Pretty good food here. We enjoyed it thoroughly. The place was full and popping, yet chill. One thing I'll say about Gerardo's that they are fast! We ordered drinks and food and before we could even get halfway through our drink, dinner was served! Got the Carne Guisada. Very good! Pina colada coulda been sweeter but it was good too! After food we hung out at the bar and talked over a beer. Great experience!

This is the Carne Guisada, queso, and top shelf Margarita.

is place has good food and good service. Great atmosphere. I liked the queso. The carne Quesada was good but I kind of wish would have tried the enchiladas. My top shelf Margaritas came out fast but it didn't really taste like top shelf. It was supposed to have Donjulios in it. I added another shot of tequila for flavor. I would come here again but get the enchiladas next time.

Haven't been back to this place sense they re did it. Man still bomb. I got the ribeye steak with shrimp enchilada and shrimp. My wife got the chile relano with taco and cheese enchilada. My steak was cooked perfect and is seasoned very good. Melts in your mouth. Only bad thing on my plate was the shrimp, over cooked and lacked seasoning but I would still order this again. My wife said her plate was amazing but the only complaint she has is the chile rellano. Lacks seasoning and the breading wasn't up to par. We also tried the apple pie for dessert and the queso flamado for app. The queso isn't your traditional queso flamado, it's more tex mex but it's really good and Omgosh that apple pie dish is a must try, sweet and savory. Service is great and friendly. We will be coming back again to try other dishes that sounded amazing. Great atmosphere too.

I have visited Buffalo Nickel a few times while visiting Midland for work and enjoyed my visit…read moreevery time. It has a nice easy-going, small-town Texas feel to it which is hard to describe unless you've lived in a town like this like I have. The inside is typically nice and chill; an ideal environment to grab a cocktail or two and conversate with a date, coworker, group of friends, whatever. Out of all the bars I have been to in Midland, I think Buffalo Nickel has the best selection of whiskey especially. I am not a huge whiskey aficionado but I have heard from ones that this is the place to go. I am more of a tequila and beer guy and they have everything I want. The unique thing about this bar is that the back patio is smoke-friendly. I am guilty of wanting some nicotine after some drinks so this is a great place for me. They also sell cigars if that is your thing. Cheers!

They have a nice selection to grab a couple to smoke on the back patio or to take with you for later. Hubby really enjoy the Crazy Alice, said it was one of the best cigars he's ever had! We sat at the bar and our bartender was very sweet and attentive. Explained the cocktails a bit for us and gave suggestions. The Pumpkin Spiced White Russian caught my eye online so I went with that and hubby had an Old Fashioned. Drinks were spot on so when the bartender said they had a great Espresso Martini I said but of course! It was absolutely delicious!! We highly recommend Buffalo Nickel for a small gathering or date night cocktails.

We had a good time, danced and socialized with our group. The problem arose when I closed the tab and added a 20% gratuity. The staff was immediately insulted, because the $100+ tip wasn't cash. I was then told that they would be adding an additional 20% charge to the closed out tab as we were leaving. Reading the reviews,it seems like they are quite shady when it comes to the tabs. The staff should be fired, and if I were the owner, I would question how much cash is walking out the door with the employees. Stay away!

Saint Blaise is a fantastic choice for a more formal brunch, lunch, or dinner in Midland, TX…read more MISSED MARK Getting the cons out of the way... The reason it missed the 5-star mark with me was our waitress was slow to do everything. Even with taking our drink order. Then our food order. The worst was waiting for my final bill. And then she forgot our takeout box for my youngest. I don't know why she didn't have a greater sense of responsiveness with our party of 3, but it was like this the entire duration of our meal on July 25, 2026. It was super frustrating! The other reason I knocked off a star off was because the towel dispenser was depleted in the lone restroom. I had to flag down an employee with drenched hands. THE PROS I called about 20 minutes ahead of time to reserve a table because I knew this brassiere was on the small side. The lady on the phone was courteous and professional. If you have a hot date, I highly recommend reservations particularly in the evening. This seems like that sort of place. When we arrived, I found free street parking a short walk away. We were promptly greeted and seated. To enter the restaurant, you must go inside the Frost Bank tower's lobby, but to exit there is a door just beyond the bar. This place has beautiful, eclectic decor. The bar area was somewhat rounded and has an easygoing, but classy feel to it. THE FOOD The ambiance is what made this a great mother/daughters brunch date. The food sets it apart from the majority of restaurants in this oil industry town. The have East Coast-sourced oysters on the menu! These are far superior to their West Coast counterparts. I would have opted for these for our app if it weren't for my minions, I mean children. Pigs in a Blanket ($15.00) - yet another appetizer my daughters pigged out on that I didn't get to try. And they said they weren't that hungry! Lies all lies. They looked divine with nicely cooked juicy sausage and everything seasoning on the pastries. Avo Toast ($11.50) - my newly-turned teen daughter and I both had our own. I opted for eggs over easy which were cooked nicely. She oddly chose scrambled eggs for her, but she ate pretty much all of it. Smashed Burger ($17) - my youngest had this and said it was excellent. Nice touch with an American flag planted into the top bun. For the umpteenth time she did not share a fry with me. It is what it is. Mocha latte ($5.00) - my youngest's birthday which I will be missing since she'll be visiting her father is coming up so this was a treat for her. I tried it. Quite good after being thoroughly stirred. 1988 Martini ($18) - pricey but oh so good. The olives stuffed with bleu cheese were not bad. I had to try it even though the thought of bleu cheese kind of turned me off. Lol. Will I return? Of course because I have faith it will be 5 stars next time. Look at the other raving reviews! She treated us like we weren't worth her time, yet she was at her JOB of serving people and no one else was in the room. Go figure. Anyway, we ordered food....beware most of it is just frozen crap that gets reheated in the kitchen. Nothing is fresh. Salmon was a triangle shape like you get from Sam's club freezer dept, mixed veggies were also from a freezer and slightly reheated. One of my veggies was actually still frozen on the inside! Mac n cheese was cold. Seriously it had not even been warmed up appropriately. How hard is that? Steaks were okay and probably your best option there but not worth the $27. Bartender did a great job of mixing drinks. Mixed drinks were all perfect. Cooler was "out" so no draft beer at all. Second server also talked down to us like we were trash. We were just about to leave and go somewhere else when we received our third server who was awesome. Kristian was her name and she knows how to serve!! Great attitude, attentive, patient, talkative and friendly. So we stayed a few hours, DJ shows up around 9:00 and he did a great job with music selection. Dance floor is small but not crowded. No smoking in the main part of the bar so this is a nice place to go dancing and not end up smelling like cigarettes all night. I'd recommend this place for drinks and dancing but definitely not for dinner!! Also, ask for Kristian to be your server if possible so you get treated with respect. She gets one whole star on my review, otherwise this would be a one star review!
