Okay, let me start out by saying that I signed up for Yelp just so I could give a rating for Turi's Auto Body. This is actually the second time that I've been to this shop for unrelated incidents, and both times my experience has been excellent. This last time, I went in for two things...a dent in my roof from a fallen tree limb that I had been putting off, and to get my bumper replaced after having just been rear-ended by a teen-aged driver.
First, the estimate process was extremely easy. I showed up, and was greeted by a man named Joe, who immediately went out to inspect the damage to my car. After my first service, several years ago, I had expected to have quick service in this department, but I expected to wait a little bit. For the record, I didn't have to wait the first time, either...but I had assumed that I had just gotten lucky that day. At the time, I wasn't sure whether the teenager's parents wanted to use their insurance to pay for the bumper repair or wanted to pay for it out of pocket, so Joe provided me an estimate for what he thought the job would realistically cost, but also an estimate for what it might cost if, after removing the bumper, additional damage was found. He also provided a worksheet with each and every part broken down by price and labor to make it easy to follow along. Armed with this knowledge, I contacted the father and let him know how much he was potentially looking at paying so that he could make an informed decision.
Upon hearing back from the father, I made arrangements with a rental company to provide a car so that I would have something to drive while my car was in the shop. So, after work, I went to Turi's and dropped off my vehicle. They kindly asked that I check my car for things like my IPass (oops, I would have forgotten that!) before they took my car, then brought it in. And I waited for my rental to arrive. And waited. And waited. After about twenty minutes, the receptionist asked if I had anybody coming to pick me up, to which I replied that I was supposed to. Then I waited some more, and while I was doing so, I heard Nino on the telephone with a customer highly recommending that they NOT have him do some work for them, because the cost of the repair would be more than the car was worth. How's that for honesty? Finally, I called the rental company to find out what the hold-up was. As it turns out, they had gone to the wrong location and then rented the car out from underneath me because I wasn't there...and they didn't have any more cars! Hearing my plight, the receptionist started calling various car rental places to see if anybody could come and get me, but none of them did. She kept calling every few minutes to a different place to see if anybody had returned a car that I could use, and finally I got lucky. At this point, Joe, the man who had given my initial estimate, left the building. As it turns out, the shop had closed ten minutes ago, but Nino and the receptionist were waiting around to make sure I got a ride rather than kick me out...and Joe was actually waiting to give me a ride back to my home if nothing turned up. Nobody asked this of them, they're just those kind of people. About ten minutes later my car arrived and everybody was able to leave. Honestly, the whole rental car situation would have just been easier if I had just let Turi's make the arrangements in the first place. They do that.
Fast forward to a few days later...today...and I came to pick up my car. It was beautiful. Obviously the bodywork was great, these guys know what they're doing, but my car, both inside and out, was cleaner that it had ever been any time since it was brand new. I have two young children who have done a bang-up job of making my car look "lived-in"...defined as "disgusting"...but it's now a thing of beauty both inside and out again. I was in and out within ten minutes this time!
Bottom line, Turi's is great. I highly recommend anybody who needs work done go to them. In fact, today alone, I recommended them to two people...the father who's daughter hit me in the first place, and a dentist friend of mine. Your car is in good hands, the shop works directly with insurance (remember I had to use my own insurance for my roof, and it was seamless as could be), the people who work there are really good at their jobs and honest about whether a job is worthwhile, and they go way above and beyond in the customer service department. read more
