like it rolled off the floor brand new again. After searching the Chicago + Chicagoland area for a shop, Central Auto Rebuilders definitely caught my attention with their awesome reviews, I decided to give them a shot. Best decision EVER! Not only was Frank incredibly easy going, and accommodating! He called me right away when there was an earlier opening. Customer Service at this location is awesome, their secretary is super sweet, (she overheard me needing a ride, and even offered to take me home, !!!! what a sweetheart! I had already ordered a ride), Frank and Fred are prompt and on point. Frank gave me my expected turnover, I told him I had an upcoming trip and if he was able to get it done early to please let me know....my car was finished 4 days earlier than stated!!!! Like a ding dong I backed into a cement poll in a parking lot. The bumper on my Dodge Grand Caravan was slightly dented, but popped out on the right side. I stopped in after reading all the reviews and asked what it would cost just to reattached the bumper and I was shocked at the price, so very reasonable! I have used them for several car repairs over the years and have always been completely satisfied with their work. They are honest and they really stand behind their work. I recently had a minor fender bender which left the paint on my bumper cracked and it started to peel off. I took it to Central and they repainted it for free! They had previously painted the same area and they said they thought it should have held up better.....I was blown away!
