I mentioned the scratch on the hood to the installer, and he just said, was it there before. I live on a dirt road. I wash my car by hand in my driveway. At least once a week because of all the dust, I think I would have noticed the scratch, had it, been there before the installation. Not sure how to go about bringing this problem to the company. I will talk to legal counsel before anything else, is it done.

I first came to this Belle Tire the winter before last when one of my tires randomly deflated and…read morethat was just the first place I happened to turn in to. Nothing else was wrong, and they just filled up all my tires for me free of charge. I attributed it to a "damsel in distress" thing and they were just pitying the poor Florida girl in Michigan. I have gone back for an oil change for my boyfriend's car, and all was pleasant yet again, and then I went back to them yesterday since I needed an oil change and my tires refilled (after the caps were frozen on). They caught my rusted brake pads so fixed those, tested my battery since I had mentioned I needed to jump it, and changed my oil and inflated my tires. My battery did need to be replaced, and they don't have the best prices ($170 vs. last year I replaced my boyfriend's for $120 from AAA), but I figured I'd just get it done there since the service was so wonderful. THEN, this morning, my car didn't start. Even after the brand new battery. Having no clue what it was for, they paid for it to be towed to their place, and turns out, after testing my alternator, gear shifter and a couple other things, the mechanic dug up a technical service bulletin from Hyundai that for 2009 and 2010 Sonatas, the starters can just die in extreme cold (and this being Michigan and what with all the polar vortexes (vortices) we've been having, it's cold). Starters are expensive, and since my car is just under 5 years old, I checked the warranty - and the starter is covered, but only by the Hyundai place. They were completely fine with me having it all done for free at the Hyundai place, and let me walk out without paying a dime. Even after they footed the bill for my car to be towed, then spent the hour and a half labor investigating the problem. When it was a problem that was 100% not their fault. For as long as I live in Michigan, I'll be coming here unless I have to go to the dealership. I've interacted with more than a handful of their mechanics and staff and have had nothing but the best experiences, and I find it hard to believe the 1-star reviews from others.

Be forewarned- not only does the young girl who answers the phone here sound like she's from a very…read moreurban environment (you may not understand her slang) but she's not competent AT all when it comes to the services being offered at this shop. This shop is okay if you absolutely need some customization at the last minute or are on a tight deadline and don't really care about the quality of the work done here (b/c it's NOT top notch), or if you bringing your daily driver here (just don't EVERE bring your weekend car or ANY car that costs upwards of $50k-$200k or more!!!!!). For starters- while they have no problem providing you with quotes, they do NOT invoice their work- so when it's all said and done, you will pay and simply get a receipt (absolutely NO itemized listing of what was done). I believe that they do this to HIDE additional charges and the quotes you receive over the phone are often not accurate. They have no SHAME in making sure that you prompted with the TIP option on their little credit card device (last time I made sure to choose NO TOP while smiling at the clueless young receptionist!) So in summary, if you HATE being ripped off or paying an additional $100 to$1000 more (as I once did on my Telsa) then don't bring your car here, as transparency/organization/clear communication is NOT a priority at this shop. Also, we have gotten work done at literally over a hundred shops across the US on our 14 cars (ranging in MSRP from $76K to $278K MSRP) and this is the only shop where the owner tolerates the installers/employees blasting loud music and yelling like animals for extended periods at a time (while he's sitting in the office making calls)- I literally felt like I was in a zoo- NEVER AGAIN!
