    I purchased a used RAV4 from this dealership after negotiating with John over two days. He was polite and professional, and we agreed on the out-the-door price before I drove 4 hours to complete the deal. However, several issues left me disappointed. Before I even arrived, I clearly requested multiple times that the car be properly washed and waxed -- it was for my wife, and I wanted it to look great. John assured me it would take about an hour, so I expected a proper detail. But the car was back from "cleaning" in under 15 minutes, and it was clear it just went through a basic wash, with no waxing at all. That felt misleading. I was also handed a dead second key fob, even though I had asked about key fobs ahead of time. No one told me it wasn't working. The next day, while putting in seat covers, I noticed the front passenger all-weather floor mat was missing -- even though it was shown in the listing and was there during the test drive. It had apparently disappeared during the quick wash. When I reached out, I got a "we'll check and let you know" kind of response. Fortunately, it was found later and they agreed to ship it, but there was no sense of ownership until I followed up. While the finance process was quick and low-pressure (which I appreciated), the overall experience didn't meet the expectations I had from a dealership of this size and reputation. I came for a fair deal and a 5-star experience -- but left feeling let down by the lack of transparency and accountability.

    Just found out they lied to me. They said they updated all my software including starlink and guess what Subaru of America said they couldn't have updated starling. My DCM needs replaced and their is even a service bulletin about this issue. So they sold me a car a few days ago and said the car was fully serviced and these things were taken care of. Please do yourself and take your car to another dealer. A little bit ago after getting my car from the dealership I noticed mechanics oily fingerprints all over the ceiling of my car. My father is a master tech so I know they are supposed to wear gloves to prevent this from happening.

    I LOVE my Subaru dealer in Tampa, Mastro subaru. Gerald Jones Subaru SUCKS!!!! Mastro does walk-in oil changes and lends you a curtesy vehicle at no extra charge! Gerald Jones offers none of this. They want you to make an appointment for a simple oil change. They don't give vehicles to customers. Called today on Saturday, when I was transferred, they simply picked up the phone and immediately hung it up! When I call back I get a sob story of how they only have one person in the service department. Come'on! Subaru dealerships are not supposed to have decent review for sales and countless 1-star reviews for their service department. Seems to me like the owner is pocketing a lot of his profits and not adequately staffing the service department. It is disgusting and someone needs to school him on what good customer service entails.

They are always busy, but they are always motivated to help waiting customers after elite care for current ones. 2. They got me in and out. With or without an appointment they've given me that 5-star treatment. 3. Staff is knowledgable and patient. They listened closely to my car drama and tangled it with care and efficiency. When I returned to have it looked at, my concerns were completely dismissed and I was told it was "normal." It was not normal. I took my car to another Honda dealership, and they quickly found the issue--a loose bolt--and fixed it. This is something that should have been caught the first time, especially after such a major repair. Instead of taking accountability or even properly checking their work, this dealership brushed me off and sent me away. The lack of attention to detail and customer care is unacceptable. This whole experience caused unnecessary stress, wasted my time, and made me lose trust in their service completely. If you value your time, money, and peace of mind, I would strongly suggest going somewhere else

We just got the vehicle back today on December 1 2025. When we originally went to pick the vehicle in October the rear driver side door had been damaged and the gear shifter lights no longer worked and the car was not accelerating . We informed them. At which point they said they would take a look at it. They contacted me back and said I would need a second diagnostics when they did a full diagnostic when we took it in and no other issues were found. After doing a second diagnostics they then said the cam magnet was the cause of the vehicles loss of acceleration. We just picked the vehicle up today and now the backup camera is not working. They told us they can do another diagnostics which we would have to pay for it. What's even worse is the General Manager and the Service Manager both stated there's not much they could do. Eventually, we were offered $250 off of the cam magnet repair. But unfortunately we left with our vehicle worse off than when we took in for a simple service. I would not recommend taking your vehicle to Gerald Jones Volkswagen for repair. If you can find another foreign automotive repair shop that has great work/mechanics. I'd highly recommend doing so.
